GLEE S02E09 WATCH PARTY

Rachel is a brat, but Quinn is a capital BI***, and Santana is the devil, not to mention many others are selfish and act like a diva, Rachel is just more openly musically driven and competitive.

Lucile Byrd

OMG i didnt know any of that!

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

hahah! I've never seen that before!

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

Old news, but speaking of "I've had the time of my life..." someone replaced the music https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V9v6esjlZhA&feature=youtu.be <3 <3 <3 This always makes me laugh

I love Santana. She's my second fave to Quinn. Getting to FINALLY hear a solo/lead from her was freaking awesome. Audrey's mention of Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey (Baby/Francis)'s tension and loathing on set made me think of five things... 1. Him hurting his back during filming. 2. Me realizing she's Joel Freaking Grey's daughter?!?!?! (Movie Cabaret, Broadway Wicked, a million other things) 3. The dad was Lumiere from Beauty and the Beast 4. Every time we went camping I sure as hell thought of the river/log scene and wanted to act it out. 5. I was WAY too young to be watching Dirty Dancing when I did and never understood half the plot, but I sure as hell wore out a VHS tape that my parents tried to hide from me over and over

My first episode as a Patreon! Yay! ^.^

i love valori but dog days are over is the fav!

I don't know if this is an unpopular opinion or not, but I really like Emma and Carl together lol If Schuester wasn't constantly coming in between their relationship, I think more of the audience would be rooting for them. He's clearly been good for her mental health and wellbeing, and he's just, I think, a really good guy.

I Am Not Chamari

I always love the duet of Quinn and Sam in the competition for this episode. It's so sweet and I love and I loved them as a couple during this time on the show.

Turnip Crazy

For the name, just think War-blurs when trying to say it. That last song was my favorite through this episode.

Marisa Hill

Yay!! Quinn and Tina deserve more solos so I’m always happy to hear their voices

Rheannon

Rachel being mad about Finn having sex with Santana comes more from a place of insecurities and him doing something intimate with her biggest bully than Rachel being mad he lied... she's a 16 years old, i really feel for her tbh! her kissing Puck was super messed up, but Finn was so dumb for lying to her and thinking he was protecting her + Santana is once again showing her true colors bc she only wanted to hurt Rachel, that still hasn't done anything bad to her btw??? they're all wrong

This is one of my favourite episodes. I laughed when you pointed out that the Warblers made a big deal of auditions just to give it to Blaine. Blaine ALWAYS leads, something that will become glaringly obvious the longer you watch. In this season alone, he has 4 full solos, which is two more than Quinn has in the entire SERIES, and three more than Tina has in the series. I believe someone counted that he has between 28-30 solos in the series. ANYWAYS, this episode is great, and I'm glad they let others shine during the competition. I'm also glad you liked Lauren Zizes! She's a fiery character. In real life, the actress who plays her (Ashley Fink) is really good friends with Kurt's actor (Chris Colfer)!

Megan Christina

So excited. 2 of my favorite episodes are coming up soon.

There's a theory that many of Brittany's "crazy" sayings, are actually referencing other people—in the case of Lord Tubbington (her cat) it's Santana... e.g. "Just like I know that the cricket that reads to me at night is TOTALLY stealing my jewelry" When she said, "I'm pretty sure my cat's been reading my diary" in an earlier episode, you could see Santana briefly look a little panicked.

desiderata770

Ok yea that makes way more sense about Rachel. 🤔

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

That’s a good point. They could have still won and yet continued the plot. I was really a good episode.

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

I know those songs ;)

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

That’s actually a great idea! I might have to check out the 3d watch party idea. Thanks!

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

Oh that does help :)

Ooh next is the first Christmas episode I think! I don't think it's really relevant to the plot but it's really fun and has a lot of great songs in it (including Last Christmas and Baby, It's Cold Outside).

