For shows that come out weekly, that I really enjoy, I tend to rewatch the last episode right before I watch the new episode. Its better then recaps and a allows me to get more hyped.

2025-03-13 01:30:42 +0000 UTCChrisjen did mention her son dying before, when she was talking with Holden's mother. And I think they touched on Cotyar knowing his son in earlier episodes. But his involvement in having his son killed was new information afaik. This is a great episode. Errinwright's storyline across these few episodes is so well crafted. At first, his change of heart seems dubious, but as the story progresses, you start to believe he truly regrets his actions and is willing to face the consequences. I think he was genuine hurt by Chrisjen's refusal to help him out of his desperate situation and wanting him to take the fall. So, as a last-ditch effort, when he realizes Chrisjen can lead him to Mao, he orchestrates a bold move to eliminate Korshunov, destroy the Karakum, locate Mao and force him back into his fold. Ultimately, he plans to have Mao deal with Chrisjen, stating he expects him to return to Earth "alone". This show does an excellent job of writing its characters, giving them clear, understandable, and relatable motivations. Even characters like Errinwright, who might be seen in a negative light by the viewer, are fully developed with well-defined motives that don’t simply make them "bad." You can understand why they believe their actions are valid and justifiable from their perspective, even if you don't agree with them.

At that point he decided to play a Hail Mary (assassinating Kurschenov). So he was writing to his ex wife as he thought it likely it would go wrong. But when he successfully killed the Martian using the DNA targeted poison, he was able to do his 180 and threaten Mao to come back to his side. And he’s throwing Crisjen under the bus.

Bobbie's "I'll go through you like a door", all of team ABC's interactions, the cucumber sandwiches, Holden's monomania and coming back from the brink, freaking all of Champa. The only real miss is Errinwirght and that might have been intentionally mysterious.

It was supposed to leave Amazon in the USA a few weeks ago and didn't, so maybe it's just taking longer to get the rights back elsewhere. I wish I could just play the whole episode, since that would make life easier for everyone 😓
