I think the hit on transition services could also be just straightforward targeting supports for people with disabilities. The word "disabilities" is on the search list for grants, accessibility was lumped in with DEI, and the MAGA crowd has been openly hostile toward people with disabilities. It was a big thing for a while for the right wing influencers to complain about sign language interpreters. I am not able to separate myself from all this because the education research contract I poured my life into was canceled by DOGE (2 years of work in particular wasted) and I lost my job. I no longer have any ability to find humor in the ridiculous aspects... just total depression.

Honestly shocking that this didn’t come up when making the game. I’ve designed video games in the past and the first design thought you have there is “how will players try to break this to win?”

I don't know her at all so this is just speculation based on my own experiences. Still, just on a human level, I hope she's doing ok.
