Glee 02x16 BTS?

What should I look out for or fun facts about GLEE 02x16?

Comments

I really enjoy Chris and Darren joking about the kiss, and considering how much controversy there was after it aired, I feel like they handled it really well. Having two gay teen characters kiss on screen during prime time television was unheard of back then, and I just feel really proud of them when I look back on that time. It was one of the reasons I put up with Glee’s many issues later on: seeing the show willing to break down old ridiculous boundaries and freely talk about lgbtqia characters as just people and not some kind of oddity (though they didn’t always get it right, they did try). I feel like this show and especially this episode and episode 2x15 opened a lot of doors for queer teens and young adults (and even an older adult like me, who was just starting to come to terms with my bisexuality at that time).

Here’s the behind the scenes video from that episode https://youtu.be/ftOp18hr5vo?si=iCNWFsulI8SVnF_h

- After Mercedes performs Hell to the No, Mr. Schue asks the kids what their favourite song is, and Brittany answers "My Headband". Rachel sang the song to Finn only in Blame It on the Alcohol, so Brittany never would have heard it. (Although, it is possible Rachel simply may have performed the song again for everyone else off-screen at a different time) - Not a BTS or anything, but this is one of my favourite episodes because I'm a Klaine fan (even with their issues), and this episode has their first kiss and them **finally** getting together ahhh. But dang that C*ck-Blocking Piano™ for denying us their second kiss 😭 lol. (As they go in for their second kiss, the scene switches abruptly to the Hell to the No performance)

This episode has some of the most, if not then, the most songs of any episode with 11 in its discography. This marks when Kurt and Blaine get together for the first time and Chris was so nervous to film the kiss scene, that he didn’t eat anything the day of and brushed his teeth right before. Afterwords, during an interview, he said his reaction was quote “Damn Darren, I need a cigarette now.” And it’s the first time the NDs win regionals!

Hi Audrey, for episode 2x16 pay attention to Blaine's face when Kurt sings "Black Bird". You can see how his gaze towards him changes and he realizes that he feelings for Kurt.
