IMPORTANT: We Now Have Multiple RSS Feeds!

Update: We hear your feedback on having the option of retaining a 'unified' RSS feed, and we've passed it along to Patreon for their consideration. We will keep you updated.

To give some (perhaps useful) background on our RSS reform efforts:

Outside of people hating this show or that opinion or whatever, by far the most common complaint we've received on Patreon since we launched Last Stand in 2017 is that our universal RSS feed was too cluttered and chaotic, feeding people content they didn't necessarily want without any recourse. Indeed, the moment we launched our second podcast (KnockBack, which came after Fireside Chats), these complaints began in earnest. So we're talking about something that predates even Sacred Symbols itself. I will be dead-honest and say that I don't think I've ever seen someone say something positive about the clusterfuck of an RSS feed we currently have. Legit, not one time. So some of your affection for it is authentically surprising, as it's not something we had ever heard. I hope this alone helps explain why we wanted to make this move. We literally didn't think anyone liked it. That's our mistake, one borne out of a lack of meaningful data and input.

Over the years, it's our earnest prediction that we've shed at minimum hundreds of paying customers because of the current RSS feed. We've garnered this information anecdotally from two sources: The exit surveys people can optionally fill out when they cancel their subscription, and from other forms of correspondence that we either receive privately (like DMs) or in the public comments of our shows. For the latter example, it's not unusual for some of these comments to be 'upvoted' considerably; for exit surveys in particular, the feedback was especially unambiguous. You wouldn't see this feedback everyday, but it was consistent. It's always lingering. Solving this therefore felt like a reasonable -- and maybe even essential -- pursuit, because it was always low-level background radiation when taking feedback onboard. In a media world where we can't control very much outside of the big guns of Quality and Consistency, this seemed like something we could control, and even ameliorate. So we tried.

There are two other reasons why we thought (and frankly still think) splitting things up is the right solution. The first is that we're not just podcasters, but podcast consumers. And while I won't speak for everyone else, I loathe that Joe Rogan's MMA podcast is in the core JRE feed. It doesn't even make any sense. And when the Sunday Shows populate their feeds with random interviews and specials, it throws me off. In other words: I could (and can) actually relate to the feedback we were receiving, and was annoyed that we were being wedged into an inelegant solution. Unlike some (or perhaps a lot) of the feedback we receive, I totally got what people were saying, and endeavored to make it a priority to evangelize for it.

The second reason why we wanted to take this path is because the data clearly and vividly indicates that only a small minority of our audience listens to or watches everything we do. So why automatically serve them a set of shows they are unlikely to be consuming? Your average LSM consumer is a Sacred Symbols fan, and then segments off from there. Many actually stop there; others check out more, and even much more. Likewise, some people aren't here for Sacred Symbols, but for Defining Duke, or Summon Sign, or whatever. If I could again nebulously assign our shows letters -- A, B, C, D, E, F, and whatever -- the idea was that you could assemble those letters however you wanted: ABE, ACEF, AB, or just A. Whatever. What data we did have, in other words, helped encourage us that this move would be minimally disruptive, and far more positively received, because you could completely customize your experience. We honestly didn't see the downside. (As a consumer, I still don't, though I know this is a matter of taste.)

As promised, your feedback would be sent along to Patreon, and as such, we've alerted them as to the overwhelming response we've received. However, we don't think getting scared and unwinding this decision is the right move, because the reality is that this level of customization simply makes sense, and because we really have gotten a lot of feedback about this cumbersome and unwieldy default setup. That said, what also makes sense is to give you guys an option, what I've pitched to Patreon as a so-called "Global RSS Feed" that would incorporate everything that we publish. While I'm far from being a technical person, I find it hard to imagine it would be a difficult thing for Patreon's talented engineers to add to this new setup, so that you can pick and choose, or opt-in to all of it. But it's that term -- opt-in -- that's important. I simply don't want to hit people with a shotgun when they're looking for a grazing shot from a .38.

I will keep you updated as I hear more from Patreon. In the meantime, we appreciate your support and patience as we go through this alpha test period, allow Patreon to gather more data and feedback, and make their adjustments. I think what we'll ultimately get is a stronger product that's imbued with even more choice, but we'll need more time -- and your buy-in! -- to get there.

I'm sorry we let some of you down. That wasn't our intention; quite the opposite. If I thought this would court any controversy at all, nonetheless a somewhat considerable amount of it, I wouldn't have expended so much time and effort over the years championing this move. Believe me!

Anyway, more soon.

Our original letter is below. -Colin

Hello, and good day to you.

I come bearing great news: After literally years of begging Patreon, we are finally getting multiple RSS feed functionality, a huge win for audio listeners. If you’re one of the thousands of LSM Patreon subscribers that uses RSS to ingest our content, it’s vital that you read and understand the following, so that you experience no disruptions to your regular podcast-enjoying experience. If you don’t use RSS, on the other hand, you’re free to go on your merry way, as your experience won’t change at all.

As you’re already aware if you use RSS here on Patreon, a unified feed was the only option. This meant that a Last Stand Media-branded feed would send all of our podcasts to your app-of-choice, even if you didn’t want to listen to Show X or Y, and only A and B. This will no longer be the case: Shows X, Y, A, B, and whatever other arbitrary letter found on an SNES controller can now be subscribed to and accessed via RSS as individual products. This is a huge win, but it’s also going to take just a little work on your part.

(Before we get any further, it’s worth noting that multiple RSS feed functionality on Patreon is in a test alpha, which we’ve been invited to along with a half-dozen-ish other creators. So this isn’t available elsewhere yet, and because it’s being tested, you may experience some technical issues. However, we don’t expect that to be the case. Just a fair warning, though. Should you have any trouble, please let us know so we can pass word along to Patreon.)

So, here’s how it’s gonna go:

The unified RSS feed that currently exists will now be the feed for Sacred Symbols only, and thus will update once a week. While we had the option to squash the existing feed completely and start fresh, we figured keeping it and rebranding it would be the best way to keep people engaged with our flagship show while causing minimum disruption. So if that’s what you’re primarily here for, you’ll still get Sacred sent to you, but without any of the other shows affixed.

To access the RSS feeds for Sacred Symbols+, Defining Duke, Summon Sign, Punching Up, and Constellation, you will need to subscribe to the new RSS feeds for those various shows. Naturally, this means that you can grab whatever permutation of shows from our network makes sense for you. If you want Sacred Symbols and Sacred Symbols+ only, do that. If you want all of the console shows only, do that. You get the idea. It’s entirely up to you to customize your experience, which is awesome.

New RSS links can be found exactly where the old one was. Whether on the app or on the web, merely go to your Membership page and grab your custom RSS links at your leisure. Keep in mind that all RSS links remain customized by user and support tier.

That’s pretty much it. Dustin is taking care of everything else, and we’re hoping things go swimmingly for all of you out there.

Our long national nightmare is over! May multiple RSS feeds reign!

With love, -Colin

Did you see!? It’s back. Thank the gods.

Yes i am. Frustrating

Robert bennett

I don't know if this thread is even being monitored anymore but is there an ETA on when the unified feed is coming back? I absolutely hate how cluttered my podcast library has become. I liked listening to everything in order of release because for me, I was listening to an episode of and LSM show. Not all of these separate disjointed shows. As someone who drives a lot for work and does most of my podcast listening that way, it absolutely sucks that episodes just don't keep playing now. Now an episode will end and while driving, I have to pull out my phone to find the next episode by scrolling through 7 separate RSS feeds. Kind of dangerous. Yes I know this is a very niche issue but it's an issue nonetheless. Also, if it wasn't for the unified feed, I would have never even given something like Knockback a chance. I didn't even know of its existence until I subbed and it started downloading automatically with Scared. The separate feeds limit discoverability. To the people that are saying they hated seeing shows the didn't listen to pop up in there feeds, it really wasn't that hard to press mark as played on a show and then it disappears from the feed forever. Takes two clicks. If something like that bothers you, then life is going to be really rough for some of you when you encounter something that is truly a real inconvenience. With all that being said, if the unified feed is not coming back, please let us know so I know to cancel my pledge before I get charged for another month.

Sean Nijima

I cannot find sacred symbols+ episodes in the Apple Podcasts app since they separated the feeds. The Last Stand Media channel only shows Sacred Symbols, Defining Duke, and Knockback. I was able to find Summon Sign and Punching Up separately. But no where to be seen is Sacred Symbols+. Anyone else having this issue?

Jeffrey Nooney

That link is definitely there in the Patreon app!

Joe Piervincenti

Yes, there's a copy RSS link when you're on the Patreon page, it's in the upper right when you're in the Patreon app on the LSM feed.

Joe Piervincenti

Nevermind, just access patreon on your mobile web browser instead of the app.

Kiryu-Chan

I'm having this exact issue, but my podcast app of choice doesn't support a web browser so there is literally no way (that I'm aware) for me to access any show aside from Sacred Symbols.

Kiryu-Chan

From my perspective, the issue with the change was just communication. There was not a lot of lead up, or communication in the actual episodes about the change. I did not realize the global feed was going away, and I would have to go and add all the episodes separately. so I missed some content. Once it came up in the episode I noted the other shows missing, and I had to take 5 minutes to add all the feeds to my app, which was inconvenient, but no big deal. I agree with Colin, separating them out is the right move and the best way to move forward. The lesson about communication is a good one, and the exact kind of thing Patreon is looking for with these test runs. Love and peace, everyone.

Andrew Clark

Maybe I’m stupid but is there a way to find the rss links from patreon on the app or do you have to access patreon on the website to do so?

PairOfShuse

Any ETA on Unified Feeds?

Rex Cohen

I can't believe so many people are crying over this and complaining about how "painful" it is. It just took me less than 5 minutes to get all the RSS Feeds added. Such babies

Matthew Skora

All the links are right there in the "Add to Podcast App" section. It's super simple to copy and paste on browser, or just click the links in the apps and it takes you right to the app of choice to add it.

Matthew Skora

Not a huge fan of splitting them up as while I didn't watch everything. I did occassionly pop into other shows besides defining duke when the topics interested me. But overall I can live with the change. However, what was annoying was that the change wasn't brought up in multiple shows leading up to it actually happening. I just thought it was an off week and I missed that they were taking a week off when I didn't see a new defining duke in my feed. It was only after not seeing two episodes that i looked closer and saw i hadn't gotten anything for a couple weeks.

Parker Petrov

Hey y'all. I'm a 1 dollar patron for the ad free feeds. The personal RSS feeds are not updating as quick as the free feeds now. I still don't see Punching Up latest episode in my personal feed.

Garret Bland

Dude I think I just needed to update my app lol my bad. Disregard!

Cooper Howard

Damn Collin, this is what happens when you cultivate a more right leaning audience. They really do hate change. LOL

Seth

Well the plus now is if you are looking for the episode of Constellation or SS+ you are in the mood for you can simply look through a clean list of episodes of that specific show instead of a giant clusterfuck like it was before. I do the same thing where I will listen to a random episode of constellation depending on my own feeling and with this now I can easily find the perfect episode for me to dive into easier without scrolling through page after page of bullshit I'm not looking for.

