I absolutely love this episode. It’s our first real look at Heaven and it serves as a great contrast to the main setting in Hell. I really love the reveal of Vaggie being a former exorcist. There were definitely clues with how she constantly carries around an angelic spear and how she has the letter X over her eye so it was fun to see that being paid off. This episode does a great job at showing just how much of a hypocritical pathetic ass Adam is. He constantly brags about how superior he is to demons when he himself doesn’t even know how he made it into heaven. Not to mention that Sinners like Angel Dust and Sir Pentious are genuinely trying to reform while he openly admits that he’s just killing the demons for fun. Special mention should be given to Adam’s voice actor Alex Brightman, who does a fantastic job at playing the character. Plus not only does he voice Adam, but he also does Sir Pentious. It’s fun to hear him be this super douchey and annoying villain but also such a lovable dork like Pentious. My favorite part of this episode has to be the club scenes. It really shows just how much Angel has grown after Husk opened up to him. It was really sweet to see him look after Niffty while she was drunk and the scene where he stands up to Valentino was so satisfying. Side note, it should be noted that Angel mentions that his contract states that Valentino can only torture him in his studio, which explains why Val was so pissed that Angel moved to the hotel in his first scene. If he’s not living in the studio, then he can’t have complete control and dominance over him. It just really hammers home how much of a piece of shit Valentino is. Lastly, Niffty is a huge highlight of this episode for me. I love just how much of a psychotic energy she brings to the show. Niffty’s voice actress Kimiko Glenn (who you may know as Peni Parker/Anime Spider-Girl from Into the Spiderverse) does a fantastic job at bringing this adorable yet unsettling little gremlin to life. Great reaction as always and looking forward to the next one.