The Warblers are amazing live. I had the privilege of attending the Glee Live Concert Tour in New York, which is the one that they used for the Glee 3D movie. Being in the audience when they're performing live is electric, and we got treated to extra performances because they had to record a few of the numbers twice for editing purposes. Audrey, you've expressed wanting to hear them sing live and I highly recommend doing a watch party for Glee 3D after you've finished season 2. Naya is an amazing performer live. Her voice is so strong that on the tour there were times when her mic would cut out and you could still hear her strong voice without the mic, putting to rest any doubts about whether they were actually singing live. Her live version of Valerie really showcases how much of a performer she was. Also, you'll see as the series goes on that the writers would often use Santana to reveal truths that the other characters needed to face. Naya played the part so well and if you really look at the background performances, you can see how much fun she would have with the cast. You could see it so well in their performance of Dog Days Are Over. It was nice to see her have fun with Cory (Finn) and Kevin (Artie) because she was very close to them in real life, but was often at odds with their characters.

Gemma Rivera

I love these reactions!

Sam Jaeger

an easy way to think of saying “warblers” is “wore-blers”! great reaction!!

Just think War-Blers. I had to go to speech therapy too😉. I have a few thoughts on this one. Because of the episode before this, when Rachel didn't include Santana in the Glee girls meeting, she got pissed, this was that revenge, Santana can dish out revenge. Sometimes it's really bad. She really destroyed their relationship in a topic that actually wasn't her business to involve herself in, to begin with. All to get Rachel and Finn back. Teenage Drama at its best even if the people playing these characters are definitely not teenagers LOL. Rachel shouldn't have made out with Puck though, that was a bitchy move too, knowing that Puck knocked Quinn up the year before when she was dating Finn. So that was two now that he screwed Finn over on. But also Finn shouldn't have lied or withheld the truth from Rachel. He had more than one opportunity to tell her the truth, including the day after the date where he was asked how the date with Santana went. Rachel is a drama queen and a brat, we know this, no more we can say on this topic 🥱 The show was completely about miscommunication and misunderstanding everything. I think it should be a lesson to some to open their ears not their mouths if they want to understand, sorry that wasn't supposed to be sounding bitchy. Just a moral of the story I took from the show. The Rachel and Kurt song could have gone a little longer. I did say before that very very slowly Rachel does become more self-aware, she showed it on this show when talking to Kurt at the competition. Where she apologized for being selfish and made it more about him and how he felt. It's a very slow progression this season I wasn't a huge fan of this show other than the competition. The next one I am. Christmas Episode actually has a theme to it, Sue is awesome in it as well.

when i first watched this i thought about how it didn’t make sense that rachel would cheat on finn because she spent the first half of s1 chasing him basically and she really loves him so i thought it was out of character but now being as invested in the show and the characters as i am it makes sense to who rachel was as a character at this point which i think her cheating on finn is a great low point to start her character development in s2, but basically she’s selfish and all she saw was how finn hurt her by being with santana so she wanted to hurt him back it was very awful of her but something finn does a little later in this season makes me feel less bad for him cause it just seems very hypocritical but s2 is not only my favorite season but one of my favorite rachel seasons just on character development alone

fry

santana and amy winehouse is like the most perfect mix

This is definitely one of my favorite episodes of Glee. Love the "Valerie" and "Dog Days Are Over" covers in this episode the covers are 2 of my favorite covers from Glee. Love that this episode utilizes the characters whose singing voices haven't been showcased as much (at this point in the series). Mercedes has sung the most so far out of the characters that did sing in this episode (excluding Rachel and Kurt who had a duet this episode) but she hasn't sung as much as Finn and Rachel have and often she is used just at the end of songs to belt the high note. Tina hasn't sung a lot despite being one of the original 5 members of the Glee Club. Though Quinn has had storylines she hasn't sung a lot and she sings this episode. Sam is a newer member of the Glee Club so we haven't heard him sing a lot yet and he sings this episode. Santana hasn't sung a lot yet and she sings this episode (For Santana in Season 2 it is more about giving her more characterization since her character was a background character who was upgraded to a series regular this season so she slowly starts to sing more as this season progresses and then next season she actually is the character that sings the most). The only thing I don't like about this episode is there being a tie with the New Directions and The Warblers. The New Directions had the better performances in the competition but the writers had The Warblers tie with them. It feels obvious the tie happened to incorporate Kurt and Blaine into the storyline more. I still think they could've had The Warblers lose and still had a storyline with Kurt and Blaine because Kurt was an original Glee Club member so of course we would want to know what he was doing at Dalton Academy.
