Great season finale. The Gideon and Frank stuff was intense. Mandy Patinkin and Keith Carradine were so good. But I think my favorite part is the scene when a very distraught Gideon calls Hotch to tell him he wants to come in and Hotch just very calmly and quietly tells him what they need to do. It was just a small scene but it's always stuck with me for some reason. Having seen Thomas Gibson in Dharma & Greg first, I find it impressive how restrained he is in this role. Re:Hotch's leadership, I think a bureaucrat asking questions about how he's running things was probably a long time coming. But the fact is that the BAU can't be run conventionally. They can't follow protocol so strictly when they're up against the insanity of the narrative. Who knows what it's actually like in real life, but within the world of the show, Hotch is doing what has to be done. Not perfectly, but as best as he can. Looking forward to Season 3. To me, it's the season where the show solidifies into what Criminal Minds will be for the rest of its run.

2025-03-27 13:18:42 +0000 UTCThis was a great finale, I think Keith Carradine did a great job playing Frank, I also liked him on Dexter and Deadwood. This episode was stressful for sure. It was also terrible what happened to Gideon's friend he was trying to reconnect with, Sarah. Also, as much as I liked this episode, I always hate when shows bring victims back to kill them, when someone goes through the trauma they went through and survives only to be killed by someone else, I've always hated that. Rebecca went through a lot, losing her family in a fire, then being kidnapped and locked in a basement for 2 years, having to go through another fire to get out of that, before finally getting to move past that trauma and have a chance at life, only to be killed by Frank, it sucks. I think it makes sense that there looking into the BAU, a lot happened with Elle, Morgan, JJ and Reid, I think Hotch is actually a good leader, but I think it makes sense that there are questions. Great reaction, I look forward to the new season.

2025-03-27 09:20:43 +0000 UTCPoor Gideon 😩 I hate how much I love Frank as a villain. The actor plays a bad guy so well. I love when the villains put the BAU to work and that’s what Frank did. Criticizing Hotch specifically is because he’s the leader 😂😂 It makes sense to me. A leader who can’t keep his people in check should be criticized. How was Elle able to come back to work after what happened to her? How was JJ and Reid about to come back to work? It says a lot about Hotch as a leader if his people can’t get help and days off after something traumatic happens to them, if we’re being honest. Anyways, such a great season finale and an even better reaction. Can’t wait for Season 3.
