Buffy 1x06 Full Length Reaction

I added clips around the act breaks/blackouts to help with syncing, since apparently those can vary with different verisons.

*Please note, this is the full length version, and due to copyright restrictions, requires you to sync your own copy.

Hi Jacqui good to see you back. Just an observation when the zookeeper tells Buffy and Willow that Hyenas will learn a person's name and then at night try to lure them with it. That's something I've read about in several novels about Africa, apparently a common superstition among different tribes at one time.

I'm impressed she can tell the difference between Eion Bailey and Paul Rudd.

"Shadows = Good." I agree, and would advise to avoid the HD version of BTVS. (I think Hulu has the standard def, so you should be fine). On top of the waxy skin look, all the shadows in the HD version show were brightened. Things hiding in the shadows became things standing around in underlit areas of the set. Anyway, glad you are enjoying the show so far. These early episodes have quite a bit of charm and there's certainly an nostalgia component that makes me love them. (I went to Torrance High, where they filmed the show. In this episode, Willow and Buffy have their heart-to-heart conversation outside Mrs. Scataloni's classroom, where I mostly worried about my social studies homework, and cannot recall having a single heart-to-heart conversation). You are picking up on the essential vibe of the show, which is to balance quippy, smart, sometimes cheesy meta-laced humor with darker and serious situations and themes. Losing Principal Fluttie is shocking. Losing him because some otherwise runofthemill teenaged bullies became possessed by a hyena demon, and then collectively held him down and ate him alive is effing grim. I do feel like this episode is a mixed bag, though. I've offered this observation before, but the decision to have the zoo keeper interpret the Maasai "primal" (apologies to the actual Maasai folks) ritual by making himself look like Frasier Crane in Smurf cosplay, undercuts any deeper or darker aspects that Flutie's demise, or Xander's troubling behavior (based on possession, yes) may have offered at this stage. Fear not. It all gets more cohesive, fascinating and fun. Also, you're probably going to start to love these characters. It just happens. It's actually pretty similar to the way the characters in Firefly just capture your heart. Only, this time it goes on for seven seasons.❤️🧛🏻‍♂️

As noted in the description, this is the full length version, and due to copyright restrictions, I can't legally show the full episode, so you have to have your own copy to watch along. While it will eventually get edited for YouTube, right now, Buffy reactions are only available in full length format.

Okay, whenever I try to view the little window pops up with what I think is a time code and I can't see any of the video being reviewed. I presume that there is a way around this. Is it possible for you to contact me?

I had never noticed that Xander and Willow whore stripes shirt at the zoo. Thanks for the clips around breaks.

Ahhh, The Pack, a quintessential season 1 episode. RIP Principal Flutie, we barely knew ya.