Seth

100

Daniel

Really? Click the breadcrumb menu on the LSM account and select "add to podcast app" and it literally shows the apps available, select and it shows you all the shows and "add" links? I've just done it myself from the Patreon App to Apple Podcasts.

Daniel

PSA: I wasn’t able to subscribe to the individual feeds through the Patreon app on iOS. I had to log into the browser on mobile and do it that way.

Cooper Howard

This is an absolutely terrible change. Having to go through and plug in multiple RSS links is a pain. Sometimes I listen to one episode of a particular show that I usually do not consume because the subject or topic interests me. A single RSS feed helps me stay organized and simplifies everything on my podcast feed. Multiple RSS feeds does nothing but make more work for your audience.

Rex Cohen

This is actually perfect! thank you so much I only consume Scared Symbols and Scared Symbols+, I have auto download new episodes on. Using the previous global RSS feed I would regularly just download so much that I'd run out of space pretty quickly. This makes things so much cleaner and less cluttered.

Sharlock93

This is the worst part. Really dislike this change :’(

Brett Medlock

I've been pretty quiet the 5 years I've had this subscription but the split feeds was a horrible idea. I understand some people want to be subscribed to 5 different shows but I want everything in one place and if I choose to listen or not listen to a show that should be my choice. You can't even access this new RSS feed, patreon only gives just the one for Sacred Symbols. Now I am just losing content for what is being paid.

Jeremy Kratka

It’s the whole vocal minority thing, why would I mention about the unified feed if it’s not a problem for me

DanGran

I had a list and could tell what shows I needed to catch up on. I now have no idea. Oof

DanGran

This is nice. But I worry about missing a new show. I don't always catch all the episodes and I'm sometimes distracted when listening at times so I could miss a baked-in announcement mid-show. I don't even really check patreon posts, I'm only here because Colin mentioned it. I also lament the loss of my listen history. In particular, plus and constellation, which I don't listen to in order but instead I graze on at random as the mood strikes me. I'd now have to dig through the new feeds to try and work out what I have and haven't listened to - pretty annoying! I can understand the change, but springing it upon us with 0 notice is uncool. I would have much preferred keeping the current feed url as the unified one, and then letting us opt in to the split feeds or something. But lacking that, I would have appreciated at least a week's heads up. This would have allowed me to at least snapshot which episodes I have and haven't listened to. (If there was a heads up in the shows or in a patreon post and I missed it, then I guess that's on me and I apologise.)

Ycros

understandable to not want change, I missed a few episodes of different podcasts because of it too, since I don't like too many notifications from Patreon lol.. hopefully he'll figure out a way to have both options for people. I'm just happy that I don't have to use a separate app anymore for LSM stuff lol

Joe Piervincenti

Reading through these comments is painful. Grow the fuck up everyone.

crybaby

I can't get it to work on Spotify, can now only get Sacred Symbols in my Spotify feed.

Michael Turner

So far, trying to navigate Patreon to get the different feeds set up has been an incredibly frustrating experience. The app isn’t helpful and the website (at least within Safari) is intermittently responsive. Guess I’ll just stick with Sacred Symbols for now. Really hope the unified feed is enabled again.

Logan Sharp

Yeah, if this change would’ve applied to me on Patreon itself (currently houses all episodes of LSM content in one feed with a watch history and then playlists to separate shows from there), I’d probably just switch to free feeds.

Bartevious

Sure seems to be. What Colin and Co. failed to consider with this is that - people who want unified RSS feeds this whole time will have said nothing, because that is the default. Now that it’s taken away, there are hundreds upon hundreds of people flooding in as they realize the change and their watch history being deleted. I believe they had said only a small amount of hundreds had left over the years due to lack of individual RSS.

Bartevious

Well I suppose that's my point. If I was just a happy patron/listener why did things have to change for me? And if things had to change, a simple summary at the top of this post would have been helpful. I had to wait until I realised the latest ep of Constellation was missing from my feed and then investigate why it was missing. I sound like I'm really upset. I promise I'm not. Maybe just slightly agitated lol

mcarbra

not really sure why this bothers people so much.. I actually liked having a unified feed, and one little swipe was all I had to do if I missed an episode, that being said it seems pretty clear most people don't get Patreon notifications so had no idea of the change, myself included at first lol

Joe Piervincenti

there really isn't anything different to do, you just have to get the links for the feeds separately now...

Joe Piervincenti

I would appreciate a TLDR at the top to say exactly what's changed and what I need to do

mcarbra

I just want to share that I have really enjoyed the change. It took maybe 30mins add everything into my podcast app and get the individual feeds to show what I still need to listen to. I love having them broken down though and can find things alot easier

Joshua Pierstorff

I've tried pairing the rss feeds through patreon to Spotify about 10 times. It says 'subscribed' on each channel (DD, SS, constellations, etc) but when I leave each channel respectively and go back in, I am no longer subscribed. In the last Sacred, Colin mentioned this all went off without a hitch, but I am clearly encountering a bug. It is frustrating because right now I have no recourse other than to wait and hope it gets fixed.

ZiggyFeelGoods

This feels so backwards. It would make more sense to have just kept that original feed as the "global feed" you are now trying to create. Then build all the individual custom stuff separately. Like why destroy the foundation to then try to build it again? It just seems so obvious to me that you wouldn't tamper with the established thing. I can't imagine how many people will be wondering for days or weeks why their shows aren't updating especially if they don't read the Patreon posts or hear the explanation on Sacred.

Father of Vash

We're all only getting the Sacred Symbols feed integrated into Spotify, right?

Braden Roe

Thanks for your reply. I managed to find the correct links through a web browser on desktop. The patreon app only shows me one link in the 'add to podcast app' menu.

Clayton Taylor

Hi. All other Podcasts I'm subscribed to, that migrated to multiple RSS feeds had always used the original RSS for the unified list, while introducing new feeds for each channel. Its all good for me, I prefer the unified list but its not a problem to have individual feeds. How about asking Patreon to allow alpha / beta features to a subset of customers who accept experimental features in the patreon settings?

icurafuse

that's what happens with the unified feed now... for me with pocket casts, the only URL's they have in Patreon now, the link for each podcast, get work fine for me now, which is ironic because the unified feed didn't work at all, had to try a different app... are you sure you're going to the patron page and clicking "add to podcast app"?

Joe Piervincenti

Don't hate the idea but the multiple feeds are not working for me. I copy the only RSS link available to me from patreon into my podcast app and it only adds Sacred Symbols :( I'm able to add all shows via spotify but I don't use that.

Clayton Taylor

This sucks.

Luke Schoenmaker

I completely take back my complaints, the unified app wouldn't work in my Pocket Casts app, but now I can put the select individual podcasts I always listen to the most in there, and ignore the rest... so now it's even better for me!

Joe Piervincenti

what trouble are you having with your podcast app? I actually find that while I hated the change initially, they actually work now in my preferred app, Pocket Casts, when the unified feed didn't...

Joe Piervincenti

Well I guess I'll add my whining to this. It's just not working for me to use individual RSS feeds. I don't know if it's a Patreon issue or not, and I'm not gonna worry about it as this is a testing phase anyway. I am one of those who listens to most of all the shows, so one unified rss feed was perfect for me. I guess that means I'll using the Patreon app itself to listen, which is fine, but this Patreon app just isn't t as good as my podcast app. Thanks, whiners.

Garage Dragon

I didn’t even realize the episodes were missing until the new podcast but I haven’t been getting the Spotify notifications.

Haisten Smith

You've really put all of us in a situation, LSM.

Jonny Sousa

Why did this erase my history and introduce more steps to curate my feed for me? Definitely a downgrade, please fix this.

Joe Schmieley

They said it was the minority on the show so 🤷🏻. I guess whenever I heard them talk about separate feeds or wouldn't interrupt what we already had to begin with so I never said anything about it. Didn't think it would change on my end

ADavidToRemember

Going to add to the voices here that this is a significant downgrade for me. Hopefully we get an option for a unified feed back.

Ahmed Mian

I ended up doing the same thing. It works fine but is a bit more work than having them all on one feed. Unfortunate it deleted my list of shows I hadn’t listened to yet. I was able to go back and add most of them. Not a huge fan of not having a choice for unified feed but at least the station feature on Apple Podcasts allows us to keep the shows together

Dave A.

I feel like your opinion is the majority

Brett Medlock

It really sucks losing my multiple years worth of watch history but seems this was Patreon’s fault more than anything else. Is what it is I guess

Braxton Wilkerson

Don't like how this basically erased my history. News shows like Sacred Symbols and Punching Up I would listen to as they came out, but more evergreen shows like SS+ and constellations I would play more randomly. Now there's no way to easily tell which ones I have or haven't listed to.

Migical Merwee

I was using the unified feed to try out new last stand media podcast. Or dip in and out depending on the topic. I think you may lose some amount of discovery. Also all my watched history is gone which sucks. Anyway, I’ll deal with it but I can see it making me listen to things other than secret symbols less Practically my life won’t change much, 90% of what I listened two was just sacred symbols and +. Also you already have me as a paying customer and I’m not about to stop haha

Conor McIntosh

I’m an old person that needs a unified feed 😕

David Speer

Yes!!! Thank you!! Ive been wanting this to happen for a long time

Bryan Alfonso

+1 I’m also a patron of another show that is in this multiple feed beta and they had similar feedback from their audience about how some liked the unified feed. For what it’s worth, they said they heard from Patreon that after this change, a unified feed is an engineering challenge because it would involve the creator double posting or something. Doesn’t really pass the sniff test for me but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

EQ

There is only two real issues. First on the Patreon app it only has the rss feed link for sacred symbols. The second issue is my watch history it is now gone which was important to me. Some folks were listening from behind and trying to listen to every piece of content until they were caught up that goal has been utterly destroyed.

Cloyd Brown

they said they can't.

Guybrush Threepwood

Unified rss preserved LSM's history.

ZiggyFeelGoods

I hope we can get the global rss feed soon. Having to add all the shows back seems excessive. Having that many extra icons for one sub is killing my ocd

Chris B

Not a fan of the new change. I had everything under the Last Standard Umbrella in my Apple app. Now I have to go find each individual show’s RSS link? Also if this was going to be the case: having each show’s RSS link in centralized place would have been nice instead of us having to go search them out? SS and SS+ were the only shows to survive the purge. Patron’s in app instructions don’t seem to be doing anything. I go to my membership and add what it has available for me, but then it’s just the SS SS+.

Thecraftygamer

Can anyone confirm if the rss is bugged out on Spotify right now? My shit is acting wild.

ZiggyFeelGoods

Listening to the latest sacred symbols now. I didn't even realize my feed was all messed up from this change. I agree with the minority. I guess that I vastly prefer the unified RSS feed because I listened to most of the shows and just scroll by the Nintendo ones. Every time a show would end. The next one in chronological order would play and it was easy. Now I probably miss shows I didn't even know about. I see that's being worked on though. Thank you. I hope it's Swift

ADavidToRemember

I am hating this…unified feed was so important for me, but I guess you can’t always win!

