Crimson Eternal - First 20,000 Words of the Story, Synopsis, Cover, and Glossary

Unlike my previous stories first chapters, I decided to use a google doc for this one, instead of a pdf. The link is at the bottom of the post.
Also, until I move it to Royal Road, it will be patron only. At that point it will move to public for the chapters already on Royal Road.

Death is an inevitability for all except Aria.
Something she knows all too well.
In a world full of war, Aria Crimson finds herself locked in the battlefield, unable to escape the war and the never-ending fighting that comes along with it. And as gunfire echoes throughout the world and ability holders of the two Empires fight until the end, both nations find themselves stumped when a strange screen similar to one of the newly created computers’ screens but with far higher quality appears in front of everyone on the planet.
Screens displaying text describing some sort of System meant to guide and empower the people of the planet when their planet is invaded by otherworlders.
Now Aria has a way out of the war. One that involves fighting even harder.
How will the world react to the changes, to the invaders, and to the power granted to them?
And how will the only True Immortal in the universe, one dubbed by the System as Death, one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse despite the irony, choose to proceed?
Join Aria as she figures that out for herself.
The story is set place with technology from around World War II in a fantasy world. So it is not medieval technology, but it's also not modern. Somewhere in between.

I love it. She is a good character already and you can feel both her hatred and numbness which seem contradictory but it works. Also love guns being in use as I have always thought that guns loosing usage in these types of books are dumb. Like if bullets stop working just use the system magic to make railguns using lighting and higher metals. Or just shoot MAGiC like they did here!! So fun.

2023-11-08 12:49:00 +0000 UTCYeah. I don’t really understand why people make it so bullets wouldn’t have any effect. At least until you’re way up there in power or protection. But until then, bullets would be pretty good. I guess if you’re wanting to get that powerful, you wouldn’t want to not become used to the weapons you’d eventually have to use, but that would be personal preference. Or that it’s harder and more wasteful to enchant all those bullets instead of a sword or knife and a few others.

2023-11-06 17:59:15 +0000 UTCNice settings so far, please keep the guns around and don't just switch for sword because bullets dont affect higher level beings, that's been done too much and WW2 without guns wouldn't be WW2

So I've never written a story at this level of technology before. As for the true immortal part, I wanted to write a better true immortal story. And a LitRPG one this time.
