That's a great way to look at it! I figured there had to be a reason (this show has never once been sloppy), it just felt so jarring to me technically.

2025-02-27 02:14:42 +0000 UTCFor the children was a joke we did on my old channel, after the "For the Children" episode of Ted Lasso. Anytime a scenario like that came up, we'd repeat "for the children" WandaVision style, and I'd throw in the clip. I haven't done it in so long 😂

Between the music and her facial acting I really felt the joy, wonder, and awe someone would have seeing something like that after having lived their whole life indoors. As far as why the only angles they showed, I always interpreted that as we are seeing closeups of her face so we can get what she is feeling, and only that closed off shot from behind because that's what all she was focusing on. Seeing that much water for the first time ever, and it going all the way to the horizon...the beauty of what was in front of her was essentially all she could see at that moment.

Normally I try to keep you guys as informed as possible, the past few weeks just took a lot out of me, and I didn’t expect to go so long without posting. No harm or foul, and I apologize for times I’m not able to be as communicative as I’d like. Life does happen lol

But a simple one or two line post saying that there wouldn't be any posts for a while would have been appreciated. Am I going to cancel my sub because there wasn't one? Not even close. I love Jacqui! (Don't make it weird.) I just hope that this can be seen as a minor constructive criticism on how to make the channel better.

Much would be changed by the time of this episode, not the least of which would be a seawall. The seawall would have drainage to keep heavy rains from flooding the island. I think where Bobbie came out would be the East River, but notice how far Brooklyn/Queens are. They may not have had the same level of protection from sea level rise as Manhattan. The river would be tidal, and certainly as close to Oceanic as Bobbie gets to see for now. I've spent a lot of time in and around the cities on the east coast, and find this show's treatment of the receding coastline fascinating. I had a screenshot (posted to Xitter, and now lost) of the east coast from space and disappearing Florida and disappearing DelMarVa peninsula were very well done.

Many things could have happened that would cause for missing episodes, none of which are your business. If she does feel the need to tell you before hand, then consider yourself lucky, but stuff happens in real life.

Everyone lives on “basic” which just keeps everyone alive but provides for no fulfillment. The opportunities for professional advancement are so small in proportion to the population that, compounded with corruption from the rich and powerful, the chances of making it out are small. Martians believe that Earthers are lazy, and choose to live their lives on basic assistance. Whereas the truth, as in so much, is more nuanced.

But I'm wondering: did I miss some sort of notice about why it's been 2-1/2 weeks since you're last post? I don't mean that to sound like an accusation. If you had something going on in your life that you needed to deal with, or even if you were just on vacation, I'm fine with that. I really am. It just would have been nice to have some sort of notification. I've just been missing your reactions. 😊

2025-02-25 20:12:32 +0000 UTCBobbie on the shore is one of my favorite scenes in the whole series, I think it's the music that always makes me emotional ("On the nature of daylight", anyone? btw @Jacqui, have you seen "Arrival"?). Also RIP Lt.Lopez - it sure would have been nice to seen an ocean on Mars, but an ocean on Earth will do for a change