Felipe

I wonder if this will affect overall performance for each show? With how much LSM shows get mixed in with all the other non-LSM podcasts I listen to now, surely way more LSM content will slip through the cracks.

Brett Medlock

Hey Colin. While listening to the new episode, I just wanted to express my support for the multiple rss feeds. It’s great because I just like to keep my podcasts in order. I rarely listen to the Dukes and Constellation and it always kinda annoyed me that these shows are spamming into my feed. Now I can just put into my feed whatever I like. If there is a certain episode of the Dukes I wanna listen to, I can just go into the feed, but keep everything else clean. It took me about 10 minutes to copy the new feeds and mark every episode of my usual shows as played. I guess it’s all just a personal preference, but as I said, I just wanted to show up as a supporter. Keep up the good work.

xDanielx

I hope the unified feed is back soon. That many shows is way too cluttered for my brain to accept 😅So I'll be SS SS+ and Summoning Sign only for a while

Scott Adcock

I’m listening to SS and Colin explaining this and the backlash. I don’t see the issue but could be how well the Apple podcast app works. I have a section called Latest Episodes. All the podcasts I subscribe to have the new episodes added. If I want to listen to them I’ll download them (in case I listen to with no internet). If I don’t want to listen I mark them as played and they remove from the Latest Episodes section. With the multiple feeds I just do the same thing. Good luck to Colin and team to make everyone happy. I appreciate the shows you put out.

Trevor B.

I only now see it in the app, like you I had to go to website. Maybe this feature is rolling out incrementally in general.

Zack E

I had to get my Spotify options by going to the Patreon website and not my iOS app. Fwiw I actually do now see the Spotify options in my iOS app

Zack E

I hate this because I feel like the most hardcore of followers are being forced to defend a simple position. We didn’t not only care about the unified feed, we liked it. And it’s not simply about us listening to every single thing - I do not. But the concept of here is this unfiltered steam of LSM content is appealing. Please, please LSM understand the issue here. This isn’t a devastating deal altogether but future changes need to consider all possible ramifications. Also - the multiple feeds are great! That isn’t the issue!

Zack E

Yep, it may be alpha/beta for them but it’s a big wtf. It’s their implementation and it’s their job to not put the creators that were asking for this feature in this position. Just inexperience ultimately

Zack E

My issue also just annoying it cluttering up my Spotify with so many shows rather than just the one last stand media it’s super annoying.

Dylan Charles

Bring back the everything feed it’s Annoying having to add them and seeing so many podcasts in the list just cluttering up my Spotify is there a way I can make it just one big feed again eg excatly how it was before they changed it. In the long run I’ll probably just remove them all and only listen to the OG show due to the clutter seems like a small Issue but my Spotify is super clean playlists etc and it kills me OCD seeing these shows instead of the one.

Dylan Charles

No problem glad you figured it out. It’s not as easy as it should be for sure.

Sergio Pina

As much as liked the unified feed, and as annoying as it was to go back and resave my favorite episodes I like to go back to listen to like spoilercasts and discussion, this isn’t the end of the world for me, but I can see where others find this annoying. If anything it’s the total lack of communication elsewhere outside of Patreon that is very unlike LSM and Colin that has me shocked. The only reason I found out was because I just realized I hadn’t had a new show pop up in the last few days and came here and found out. No Tweet from Colin, Dustin or the LSM account letting us know. It’s a good thing I noticed or I would have fallen far behind.

Sergio Pina

If you’re an Apple Podcasts user, you can use the station feature to group the shows together and get more of a unified experience. Still need to gather all the individual feeds, but looks like you can set it up yourself and get the experience you want while waiting for a global solution. Hope this helps someone. https://support.apple.com/guide/podcasts/create-and-manage-a-station-poddc095ed0b/mac

Donovan

Probably the only criticism I have is that the change was implemented without a heads up. It would have been nice to be warned that we would have to adjust ahead of time. Maybe due to the timing it wasn't feasible, so I appreciate that you did your best to guide all of us of how to get the feeds added.

Billy Wright

In software we call this a backwards incompatible change. I really blame Patreon here and not Last Stand. What should have happened is the global feed everyone received should have persisted. Users should have been able to opt in to the new functionality. How could they think that absolutely no one liked the global feed? It’s a very silly assumption.

Chris

I prefer the one feed at this point because it doesn't clutter my Spotify. However, I wouldn't have known that would be an issue until the individualized RSS links were launched. I'm also just not used to it, I'm sure it will be fine after some time and not too big of a deal. Think of anytime something like Facebook has a big update, everyone hates it, then eventually forgets.

Jdummann92

I for one am really glad to have the separate feeds. It allows me to control notification and download settings individually for each show.

Josh Bailey

Yeah I get where some folks are coming from, but this seems like an overall positive imo. For me recently, 90% of the time, I'll refresh my feed then scan for the latest summon sign or sacred. Now I could choose only those 2 relatively easily. I understand this wasn't really an option, but seems it would have been a better rollout if the old feed was left in the previous state of serving us all podcasts. Then I could just unsubscribe from that one if I wanted to go for the individual feeds. Instead I'm kinda forced into doing something. I wonder how this effects metrics on the non-sacred podcasts since if I took no action I would only be served Sacred symbols on my feed. I imagine the RSS feed subscribers aren't the majority of listeners though! Cheers!

Trevor

I don't mind the multiple links, but good god Patreon makes everything so much more difficult. I am logged in to Patreon and the 3 dots on the top right only provide 3 options: gift membership, block this creator or report this creator....What the hell am I missing.

Julien Delorme

I hate this.

The Rose Experience

Imo I prefer the unified LSM feed but change is a thing and it is what it is I guess. Sorry to say but you can't please everyone 100% of the time so don't take the complaints to heart Big C. 👍

Limawhiskey

The fix if you can’t see all the feeds: go to Patreon in the web on your phone instead of the app! Then go to last stand page and scroll a little, the 3 dots will be there in the upper right corner!

Kyle

I understand people wanting a "decluttered" multiple RSS feeds. Personally this has never been an issue. It's easy for me to scroll down and read the episode names all in one feed. Multiple feeds are cumbersome to me. Now I have to think about when the episodes release, refresh the feeds, read the episode name, and then determine whether to play it or not. Keeping both options is ideal, but I prefer 1 unified.

Garret Bland

And for the actual decision I like this most for going into the old Knockbacks I missed back in the day because I hadn't played the game that was being discussed so this is way cleaner for that but otherwise it didn't matter between this or all of them combined I listen to everything but defining duke's and I'll watch that if I have caught up on everything. This is important for legacy of each podcast, not if you keep up week to week because that's never been a pain to me.

lunarpizza

I like the patreon option to add to podcast app rather than having to copy and paste the rss feed i found the first time I did it I had trouble because it didn't pop up first time for some reason. This made it fairly easy not sure if that's new but new since I needed it.

lunarpizza

It only has one feed when I do that. There aren’t multiple options, just the master feed(I’m using Apple Podcasts)

Kyle

Where? What setting is it hidden in?

Nick Vieu

Multiple rss feeds not working atm. I understand the reasoning behind the change but I don’t like having the choice taken away. Let us choose (if possible) whether we want a unified or separate rss feed

Andrew Crouch

You can do it in the app.

Aladin_Slow

All my shows are gone! Only sacred symbols is appearing in my feed now! does that mean I need an individual one for every single show?? I'm not doing that lol

Morgan

I've gone from the cleanest possible UI imaginable with the Spotify unified rss to the absolute shitshow that is patreon with a video and audio link for every video with this big bulky thumbnail filling my screen with every link. *insert biggest piece of dogshit Dwayne the rock Johnson meme*

ZiggyFeelGoods

I can’t acesss the rss link to the other feeds

Jigszone

I think it removed the rss links and “reset”. So basically you have to redo your rss feeds through the browser? Idk it fucked all my shit up too lol

Nick Vieu

Adding RSS feeds to Spotify isn’t a simple change in the app. You have to open the browser and log in and sift through the settings to find it. It’s kind of a pain in the ass. This update fucked my shit and now I have to go in and do it all over all again for every show individually? Nah I’ll pass lol

Nick Vieu

I never had strong feelings on it, but I like the multiple feeds now. Ideally you'd be able to do both: one unified feed and individual feeds, but I get that's probably harder than it sounds on Patreon's end.

Peter K

You're 100% right.

Justin Jackson

Bring back the unified feed. I listen to almost everything so I don't need feeds for every single show.

Justin Jackson

Is it just me, or are you all getting ads when listening on Spotify after this?

ajwhite

My fucking god! THANK YOU! The 3 dots do not exist until I scroll down. It's the patreon icon at first. Not click able. Scroll down and then it morphs into 3 dots. Who the fuck designed this shit! Again. Thank you man!

Cristian Colta

OMG multiple feeds is so much better. THANK YOU!

Sean Alec

On the main screen with all the shows on the top right click the 3 dots, then click add to podcast app. Pick you app, then select the show you want and it’ll give you a link to paste into your app of choice. Thats how I did it and it worked on iOS anyways

Sergio Pina

People are just being crybabies because it’s a minor change to how they’ve been viewing the content. This is absolutely the right move and you shouldn’t backtrack at all.

Mason Mackey

Really like this update!

Peter Jansen

Appreciate the update but it also misses the point slightly. People, myself included, never felt the need to say anything about the RSS feed because we liked having everything (I consume all shows). And the RSS conversion has always been spoken about as an additional option for those who only want a few shows. Never has it been communicated that in order to get multiple RSS feeds, the all-in-one would be lost/removed. If this had been communicated, as has been made clear here, the feedback and enjoyers of the ‘Global RSS’ would have spoken up. This reads slightly like the blame is being put on the consumer/listener for not speaking up even though it was never relevant to do so. I’m still going to listen, just takes some extra rather annoying steps to do so. PS, I listen on Spotify and the premium (no ads) service isn’t working and new episodes don’t appear early. And ads are on the episodes too. Kind Regards

Jacko

yeah but this also includes shows from the many other feeds I follow, which I'd rather didn't mix with LSM (which is may pod consumption). I love that LSM had a 'prime' feed with all the great shows in order.

KDB

Yes. It's a useless help page. None of the things they say there exist in the app

Cristian Colta

Same. I had years of shows saved in case I want to go back and listen to them - which I do often for nostalgia and the great conversation - and I had to take about an hour or so going through all the feeds and saving all those episodes again.

Sergio Pina

Click the links Colin added where Patreon has a “where to find rss feeds”. That how I figured it out.

Sergio Pina

Anybody know where I can find the feeds in this fucking useless app?

Cristian Colta

This sounds great. Unfortunately, I have spent the last half-hour frustrated, trying to look up how to add RSS feeds to Spotify again. I’m only finding information for creators — not listeners. This is a headache. Edit: I figured it out. All things considered, I’m grateful that the most stressful part of my week has been over a podcast.

John

I wish we could have kept the unified feed along with the separate ones. However, a minor inconvenience and that is all the complaining I will do and move on with my life. I’m just thankful I saw this post in my emails since I don’t often come to the patreon website.

