August 2021 Fan Art Poll RESULTS (+ some updatesss)

Oki!~ Couple extra things to get to also:
1- I've gotten quite a few things worked on this past week that I'm hoping to share with y'all here soon T v T/ Including some grils from the suggestion box, which I haven't pulled from in a while T w T So not too much longer for some new arts for y'all here~
2- Also, last week I got a complaint about the RNG wheel being used to narrow down the poll options and wanted to get y'alls thoughts on it too. I made a survey post for me to discuss with Honoraries and Companions (since y'all are the ones involved in the polls)~
But yee the main reason I tried out the RNG wheel in the first place was to narrow down all the options we get in the poll submissions. Patreon's polls only allow up to 25 options, and we've been consistently getting 26+ entries every poll for a while. That led to me doing that system of splitting the poll into two parts to get all entries in, which also got quite a few complaints for how complicated and confusing it was to some. Another option I tried in the past was to put the entries into the comments section and have you vote by liking the comment, but Patreon glitched out one month I tried that and didn't count lots of likes (Patreon also occasionally likes to randomly delete comments for some reason), so I don't see that as a reliable method I want to depend on for the polls going forward. Using another website for the polls is also out of the question since the link to it could be shared to folks outside of Patreon to skew the numbers, and I really don't want to resort to limiting the poll to 25 entries only since some of you Honoraries wouldn't even get a chance to enter someone if you weren't fast enough :/ So implementing a system of randomness across the board to narrow down the options seemed like a fun alternative to try out after that 'two part poll' system got numerous complaints, but I've rambled too much for now = v =/ We can discuss this more in that survey post I mentioned earlierrr~
3- I should also mention that I've recently been considering making the monthly fan art polls a bimonthly event (once every other month) 🤔
I've already kinda been doing that a bit this year so far by skipping June and July, and also having March be around my own OCs instead, but by making it a scheduled bimonthly occurrence, I could have a whole lot more time in-between to catch up on older big projects (including pic pack/bonus draw stuffs for Honoraries and OmniV universe stuffs for Companions) and also potentially get to more stuff from the suggestion box too!~ So yee, lemme know what y'all think of this as well T v T/

I know I'm late to the party but, sadly, you're never going to please 100% of the people 100% of the time. While you do amazing to remain professional, I'm sure it's stress you don't need. Like many, I support the use of the RNG wheel. It's fun to watch and, with as many submissions you receive, I believe it to be the fairest way. I've had plenty of times where my submission didn't even see the light of day. What do I do? Wait until next time! Until then you offer plenty of content and your personality is addicting as hell! Bimonthly polls? And it will benefit our Magnolia? Sign me up you ducking ducktastic ducky!

I’ll love the result either way but I don’t want this to make more sequel pics win like it did here. The fairy tail beach should either end here be be on an hiatus for a while

I can’t believe that means we’re gonna get more beach shenanigans~💕 Consider me very excited, considering the last two fairytail pics have been absolutely mind bogglingly gorgeous >w< On another note: I really like the RNG wheel, but I usually never participate in submitting characters so maybe I’m a bit in the dark... I do think Jam’s comment method could work well if given another shot tho~ But at the end of the day, it’s your choice Mag! And bimonthly polls? YES! You deserve having an extra swathe of down-time in between your projects~💗 I know for a fact that you spoil us rotten with all this amazing art, so it’s only natural that you should have extra time! I’m all for this change ^w^

2021-08-22 03:19:24 +0000 UTCI like the RNG wheel for narrowing down, the main problem that is starting to arise with Jam's method is that we are starting to see the same characters getting picked over and over again, as her OC's have all won their fair share of polls (5-7) each, and some people are starting to get annoyed by just seeing the same characters again and again, with the RNG wheel it's all up to chance for the characters to even make it in the poll.

Jam does all of their polls that way and as far as I know there’s never been any issues like what you explained, so maybe you just got unlucky and it’d be fine on other tries? And for the bimonthly poll thing, that’d definitely be a good change I think, I think myself and probably some other people on here are all for you having more time to work on things, both personal and poll related works, and that seems like the best way to go about that! Also little side note but I’m really looking forward to seeing who you picked out of the suggestion box 👀

2021-08-22 02:11:00 +0000 UTCIn my opinion, the RNG wheel works great. My suggestion didn't get picked but I'm not disappointed. Narrowing it down makes it so much easier to vote and sometimes helps less popular characters win easier. Camilla and Aerith were in the suggestions and they would have obliterated the competition without the RNG wheel.
