Speak for yourself man, stuff like that is why red dead 2 sold over 60 million. And Kingdom come 1 sold over 8 million. Also the sword combat in KCD amazing, and almost universally loved

Who wants to learn to read in video games? No actual sane person wants to play this. If they just added a normal fighting experience it would be brilliant.

For one, TLOU1 factions has a cult following of players to this day to my understanding. Without significant long term support slowing development cycles for other games. Secondly, you could have another studio continue development in their stead. But the real, main reason why that is dumb, is how does this lead to the cancellation of a live service title? Did you not know you had to service it live?

2025-01-28 15:27:10 +0000 UTCGreat show as usual guys but I have to issue a stand down to Matty and to pretty much all of LSM on the topic of the cancelled Last of Us live service game. I have heard numerous hosts on the network attribute the cancellation to Sony management or even Bungie’s influence. The fact is, Naughty Dog made an official statement about this on their blog. They explained that they weren’t prepared to sacrifice future projects for the sake of supporting a live service game long-term, and that it was a studio decision to cancel the game. That’s the reason why it was cancelled!

And they have done an excellent job of filling those gaps with 2nd and 3rd party exclusives. At the end of the day all o care is that they provided me games to play. They could stop making games for 10 years and I'd never catch up as is. That being said it's no doubt they wasted tons of time on these live service games. But also, the reality is they are literally doing better than ever financially. Both things can be true.

Colin is a perfect example, he’s admitted multiple times that he would stop gaming if PlayStation ended trophies. But I understand that it’s not most people who obsess like that.

Absolutely loved the first game, traveled 13 miles in the deadass of winter February of that year when it came out, just to buy it off this guy. When I finally came home from the journey and started playing, it was so worth it, just blew my damn mind. To this day I still never played anything like it.