Daniel Pena

For those who prefer the unified feed, both Spotify and Apple Podcasts have specific views within the app so that you can get a version of that. It will include other podcasts you follow, so it might not be ideal for some, but it could be even better for others. Whatever your case is, I hope this helps you. In Spotify, tap "Podcasts" in the top menu and then "Following" to get a reverse chronological order view of all the podcasts you follow. On Apple Podcasts, tap "Library" and "Latest Episodes." On that view, you can tap the "…" button on the top right corner to customize it to your liking. I'm unfamiliar with other podcast apps, but I'm sure they will have similar features.

Fer

Have you tried using Patreon web? I just made a comment a bit ago, then tried finding things out for myself and it works on the web version. It seems here in the app is maybe not updated or something yet.:)

Emil M

This is still bit confusing to me. I'm on Samsung phone and using the Antennna Pod app. I've the RSS Link for just Sacred Symbols, which seems to work find. But I cannot seem to find the links for the other shows here? It's still being updated perhaps? EDIT: So, it seems to get multiple feeds I had to use Patreon on web, here on app no multiple links for the show. Albeit, a bit tedious with the multiple feeds it is a smart solution if you don't listen to all the shows. For example, I don't like Constellation so having the option to filter it out from my feed is a nice feature.

Emil M

Great for those who wanted it, but please for the love of god, give us a unified single RSS feed as an option .

Patrick Lebon

I dont like that change. I cant find the other feeds

Ronny Keil

This is terrible. I don’t even know where all the links are

Cloyd Brown

They said they'll bring it up to Patreon on the next meeting.

Aladin_Slow

Yeah I didn’t think it would mean the feed I’ve been enjoying would disappear.

Drew Agnew

Hey team, I just come here when I noticed DD didn’t download for me today. I do listen to all the shows and I’m a bit bummed out that it seems to have just suddenly ended. I actually liked I wasn’t subscribed to a heap of podcasts and that it all comes through the one feed. Guess I should have expressed that earlier when the others were complaining. 😅

Drew Agnew

I thought the "shhh" and "at least until the 3 came out" made it pretty obvious that I am not that invested and was playing around while sharing my opinion. If they want to switch back to appease the angry mob that appears to be forming, I really don't mind at all.

Seth

Kinda hypocritical to complain about the unified feed, and then in the same post tell people who liked the unified feed not to complain.

Joseph Gedgaudas

Yeah this happened to me too, I have a shitty dumbphone so if something went off of the 1st page of my podcast app, I was skipping that weeks show because it would take a literal hour to go to the next page because of all the content LOL

Seth

Very much hyped for multiple feeds. Thanks for getting this set up

Anthony Maltese

The only phone I have is a LightPhone 2, and when I use the combined RSS feed with everything it completely breaks the phone because it is too much content. I would love to stop listening exclusively on my work computer, so I am pretty happy you guys are splitting the RSS feed up. Anyone who is complaining please shhh. (At least until the 3 come out in a few months) Thanks! Edit: Holy shit I just read more of the other comments, good on LSM for "changing the RSS feed" being the biggest controversy in its history. It shows you how well taken care of us fans have been LOL.

Seth

I have never commented, but this is an unnecessary and minorly annoying change. As someone that went from free feeds to a subscriber of the Patreon, I really enjoyed having everything in one place. Now I have to keep track of multiple feeds along side all the other podcasts I subscribe to (but admittedly don't listen to). At least for me, now it's guaranteed that I will lose track of the last stand podcasts and will inevitably miss episodes. And if I find myself not listening I will eventually unsub. I'm sure I'm not the only one that's subscribed to many podcasts, but in my case, using podcast addict the pods are really easy to skip over when scrolling through all the icons/cover arts. And no dig to Dagan but the pod icons don't stand out that much and just all melt together when scrolling through.

Adrian

The major complaint that I have is that the united feed created a comprehensive history of LSM since it's inception. I took an interest in working through the content since it's inception. With the new format, it is currently impossible (i think) to view a complete list of content in order of release. This is niche complaint I'm using Spotify

ZiggyFeelGoods

I feel the same about Defining Duke, nothing against Matty and Cog. I just don't have much interest in Xbox, but every now and then an episode piqued my interest while I was scrolling the Last Stand feed.

Devin

You could say the same thing about why the change was made in the first place.

Devin

I'm shocked that this is such a controversial change. I've been hyped for multiple RSS feeds ever since it was mentioned as a possibility. People are saying that this clutters things up, but I completely disagree. The unified feed was a cluttered mess of other shows, and if I was a few weeks behind, it was hard to even find the most recent SS episode. This way there will never be a doubt. In a perfect world, I think it should be an option, but I think this will be something that people will enjoy once they get used to it.

William Outlaw

I must be an idiot. I can’t figure out how to get the other feeds. I’ve tried 3 times, and given up. 🥴

Cliff Boyd

I really didn’t want to have to go subscribe to each feed…now I guess I’ll hold off and wait to see if it’s coming back.

B Saunders

Been a supporter for 5 years. This is my first comment ever. This sucks. I listen to every show when I have time to so episodes usually build up. I loved listening to each different show in order of releasing. I liked hearing conversations bleed into different shows when the same people are on multiple shows in a row. Now it's going to be harder to keep track of what to listen to in what order. Plus it kept my podcast feed tidy. Now it's an absolute mess. I know Colin said that he has never heard anyone say anything positive about the unified feed but that's because people only complain about things they don't like. The people who liked the unified feed like myself, had nothing to complain about. Now that's been flipped. Also, a little bit of warning would have been nice. I hope the unified feed comes back. Until then, I'm taking a pause on listening to the shows.

Sean Nijima

I never ever comment. But I hate this….all shows in one place was perfect. Now I got 4 feeds to see if I got something to listen too.

Jonny Blair

All these fools acting like my username

crybaby

Thanks for making this change. The unified feed sucked. RIP in peace. ☠️

Jon Devine

Shit true, guess im lucky i had them downloaded. I have a couple spoiler casts from years ago still saved cuz i didn't play the game yet haha

Adam Trembath

And now the episodes I had saved to listen to later have disappeared from my playlist. That is fucking great!

Dave A.

Hey Colin, I know angry folks tend to be the only ones who post, so just wanted to let you know I am so happy with this change. As a SS & SS+ exclusive listener I’m glad I’ll finally be able to have podcasts auto download instead of start episodes out streaming or downloading manual.(such a waste of bandwidth and storage to have to download every show). Plus, i feel it’s so easy for stuff to get buried in a unified RSS. Great work!

Chase Moroni

Not a fan of the change. I like having all the shows in one place. I could just save the episodes I wanted to listen to. Easy to track. Seems this was made to appease the casual listener who only cares about one show. Local minority wins again

Dave A.

Dam, why did we have to screw one side to please the other.

Adam Trembath

Just resubscribed because of the multiple rss feeds.

Jam

This is great and I’m happy for everybody that’s happy about it, but I really liked having one unified feed for everything, it kept my overall feed from being a cluttered mess. I listen to all the shows so instead of 1 icon I have 8. I totally get why people want multiple feeds and I’m glad the option is there now, but I wish it was an opt in thing. When the topic of rss feeds came up on the show I never said anything because I figured multiple rss feeds would be additive to the current option, not the replacement.

out_of_focus_bigfoot

Totally hear and understand your reasoning for going this route. I'm probably one of the silent folks who loved and used the unified feed. I skipped the episodes I didn't want to listen to and kept moving forward. I was part way through the Shuhei interview and now I'm not even sure where to find it. I'll use whatever system is right for you guys - Definitely came as a surprise to me though as I'd happily been using it the way it was. But go forth! And I shall be there.

kyle disanjh

You never thought that the people who preferred a unified feed never spoke up about it because that was the only option and they were already being served? This is a really disappointing update.

Celery

"Can’t read too much into the loud minority." 100%. Colin has said they may have lost 100s of paying customers because of the unified feed... yet they still have what, 15k paying subs? Catering to a few hundred is bold AF. Like you say, you can so easily just scroll past! Now I'm going to see the other shows way less too, and as someone who listens to most the content, this is bad.

KDB

First time ever commenting…please bring back the unified feed. 😭. You can literally just scroll past the podcasts you don’t want. I don’t usually listen to the Nintendo podcast but with the unified feed I would jump in if a particular episode looked intriguing. Same with constellation if the topics looked fun. Can’t read too much into the loud minority.

Nader Nekvasil

yeah I was in the middle of listening to some old SS and it just vanished. Though my app was broken. Many people won't even understand what's happened. This was such a weird move and has messed up a lot of people's feeds. Others can say how "easy" it is to fix and re-add shows all they like, this doesn't change the fact what was once a simple feed of all LSM shows is now spread across multiple feeds that you have to hunt through, going back and forth. Wild really.

KDB

I personally hate this change, but I guess I’m in the minority?

Topper Harley

I feel really bad for the guys because there is zero way this doesn’t lead to fewer listens on ALL shows other than maybe sacred symbols. People are busy and aren’t going to remember to go through the steps of adding back shows.

Michael

It’s a sad situation because they did what they thought was most wanted. But having to “google how to add back all the shows you listen to each week” is not fun. I feel really bad for the shuhei interview getting fewer listens because of this. Because it’s not on the main sacred feed, right? It deleted it from my list and kept erasing my progress. I guess because sacred plus has its own feed now?

Michael

A simple concept. Glad you're amused and we've both wasted our time. lol.

KDB

lol @ "the inefficiency"

Teddy Bear Syrup

Exactly. Sure, it's a first world problem but it's something I used literally every single day and worked perfectly. Now it's all split off. I don't get how this easier. If people were literally leaving the patreon BECAUSE of the unified feed, then I don't really know what to say. I don't get how one feed is more inconvenient than many. Colin referenced joe rogan having MMA shows in his feed. So what? Scroll past? It's objectively easier than having to move to a new feed.

KDB

Throwing my name in the ringer of vastly preferring a unified feed. I listen to everything almost daily and it has everything under one umbrella. You heard a small minority complaining but the vast majority never said anything because they were content with the status quo!

BigArty

It's the inconvenience of it, before it was click on the app, click on the feed, and everything was there ready to go, what was upcoming, what I'd listened to, what id missed. Now... it's definitely not the case, and very inconvenient... it's LSM's Helldrivers moment.

Gareth Rigden

Then you're just inherently fine with inefficiency in that regard. That's cool. It's a step backwards for the LSM user experience to those of us who listen to more than one show.

KDB

You're absolutely right. I've worked in sales my entire life and the lions share of feedback you receive is negative. People take for granted that something works. I'm understand wanting to see only sacred if all you listen to is sacred, but it is jarring to say the least that I can't scroll through my finished episodes and organized my list from oldest to newest to see the Colin's last stand legacy content. As Hoeg likes to say, reasonable minds can differ.

ZiggyFeelGoods

I guess I just can't put myself in the state of mind where making an extra click or two to listen to a podcast would upset me

Teddy Bear Syrup

The one I use for podcasts, Spotify, has worked fine for years. I'm not jumping to a new app just because LSM made a change. Clearly I'm not alone in my frustration.

