The actor that plays the lead, his RL wife is the actress that plays Mrs. Brown's daughter. His RL son is on the show too just not in this episode, he plays Dermott's best friend. His(Mrs Brown actor) RL daughter in law plays Betty. I think that's right. At first I hated this show but for some reason I just kept it on in the mornings while I got my nephews ready for school. I just love it now. What makes it good isn't really the SL or anything. It's usually the scene breaking and bloopers. Since it's shot live it's just full of funny things like that. Oh, and the woman who plays Winnie, the neighbor is his RL sister. So all those sex jokes are being made between a brother and sister playing best friends.

I think the closest thing I could compare it to in the US is Mama's Family. VERY similar concept, but with cussing, 4th wall breaking, and a man instead of Vicky Lawrence lol. This show actually has a deep history preceding this sitcom. It started as Radio series, became a book series, and was adapted into a movie starring Anjelica Houston as Mrs Brown(e). The sitcom itself only has 47 episodes but has consistently been spitting them out since 2011 with another two episodes set to drop on Christmas 2024 and New Years Day 2025. They also tour a stage version (mostly around the UK and Ireland) which is massively popular. Not gonna lie, at the start, I thought you guys were gonna hate it but then you both just started cracking up and I was so happy you got it. British and Irish humor can be a little difficult for some people to take to, but you understood the assignment perfectly 🤣🤣🤣 I'm sure your love of Taskmaster has prepared you well for this moment lol.
