Thankfully after it, I went back and got a decent recap, and man was that a good idea lol. Happy to see you reacting to this one, and can't wait to see your thoughts on the rest of the episodes. I think hide and seek is universal, at least we definitely play it in the UK too. Although my favorite variant is "sardines" where 1 person hides, and everyone else goes seeking. If you find the person, you have to join them in the hiding spot. The last person to discover the group is the loser. It's hilarious because you end up with all but one person crammed into the hiding spot (hence "sardines"), desperately trying to be quiet.