KDB

My podcast app (overcast) just auto downloads everything I'm subscribed to and puts all downloaded shows into one list; so by adding every RSS feed to my app it's the same end product. And adding the RSS feeds took less time than it took to type out this comment. Overcast also lets me make custom playlists so I could make all LSM go into one feed if I desired. Maybe switch apps if the one you use is so complicated

Teddy Bear Syrup

Colin's update also says nobody ever mentioned their love of the unified feed. Generally, in my experience, if something works, people say nothing. So just because we didn't applaud them for something doesn't mean it wasn't used and enjoyed. Personally I think getting annoyed that it was all in one feed is way more of a cry baby energy. It's so much easier to just scroll past than tap around. This is an awful change.

KDB

I deleted my original comment because it's clear I'm just unfortunately not part of your overwhelming data that wanted separate feeds. To me, having to tap around multiple times is way worse than a single feed. Making me have to re-add all the RSS feeds is another lame step. I'm an outlier who listens to all the shows. I just cannot see the logic in this and think scrolling past what you don't want in a single feed is way easier than jumping around separate feeds. So weird.

KDB

I definitely got used to the unified feed, and I do like the separate ones, now I find it hard to change my routine from going to one feed to going to multiple. I think a world with both is pretty cool if doable.

Justin Latham

Yeah they’re the only ones that complain about anything

Brett Kahn

I miss the unified feed, I haven’t seen an LSM show I didn’t like

Max Myers

Yep. Probably just going to listen to less shows as a result. Not intentionally, but because the Patreon app sucks and is cluttered I’m just going to miss some shows.

Anthony Palerino

Fantastic update. I hope the unified feed comes back ASAP, because this is simply a downgrade if you like most of the shows. I think a lot of people listen to all of the shows sometimes, but not every single episode.

Anthony Palerino

I’m a unified feed consumer… and a technical moron. If an episode doesn’t appeal to me, I just swipe it & move on. Hoping for an eventual global feed, but I’m not mad or anything. Individual feeds work for folks that are into just the one shows so I get why you went that route… just didn’t think it would nuke the global feed.

Kenneth Koepnick

Amazing update, thanks

Oliver Rawle

Please keep the unified feed. I don't need 5 (Edit: 6) seperate icons in my podcast app when I can have 1. I listen to 4 out of 6 shows EVERY week and sometimes it will be more than that depending on the topics/guests. The bottom line is the quality is high enough that it doesn't warrant me needing to split up and segment the organisation. Thank you

Tim

Don’t listen to the people complaining. It’s a better, more organized system. I don’t listen to Punching Up or Defining Duke, now I don’t have to take the extra minutes to delete the episodes I don’t wanna listen to then mark them as read to keep the feed organized. Now I have the shows I want, right there, without anything in my way. It’s more aesthetically pleasing and less work for me to keep up with the feed. I just let each feed keep building whenever anything new is dropped and I’ll listen to each one as I choose. Let’s be honest, if it started out with separate RSS feeds, no one would’ve had a problem with it. But because it started as one conglomerate feed and a change was made, people now have something to complain about. And as an added plus, I get to see the nice art on all of my devices whereas before I could only get if I wasn’t a paid subscriber. Always felt a bit backwards to me. Love the change, it’s really not a big deal but it is a nice convenience and that always goes a long way.

CUM for Scared Symbols.

I preferred the unified feed. It was nice having the full visibility of all the LSM content in one place. Even if I didn’t listen to every episode of every show, it was convenient to have that option to do so if I chose to partake. The unified feed also made it feel more like a family of content, and the variety / grab-bag nature of the feed added a “bang for your buck” vibe. Before I could say, “look at all this content we’re getting for being subscribers”. Now if I opt-in to only 3 shows, it is going to make LSM feel more siloed. Just wanted to share.

James Aquilina

I prefer the unified feed, but it's not the end of the world. Thanks for the clarification

Jeremy Echols

I prefer a unified feed as well. If for whatever reason I don’t want to listen to a show, I can remove it by simply a touch (Spotify) but I guess I’m in the minority by saying i listen to everything LSM produces. Lol

That Strong Nerd

Based. I completely lost a lot of content cause of the unified feed. Also I missed seeing the sacred symbol!

Cass Whelan

It is funny, at least

Michael

Yeah it kept restarting my progress over and over again because of the switch

Michael

I listen to all the sacred symbols but every once in a blue moon I’ll check out a summon sign or a constellation if I like the lineup that day. I just like the one square on my screen. I don’t want to have so many podcast feeds to scroll through.

Michael

Again, just don't download the episodes you don't want. If you're a DD fan then you know the show is getting uploaded Thursday at 12 so you can check the feed Thursday at 12 and just download that episode. It's a complete non-issue.

Zac

Took me a bit to get it all sorted out on Apple Podcasts. Now that I’ve got everything aligned, this is great. Keep it up!

Brent Hooper

I would much prefer a unified feed.

Matthew Cooper

You can just follow all the feeds that you enjoy and then go to your library in Spotify or whatever you want to use and they will all be there. Take the 5min to set it up and then everybody wins. Separate feeds is a W for the vast majority of listeners.

Cody Gibbs

Yeah I just come to patreon to hit play on the youtube stream then hit the youtube link. That way I can listen with my phone screen off on YouTube premium.

AlleyStar Growley

🤣🤣🤣

Bartevious

lol

Teddy Bear Syrup

You can tell this is PlayStation-centeic audience the way everyone is good at complaining

Josh Tarpley

It makes sense for the people that are Sacred Symbols fans, or definining duke fans, or what have you, RATHER THAN last stand fans. Some people exclusively consume episodes only from one show. I’m not one of those people, but I get it.

Bartevious

I really don't understand the need for multiple feeds. If you don't wanna listen to an episode then don't download it. No one is holding a gun to your head and making you download every episode that comes across your feed

Zac

Does everyone hate listening on the Patreon app? It declutters my Spotify and YouTube and it has a built in “unified” feed. Looks like this change isn’t really effecting me.

Bartevious

Let's be clear: a mass of people will never react positively to any change, pretty much universally ever. That said, this change is objectively more confusing for those of us who just want a single list of content. Anyone saying that those of us providing critical feedback are just a bunch of whining babies are either trolls or have double digit status. LSM has never struck me as a group of creators who can't handle well reasoned critical feedback.

ZiggyFeelGoods

🤣 this last reply is funny. I don’t listen to backlogged content myself, but I think it’s fair Patreon makes it possible to give those people the unified feed option. Unfortunately Patreon just doesn’t have this system in place boys.

Bartevious

Personally, I don’t agree with that. They implemented this change with no warning which caused people to be caught off guard and not know which episodes they were either in the process of watching or episodes they intended to watch. Quite a few people lost their backlog library before being able to markdown the episodes they still intended to watch. I prefer the unified thread but I think it is a good thing to have multiple RSS feeds just not in place of one unified thread. There needs to be both.

Nickster

Love the whole saga of Colin wishing for this for years and when it finally happens it goes over this way.

Noah Friscopp

Dude I have no idea which episodes I have and haven’t listened to now. I liked knowing so I could pick new Stellys or Summon Signs from the back log to play whenever I was caught up with current stuff. Now all that info is just gone. If we had like a week heads up I could have went in and wrote down everything I’ve played already or something at least

Mr. Pang

Bunch of babies on this thread.

Dubya_Tea_Efff

You could say the same to the people who were originally complaining about the unified feed.

Joseph Gedgaudas

I use Overcast and just download the episodes I want to listen to from the shows. Whoever these multiple feed complainers are just went and screwed everything up for everyone else. I know you guys are trying to please everyone so no ill will, I’m just going to have to take time and try and fix it when I get some free time.

Just Josh

Spotify unified feed is gone, every podcast has its own channel, newest episodes (newest punching up for example) is not currently uploaded to the punching up channel. Dates are messed up on specific episodes (punching up from last week reads posted on friday). I'm sure a lot of this will be ironed out but currently very confusing.

ZiggyFeelGoods

I had episodes that were half listened to that are no longer in the list. This is incredibly frustrating not knowing what episodes I’ve listened to and where I may be in the middle of one. The hardcore fan base got shafted.

Sean Ellsworth

Dang. I don’t know what episodes I have or haven’t listened to now that the unified feed is gone. 😢

Sean Ellsworth

Yeah, I agree with this take. I'm sure Colin will add an all shows feed though soon enough.

DB

Teddy Bear Syrup

This was my initial thought, I love the option for those who want it but as someone who listens to all the shows this was basically like throwing a grenade in the room. A classic Helldivers 2 situation, the experience has been improved for the most casual at the cost of the experience for the most hardcore. Glad to see the update and knowing the feedback is heard and passed along to the powers that be.

out_of_focus_bigfoot

I only use Spotify, YouTube and whenever you post clips to twitter. None of these are RSS feeds right?

Parangariku tirimiquaro

You only need the individual RSS feeds if you are listening via another podcast app. I got my mine on the iOS Patreon app go to your LSM home page click the ••• in the top right corner. Then select Add to podcast app then select the app you're using or select RSS link. From there you can add each show to the podcast app of your choosing or copy the individual RSS links.

Wayne Moss

It’s a different feed for SS+ episodes there’s like 8 different feeds now. SS (original RSS Feed) SS+ DD Punching Up Summon Signs Constellation Knockback Q&A Fireside chats etc

Wayne Moss

I still love the idea of separate feeds. I was just caught off guard by spotify cutting me mid episode.

Fred Denny

I am a fan of having multiple feeds but I cannot figure out how to add the other feeds. What happens after I get to the link to the other shows if I am watching here on the Patreon app?

Christian Montes

Yer the original RSS feed has turned into the SS feed you need to add the other shows individually. There’s 8 in total if you’re also using the Patreon iOS app you can send them over without having to copy the feed links. On the Patreon app go to your LSM home page click the ••• in the top right corner. Then select Add to podcast app then select the app you're using or select RSS link. From there you can add each show to the podcast app of your choosing or copy the individual RSS links.

Wayne Moss

For anyone still struggling to add the new feeds to your app, try using the website instead of the Patreon app. The Patreon FAQ that is linked in the post isn’t very helpful.

Matthew Hudson

Another funny side effect from this: the people who listen to every piece of content are the ones who find this change to be the most inconvenient I'm sure. These people (myself included) could be considered the 'super fans' of LSM. Of course, this demographic of patreon supporters are no more important than a fan who chooses only to listen to sacred symbols for example, but it is a little ironic that the people who engage the most are the ones most negatively affected by this change.

ZiggyFeelGoods

Yeah, I got this info late last night, and it worked. The Android app doesn't work the way the listed directions speak to. Thanks for the reply.

chris lawrence

I done mine on the iOS Patreon app go to your LSM home page click the ••• in the top right corner. Then select Add to podcast app then select the app you're using or select RSS link. From there you can add each show to the podcast app of your choosing or copy the individual RSS links. Which have to be added in separately into your selected podcast app i just use the standard iOS Apple podcast app.

Wayne Moss

Thank you. I wasted a lot of time messing with the iOS app and the website finally worked for me.

Matthew Hudson

Try it on the website not the app. Worked for me.

Matthew Hudson

I can’t figure out how to add all the other shows back 😑

JohnOfTheDead

I just watch the YouTube videos versions out of this app on iPhone.

rubber nipples 209

Yep. I appreciate the shows being neatly seperated but as someone using Podcast Addict, I just saved what I wanted to a playlist and they were neatly organized. Here's hoping the solution from Patreon doesn't take another 7 years.

Michael Welter

ATTN anyone using a podcast app: I initially thought my backlog was gone, but luckily I'm still able to access the episodes I had downloaded by switching from 'All Published' to 'My episodes' on the old Last Stand Media feed/current Sacred Symbols feed. Still sucks going forward, but if you had a lengthy backlog of downloaded episodes like me it may still be accessible. Hopefully the boys get it sorted out soon. I understand why some people want separate feeds, I used to be in that camp. But as someone who listens to most of the shows its nice to be able to be able to easily view them in release order on one feed.

Devin

This new piecemeal approach sucks. I’ve lost episodes that were downloaded, and lost my spot in multiple episodes I hadn’t finished yet. Talking about being “opt-in” why weren’t we given the choice to “opt in” to the new setup? I know I would not have switched.

Kevin Thornton

Adding the multiple RSS feeds took 1 minute , can’t imagine how this isn’t the best solution. Also now each show has their dedicated show icon. Easy to find in my feed.

Kevin Bogues

I think this is for the best but the migration could’ve been smoother

Michael

You have to put the other separetly ;)

Eugen R.

Yeah I had a backlog of episodes(SS+, spoilercasts, and a few XDuke) that are now not there. Now I guess I’ll have to go through this new feed and try to remember which ones I had on. 😕

Alan JY

Don’t like this at all. I liked having everything in one feed. I like listening to things in order. Now I gotta click on multiple feeds to see what podcast released on what day and try and line it all up.

Joshua Smith

Hey guys, long time fan here. I have to be honest that this was not a nice surprise to wake up to this morning. For some context, I have been listening to every episode of every show since September 2023. I have also been going back through the history of the unified feed on Spotify to listen to all the old Colin's last stand political episodes, fireside chats, knock back, and side quests. From what I can see all that content is currently just, well, gone! Also, I enjoyed watching the legacy content in order of release which I believe will be difficult or impossible to do moving forward. I'm not sure how to engage with old content the way that I once did, and this really dampers my enthusiasm for continuing with future content. I know that's a little weird, but it's just how my brain ticks. Anyway I'm far from the only person complaining. I hope there is a solution proposed in the future.

ZiggyFeelGoods

I didn’t mind the unified link to be honest, because I listen to almost everything I can, but maybe this will be better, maybe not.

Florida Man

I think due to all the different podcast services; would have been a task. I didn’t realise at first I’d have to fish through Spotify for them. But alas! It’s done now. Glad to help!

Bradlaw

I think it would have been easier with links to the seperate podcasts is all. It was a slight chore re-following seperate podcasts. However, now that I’ve figured it all out, I’m good to go! (I use Spotify and a previous comment of mine in this thread has links to the separate podcasts).

Bradlaw

Thank you for this. Why didn't they post the links in the post?

Joseph Griffin

Just joining the choir here to say this isn't the best approach, as we were already dealing with the current feed structure on our own - just keep the regular one as is and people who want separate feeds can pick and choose from the new separate feeds. EDIT: After the update, just want to share a few more thoughts. The issue isn't this approach being worse, it is better to pick and choose on most cases and people would overwhelmingly pick this option day 1. The issue is that we were already in this situation, so our feeds reflect it. Why are people mad? They likely had unplayed episodes they expected to listen to later that now just vanished. Even if they were partially played, which is even more infuriating. Subscribing a new feed will just have all the unplayed episodes of that feed, and it's also requiring the customers to do more new configurations to get back to where they were before. TL;DR: Change was too sudden and there should be an option to keep things as is

Tiago Cruzeiro

Really would have preferred you kept one RSS feed as was, with all shows as the default. Now I’m burdened by having to do the bare minimum work to re-enable my feeds, ugh.

Ryan Taylor

Really do not like this. Now I can't listen to my shows that I had set up in Spotify.

Christopher Rundt

Damn this screwed up my apple podcast app so bad. It will only show SS. No SS+ or any other show. This sucks.

Mr Finkler

The best solution is having one unified feed but customizable. There should be checkboxes that control which podcasts appear in the feed. Not sure what are the technical constraints from Patreon side, but this should be the requirement.

Nir Zigler

Not a fan of this. I was a rare one I guess that listened to every show. Now my shows aren't showing up in spotify. Not sure where to find the new RSS links. I don't have the early access shows on Spotify any more. I was in the middle of listening to punching up and it just vanished. If I can't figure this out then the early access patreon is worthless to me now.

Joseph Griffin

Can you not mark them as played, and then set played episodes to hide on the app you’re using?

Robert

I had all the episodes in the unified RSS feed marked as played. it was so clean 😭

Robert

Hate this change. Don’t understand why the people who felt their feed was a bit cluttered couldn’t just mark whatever they wanted to not view as played and to hide played episodes.

Robert

That’s what I feel. I pick and choose what episodes I listen to based on the content. Now I'll have to download a bunch of feeds that I won't always listen to. How is that better?

Joseph Gedgaudas

All is good now.

Fer

Same here

Simon

Didn't want this change.... Realistically all this is going to do is stop me from listening to podcasts I probably wouldn't have listened to or given a chance on a separate feed 😐

Dan and Demi Short

All episodes of + are not showing up in the sacred symbols feed. My unified feed up dated to ss but the + episodes are gone. Would it be possible to also provide a unified feed for those who want it

Scott Hunt

Love this. Thank you!

Andreas Lennartsson

Things were good please keep unified feed on Spotify

Daniel Jablonski

Also I was at work when this happened. So it kinda "put me in a situation" either I stop working and figure out what's going on or listen to something else.

Joseph Gedgaudas

Love u guys, but not a fan of the split Edit: Just sorted out spotify, it's worse than I thought this way. Super painful.

Gareth Rigden

Ahh okay. Might just peace out then. This seriously sucks.

Paul Knickerbocker

Don't like this change at all. I want all the podcast in one feed, this only makes everything feel so messy

Simon

Well, this actually made things worse. I was so confused when I couldn't find the latest Summon Sign episode.

Joseph Gedgaudas

Love this change! Thank you so much for making this happen.

Gregory Wieczorek

Team separate feed here

Austin

Ah lads please don’t do this. I had 30-40 episodes (from months and months ago) saved on Spotify to listen to, and they are all gone now. Edit: Gonna hold my hands up here, was a completely reactionary and dramatic post. Took a minute to look up the various feeds on spotify and another 5 to go back and find all the various episodes I wanted to save for the future. Really wasn’t that bad and it’s nice not getting updates for Defining Duke (no offence lads, ye are great hosts, just no interest in xbox news unless it’s massive).

Cormac

Not a fan of the change please bring back a one feed if you can!

Aron Elliott

YOUTUBE MUSIC users - go to Home, Podcasts (top left), then, over on the right top, click "MORE". Now you should see "ADD PODCAST" with a large "+". click that. Then you should see an option "ADD RSS FEED." took me a while to find this. maybe someone else is also dumb like me.

Guybrush Threepwood

I love updates that make things worse. Unified feed>split

Arian Yee

The next hurdle is each new episode having their unique thumbnails

thatoneguy02

I can’t figure out how to get another feed on mobile lol

Josh Townsend

This really messed up the way I listen to things on Spotify, please offer the unified feed as well please, if possible

Kyle Clayton

I"ll pay money for a unified feed.

Guybrush Threepwood

Yeah this really hurts </3

Brett Medlock

losing access to stuff and then having to spend an hour to figure out how to get it back is not an upgrade if you were happy with the unified feed already.

Guybrush Threepwood

I think I’m in the minority, but as someone who only listens to a couple of the shows, I love having the separate feeds for everything

John Paul Kilcrease

Same. Any way to have that option remain? Please. Gracias 🙏

Christopher Cavazos

I don’t like this change one bit! Just giving feedback ❤️

Brett Medlock

After reading alot of comments. I think it works really well on Apple devices and not on everything else. Which tracks with me. Cause now I've lost add free everything besides base sacred symbols unless I wanna listen on this garbage app. Ugh

Tom Sullivan

Love the content it really is wonderful. You guys do fantastic work! I have to say though, I don’t like this change. I’ve loved having all the podcasts in one RSS feed on Spotify- it’s been simpler and cleaner. I never comment or complain, but yeah, not particularly thrilled!

Andy T

I followed the directions to get the rss feed link but that only works for the main logo. When I tap each show thumbnail opening it... and then tap the '3 dots' for that logo, I only get a share option but not an rss feed link.

chris lawrence

Man oh man…. Why both couldn’t be done is a problem I guess I love the one feed for all shows First world problems here 🤣🥲🙃😭

Chris Sutherland

Added all the feeds to Apple Podcasts marked all episodes in the backlog as played ready for this weeks Sacred Symbols

Anton Le Platte

Love everything you guys do, but I definitely thought the talks of this would be optional (for the few that wanted it). I don't even remember how to add rss feeds, haha. Definitely didn't want separate for each show.

chris lawrence

I am so fascinated by the comments. Seems like a no win situation for LSM. Some people love it and some hate it. Im good either way. Thanks for the great content.

Trevor B.

Honestly this is cool but also annoying that there’s no unified feed. Please still have 1 unified feed with everything and then split the feeds for the people who want that. The unified is actually very convenient when you watch most of or all of the shows

Gsquad193

Well hell, I personally like the unified feed. This is a major inconvenience

Michael Candelaria

Ugh, Patreon really screwed the pooch with not allowing a unified feed, one of the benefits of signing up to the Patreon was that I didn't have to have a bunch of different feeds. Also in regards to "Not being able to have seperate feeds and a unified feed", couldn't you just upload the same episode file twice, once to the "unified feed" and once to the relevant individual feed? Yes it's a tiny bit more work, but it would make everyone happy.

Cat Charlie

Real MVP.

Skyler Olivarez

Worked for me (I think). Thank you for that!

SmashingSuccess

I’m on Spotify, probably the difference.

Brent Mahaffey

Good change, but why no warning?

Robo

so episodes i hadnt gotten to yet are just gone, unified was fine, shouldve just added the options for the other single feeds not change the one that was working, too much emphasis on the vocal minority

Joshua LaForme

Ngl this is annoying lol

claytortot213

Thank god. This is awesome.

Trevor Deal

Hopefully it works.

Bradlaw

They’re so hard to find on Spotify.. Here’s some links: https://open.spotify.com/show/1cuaonbSUpNGEROwJf3FRj?si=faNQocqARliKV26JWwASqw https://open.spotify.com/show/0iAbydGuNIvSg5jIud4T7r?si=kfCnAegCSnKZ-MtLoCaJLg https://open.spotify.com/show/6iOdDzqqK8GyspwwO0jLRs?si=uxwMzUqNQ3i_jD75JI542Q https://open.spotify.com/show/20wKsi9KycGAIkcYlPPx80?si=1gG62tHeQJujdw9Hca42Vw https://open.spotify.com/show/6PaBRMWDCdFJFhTjbdDAnR?si=ry3LcuEhSb6zh2SJYx52Fg

Bradlaw

I only want the unified feed cause I'm not a baby and can look at something and just go past it. Now I have to be a baby about having 6 podcast feeds. Also anyone here know where I can get the Spotify links for the other shows? It's only linking SS when I go through patreon.

Tom Sullivan

Why get rid of a unified feed? You guys just made it way worse. Can we please go back to the way it was?

Paul Knickerbocker

In the future, you guys should probably warn us about a change like this prior to it being implemented. From the sounds of it, quite a few people lost the timestamps stating where they were in various episodes they had started and/or lost everything that they had downloaded.

Nickster

Sacred and sacred plus on different feeds? Unified feed should remain. This is obnoxious for a Spotify user personally.

GetNoct

Purple Monkey Dishwasher

The Devmeister

Would like the option for unified.

Anton Kaye

KEEP THE UNIFIED FEED. I don't want to have to add new ones when the existing one already gave me everything I wanted..

Edwin Juarez

Agreed, I didn't ask for this. Not sure why we couldn't keep a unified feed and just add the multiple if that's what you wanted.

GetNoct

Thank you very much for this!

Mark Scanlan

I LOVE YOU DUSTIN. BEAR MY CHILDREN 🥰

Ariel

This thread is so awesome because now you guys know what it's like to work in IT. "Hey we got you this new awesome upgrade!" "WTF this sucks, can I go back to the old one?

Jordan Falduto

wrong thread

Jordan Falduto

Thanks you so much. They made that insanely complicated

Alex Watson

I bet this post goes extra hard if you’re a massive dweeb.

Child Aloy

Thanks! I got it figured out I must of been blind or it wasn't there earlier when I tried it.

Blaine Reinking

Unified feed should remain an option. This is a huge step backwards

Brad Van Sickle

Yup

Ryan Champion

This is in iOS app?

Zack E

Flee

Unified feed was fine. Everything showing as unplayed in the individual feeds is also a pain in the ass for someone that listens to a ton of podcasts each week based on the unplayed list

J92

I'm a fiver too those didn't show up in podcast addict

LevelWiley

I liked the unified feed

Orrie Cat Gaming

I know right! Screw it I’m spamming comment sections from now on everything I’m enjoying lmao

Zack E

I completely understand what you mean - I know some are thinking it’s not a big deal and sure it’s not end of world but this is a killer for ocd-ish people. Hard to explain I guess to those who don’t care

Zack E

As a $5 subscriber, I really hated having the unplayable Q&As from the $10 tier sitting in my queue, unable to be cleared. This solved that problem for me, but I hope they bring back a unified feed for you guys.

Brent Mahaffey

Go to settings and click memberships. Click on LSM. Click on 3 dots in the corner and add to your podcast. I originally thought add RSS feeds. But instead Hit Spotify. And right from there you can add them all easily

Ryan Champion

Just throwing my opinion : it’s nice that there are independent feeds for those who’d prefer it but I think you guys may have underestimated those that actually enjoy the all in one feed. It’s so very particular but this type of thing messes with me at a weird level lol, it’s been years where I could see everything pop up in the single feed and that was part of daily habits.

Zack E

How did you figure it out? I'm having the same issue and struggling to find the others I want to subscribe to

Blaine Reinking

If we could get a unified feed too ✌🏻 prefer that to having multiple personally

Ben Miller

It does I had a bunch downloaded as well. Left work today and went to play one on the way home and they were all gone

Blaine Reinking

I like the individualized listening data so I plan on switching to individual RSS feeds, but it sucks the guys couldn't keep the unified one too

Ben Bell

A couple of years ago, when you scrubbed the Fireside Chat free public RSS feed, it managed to trigger my podcast ap (Overcast) to delete all the episodes I had downloaded to phone. Ouch. Hoping this change to RSS feed won't do likewise.... I have quite a backlog of episodes downloaded that I don't want deleted!

Pater_M

Really? Looks like others have figured out the way to do it on the app if you scroll up and check the other comments.

Johnny Questicles

Ahh awesome, that’s a much easier way too 👏

Alex Roberts

Search for LSM in the Patreon app, open it & click on the 3 dots top right & select Add to Podcast app & pick the feeds you want.

Kieron Cleaver

Not working for me

A_link2the_past

Unified feed back please.

Tyler Stafford

Holy shit, biggest W ever behind Bloodborne 60fps one day

Brent Mahaffey

Change it back please only the LSM casuals wanted this

LevelWiley

That's awesome to have more options for people. Is there anyway a unified feed can be added like before my ocd loved having all the shows in one feed.

Braulio Valdez

THANK YOU! Like many others, I have been waiting a very long time for this to happen so I don't have to deal with shows I don't have time to listen to. Well done all around and thanks for staying on top of this.

Brandon Hofer (Ho-fer)

The complaining is unbelievable

Teddy Bear Syrup

The unified feed was nice. Wish it was opt-in.

Hugh Jalode

Wish that the master feed was left as is or that option was still kept around as I mainly use Spotify and liked it all being in one feed. I may not listen to it all on release but it's nice to see it all so I can jump around to what sounds good at the time.

Streyltas

Figured it out

Ryan Champion

Click on the follow show to put in the URL that was hard as hell to figure out this is my only Patreon and I haven’t logged in for like 10 years since I first ordered it

Joseph wozniak

Is anyone having a hard time finding the RSS feeds on Spotify? I can only find Sacred Symbols

Ryan Champion

Thanks gents. Also has there been any discussion to get video on Spotify? Other gaming podcasts like Kinda Funny and Easy Allies have video for their podcasts on Spotify so I was wondering if you all were thinking of doing the same?

Loom Doom

I understand if all the feedback asking for the unified feed is frustrating for LSM since a lot were asking for it. I should’ve wrote in the past to say I love it!

Anthony Palerino

Download the patreon app, login, then go to their page and there should be 3 "..." on the top right. Click that and then add to podcast app. :) Hope that helps!

Aric Anderson

100% agree with Logan. Not a fan of not having a unified feed as an option.

Nickster

PSA for iOS users: there is no membership tab on the Patreon app, so you need to go to the Patreon website on a browser to find it and get the new RSS feeds from there.

Alex Roberts

The membership is very clear and visible on the Patreon website if you’re using desktop.

The Great Santini

Can we still have a master unified RSS feed? I get some folks were asking for this but this kinda sucks for those of us that like to listen to all of the shows. I’m always a little behind, but I like to work through them in order. Plus when there are schedule changes I won’t have to poke through each and every feed.

Anthony Palerino

I don’t have an option on the iOS app to add the other shows to Apple Podcasts. Only the Sacred Symbols link appears when adding the RSS feed. Am I missing something?

Jason Arpin

Why not keep the unified feed the same and then add additional RSS feeds for each particular show? That way your listeners can choose whether to download/listen to everything or only the specific show or shows they want.

Nickster

About time Patreon launched it!

Robert F Friemering

I would’ve preferred the unified feed to remain as it was. I liked having everything in release order, as that’s how I go through it. I’m one of those that likes to listen in order and was two months behind. ( I know I’m weird for that.) This sucks.

SALOHCIN1

Yo my Spotify feed disappeared wtf

Jorge Aponte

No problem dude hope it helps people out.

Wayne Moss

Honestly, I know it’s not the biggest deal ever, but as people that can understand having minor annoyances with things, having my podcast progress and finished episodes totally erased from Spotify for every show besides Sacred was definitely annoying

Mr. Pang

Ok I got it. Click on your profile image, then go to settings, then memberships. Click on Last Stand then click the 3 dots in the top right, the clock Add to Podcast app. Click your app of choice (ie Spotify) then you can add the individual ones from there. Phew!

Ross Stoddart

For anyone having issues finding the “membership” tab and/or the RSS feeds themselves: You can’t do it on the app, you have to go to the Patreon website. From there, go to the LSM main feed, right below the logo you’ll see a horizontal bar with links, click on “membership,” scroll down to the section that says “Listen in other podcast apps,” the RSS feeds are in there.

Johnny Questicles

What the fuck is the membership icon? 🤣

Ross Stoddart

You can only do it through the Patreon website, not the app (which is annoying). But go the the LSM home page, right below the logo you’ll see a horizontal bar with links, click on “membership,” scroll down to the section that says “Listen in other podcast apps,” and the RSS feeds are in there.

Johnny Questicles

Thank you! Another dude commented this lower down as well. They should pin one of these because a lot of people seem confused…

Pizza2047

Thanks dude! They should pin this to the top. Took me an embarrassing amount of time to figure this out. Lol.

Pizza2047

Ok I found it on the app. Go to last stands home page, scroll down a couple inches and three black dots will appear in the top right corner (…), click that and you should find an “add to podcast app” option

Jeremy

I'm going to give up for now. Individual RSS feeds are no where to be found on either the Patreon app or the website.

Jeff George

Same. Can’t find a “Membership” tab nor any of these links 🤔

Pizza2047

It’s working now, but I noticed that the Summon Sign feed doesn’t show the subscriber label above the title while all the other feeds do. 🤔

Fer

A cool option! Thanks for the invest and negotiations with patreon. One negative and mid annoying aspect it that, in the new feeds all episodes are like not heard. And the already heard episodes are out of the original feed.

Eugen R.

I’ve been looking for a so called “membership tab” with all the links for like 10 minutes, even if I find the links idk what to do with them lol I’m hopeless

Jeremy

Thank you!!

Cayla Hodge

Finally!!! Awesome news 🥳

Aaron Barnes

Hi! I appreciate the option to customize, but can another feed be added that combines them like before? I'd prefer one unified feed instead of subscribing to all individually. If not, that's not a big deal. Thanks for everything y'all do :)

Brandon Stark

Im glad im not the only one that like the unified list

NotYurRealDad

I would also like to retain a unified feed as an option. Disappointing that Patreon don't offer this.

Rehman Mohamed

Hallelujah! How can this be?!

Nick

Hey guys, I never comment on anything but for me someone who doesn't understand anything just makes things more complicated. Could we have an extra RSS with unified shows? I know people like things separate, but for some of us, everything together works fine.

Miguel Menjivar

This is awesome thanks!! Would love the ability to also have the unified feed, but understand if it is an all or nothing option from Patreon - just went in and added all the feeds

Tim Chaten

I cannot find the individual RSS feeds. I can only find the OG feed. I do not have the option when drilling down into the other shows.

Jeff George

I have no fucking clue what an RSS feed and never will as I watch the podcasts. That said, congrats losers.

The Great Santini

One additional vote for having a unified RSS feed. I'll subscribe to it separately if i have to, but I'd like all the shows in one place to see things chronologically. It's how it's been for years, and I'd like to keep it that way

Dylan Paulson

I’ll add to the voices that I would like the option for a feed with all podcasts as well.

Ty Dame

Straight up do not know how to do this

Sam Lukas

Dude all I'm saying is all the shoes I was listening to today are not removed out of my Spotify and since Spotify does not allow direct RSS feeds and just connecting accounts it seems to not be working.

Thorman

May I offer a middle ground compromise? Could we have all the individual feeds for those who want to pick and choose, and then one singular LSM feed that was the old way with just one feed for all LSM content?

Jeffrey “Brawl96” Mizrahi

It's a non issue for me if it is the case, but if we want to continue getting all the shows we just need to sub to all the individual RSS feeds on our podcast app of choice?

Casey Weinmann

Same. When I had them all in one feed, I might sometimes listen to a DD or PU if the title interested me. But now, I'm likely just not going to subscribe to those feeds and will be listening to LSM less. I genuinely don't understand why there was such a vocal push for this.

Jeffrey “Brawl96” Mizrahi

Kinda liked having them all in one place for Last Stand content instead of going to 5 different “shows” now. But I’ll live and keep listening to you sexy studs

Chris Beeson

Completely agree lol. I actually hate this new change since it's now taking up tons of space in my overcast. I loved the unified feed because it would let me pick and choose which episodes of shows I want to listen to. I think this will harm engagement.

Jeffrey “Brawl96” Mizrahi

I don't remember where I left off with some shows before they were all unexpectedly removed is a little frustrating, but I think overall this will end up being fine. For things I didn't want to listen to, I have been marking the episodes as played to remove them from the feed list, so I will need to go through every individual show again and do that, which is going to be tedious. I also agree with some others that having multiple new podcast feeds will clutter my library, but I guess I can live with it. Overall, this change is fine, I don't love it or hate it, but hopefully the people that wanted it will be happy.

Todd Picht

If you’re a Spotify user, go here: https://www.patreon.com/settings/apps/spotify Click on listen on Spotify for last stand media, and it will show you a widget of each feed with Spotify links for each shows subscriber feed. Slightly different than the native rss apps

Brendan Doyle

Did none of you read the post? He talks about that.

Rick Rodriguez

Listeners stuck in 2005, rejoice

Jordan Falduto

This may be stupid but I liked the one giant list of everything in it lmao

OCEL0T

I believe Spotify is lagging behind a bit in populating the old episodes. -Dustin

Dustin Furman

Don't know if it happened to anyone else as well but for me all the episodes reset on Spotify. I was listening to DD and it didn't keep the timestamp where I was at.

Jakub Pirochta

I done mine on the iOS Patreon app go to your LSM home page click the ••• in the top right corner. Then select Add to podcast app then select the app you’re using or select RSS link. From there you can add each show to the podcast app of your choosing or copy the individual RSS links.

Wayne Moss

At long last!

Niz

There's a gap in available episodes on SS+ on Spotify, starting early last year. For example, I'm missing the Stellar Blade and Pentiment episodes. Maybe it hasn't updated yet, or could be a different issue.

Nick Bottger

Welp now my Spotify feed is jacked. All I see is sacred 🙁

Javier Medina

So this does not work on Spotify? Cause now all shoes are gone except sacred

Thorman

It’s basically the way the podcast gets sent to your podcast player of choice. Think of it as say a radio station the RSS feed is the station you’re listening to. So Before there was one station playing all LSM shows but now there’s a station for each show for you to tune into.

Wayne Moss

Awesome thank you!

Coleman

I hate to be negative but I think I preferred having all of the shows in one feed 😑

george b

Same here. I also have the same thing popping up

Jakub Pirochta

I’ve tried it several times and it doesn’t work

Anthony Cucchetti

Having all the fireside chats easily accessible now is honestly a big value add! I even see the mystifying “Sacred Symbols, Special episodes” there as well. Very cool!

Vincent Castroll

I only have 1 link and it’s for sacred…

Alex Murphy

Just lost my "saved" backlog of shows that I wanted to go back and listen to someday. That's an unfortunate downside to this update, but can see that it seemed that it was necessary to get to this point.

Jared Jobes

If they don’t somehow bring back a unified feed. I’ll look into it. I’m months behind and a unified feed allowed for a simple way to keep track of when stuff dropped.

Miguel

What’s happened to Spotify? Is it because of this RSS stuff from here because it’s completely f**ked up now.

Jacko

Obviously you’re entitled to your opinion, but using the Patreon app on my phone, I added them to Overcast whilst I was taking a shit. It was awesome. Not the shit, that was tragic. But how easy it was adding the feeds from Patreon.

Russell Garrett

Updated on my end cheers guys

It's pretty much just a way to plug a podcast feed straight into whatever podcatcher you want. It's the link straight to the podcast. Plugging a Patreon RSS Feed link into a podcatcher removes the need to interact with the Patreon app to download/listen to a podcast.

David Portnov

So just Google it. No need to make a comment.

Ealia Staroverov

Working fine now on my app (pocket casts, iOS). Was a breeze to add each rss feed

Kevin Whiteacre

Almost all decent podcast apps (so, not Spotify) will let you create a chronological playlist for select Podcasts. If you’re an iOS user, I’d highly recommend Overcast.

Russell Garrett

for me it's still broken, even after completing closing both my patreon and spotify apps EDIT: It's working now!

Llogan from mmry.crd

Your not alone my friend....

Adam Root

The feed is now displayed on Patreon, but it’s failing to open on Spotify. Will try again in a bit, just in case it needs some time to catch up. Will report back if the issue persists.

Fer

I still don't know what an RSS feed is. I see people mention it a lot but I don't know what it actually means.

DJChazzyCheff

Fantastic stuff imo. I used to find it frustrating that shows would fill up my phone that I either didn't want or would never get to. Will absolutely be making use of these, thanks

Jamie Collyer

Unified feed would be awesome.

Anthony Cucchetti

That was fast! Thanks, Dustin! 🙌

Fer

Can somebody explain how to access individual RSS links? I can’t seem to find anything on it.

Ricky Dillard

I lost all of my progress on the existing shows I hadn’t finished. Big L on that but I’m very happy for the folks who wanted this! Now I just need to find the damned RSS links. I’ve been searching for 20 min now on my app to no avail.

Anthony Cucchetti

The summon sign link isn't working for Spotify.

Josef Barker

Absolutely love this!

AL022

That’s what I want.

Dan Root

This should be fixed now :) -Dustin

Dustin Furman

Agreed 👍

Simon Campbell

I don’t know how to find the RSS links. I liked the master list that it was. Since I listen to multiple shows. They were all taken off my Apple Podcasts app. :/

Dan Root

Honestly it wasn't that bad <3 -Dustin

Dustin Furman

FUCK YES!!!!

CUM for Scared Symbols.

Same here. Single feed in chronological order is much more convenient for me.

Simon Campbell

This should be fixed now :) -Dustin

Dustin Furman

So happy this is finally happening!

Matthew Novak

It’s a URL that allows you to access patreon episodes on any podcast app.

YaBoyStevieJay

This should be fixed now :) -Dustin

Dustin Furman

I'm surprised patron got their heads out their arse and finally did it. Hopefully it's smooth sailing

Joseph

KnockBack has a feed still!

Dustin Furman

What about older episodes such as Knockback that was on the old unified feed? I have a couple in my backlog and I’m wondering if I have to get new RSS feeds for those older episodes.

YaBoyStevieJay

Then get out of it. It’s a garbage idea and not a win.

Miguel

Not a fan of the change, clogs up my home page as its all seperate entries for all the shows now. Could we not have the option for a single feed with everything for those who want that?

Brian Provan

Im going to be that guy as well. Big L on not having one feed as an option. I'm being tasked with adding multiple RSS now. This will go one of two ways, ill tell myself I'm going to add the feeds and will consume multiple shows as I use to. Or the most likely outcome, ill tell myself I'm adding the new feeds, never get around to it, and consume much less LSM.

Matthew Bahm

Great news! Find it much easier to keep track of things with separate feeds. Just flagging that Summon Sign seems to be missing from Spotify and Constellation from Apple Podcasts for me.

Chris

Summon Sign listed as "not available on Spotify" within the Patreon app Not an option to select within a web browser

Josh Tarpley

This is great for those who want it but can we keep an rss feed with all of them as well?

Game Judge

yes same here

Biomachina

But where are the games!!! I'm kidding!

Boots!

What is an RSS

Matt The Outlaw 🤠

Sorry if I missed this, when is this change taking place from?

Euan Scott

When I tried to add to Spotify I was able to add all the shows I wanted except Summon Sign. Could just be an issue on my end but wanted to give a heads up.

John Polk

Thinking of you Dustin , I’d imagine there’s a lot of work in this on your side

Kevin Whiteacre

This is great! Thanks! I experienced the first hiccup. It looks like all podcasts are available for Apple Podcasts and can be followed without issues, but for Spotify, the Summon Sign feed is missing. Hopefully that’s an easy fix. 🤞 As soon as I’m allowed, I’ll give each podcast their 5 stars. 🙌

Fer

We asked about this, but unfortunately it's not possible. The reason: Each podcast object can only be associated with a single tag. So if we want to embrace multiple RSS feeds (and we do), we had to make this choice. Sorry! -Colin

Colin Moriarty

I hate this. The unified feed kept the podcasts in chronological order order. Also how is this any different than just subbing to multiple different podcasts in a podcast app? Please allow for a unified feed if Patreon allows it!

Miguel

Yes. -Colin

Colin Moriarty

Is there still a feed for all the podcasts in one or are they all separate now?

DNye

Just subscribe to all of them?

Ealia Staroverov

A unified RSS is not possible in the current alpha, but I will relay your feedback to Patreon! -Dustin

Dustin Furman

FUCK MY MOUTH!!!

Russell Garrett

Would prefer if the existing feed stayed as is with everything and all new feeds were for individual shows. Great news though and love the content.

Simon Dixon

FINALLY!!!

Alex Bolton

I've been listening to this podcast since it's inception and have no idea what an RSS feed is, but I'm happy people are pumped about it.

Bobby T

Not to be that guy (I’m going to be that guy) but I much preferred my singular unified feed of everything, hope we can get that option back sometime

Logan McDaniel

I have no idea what that means but it seems like people are happy about it! Keep it up whatever it is.

Devin (the dude abides) Torres

So there's no way to keep an RSS feed with everything on it?

Trevor Lewis

At least now when Pocketcasts and Spotify do their end of year wrap ups it’ll more accurately tally what shows I’ve been listening to instead of bundling all of Last Stand’s shows into one feed

Aaron Cheater

Finally, so unexpected!

Aladin_Slow

This so awesome, Thanks!

Matheus Lutz Ramos

LSM takings Ws today, first the Yoshida interview and now this!

Everything Meraz

oh geez...poor Dustin. This sounds like an absolute nightmare of wires to untangle

Jay McGraw

will we have access to old episodes on the new rss feed?

TVN Nee

This is an amazing day! Thanks for pushing this with Patreon 👍
