I really appreciate that you guys talk about playing games that are not in the most recent or immediate news cycle. Gaming after children has left my back log endless and in some cases, I am years behind. Hearing you guys talk about playing games from your own backlog and not being so hyper focused on the new releases helps with appreciating the games for what they are and not simply absorbing them as part of the hype machine. I have far less FOMO listening to you guys.

Dark Matter is a cool sci-fi show on Apple TV+, it explores some really crazy existential concepts.

I'm looking forward to weeks worth of "nominative determinism" chat we're almost inevitably going to have. Very interesting and fun topic. (Love you Dustin)

I can’t imagine acting this pathetic over what a character in a video game looks like

Hi Dustin, The pulse earbuds they are ok, I don’t regret buying them but I just stick to the headset more often. I also think the form design is kinda awkward, gets some time getting used to. At $200 I do think it is very overpriced, it seems to have some high tech features that I have not used.

We gotta be the change we wanna see.

Hey Dustin, I have the Pulse Explore earbuds and really like them! I got them as a gift when they came out, so I can’t really truthfully say they’re worth it since I didn’t spend my own money, but I think they’re high quality. The major perk for me is that I can use them when I get a tired of having headphones on my head, especially as someone who wears glasses, and not feel like I’m losing much in sound quality if at all.

Hey Dustin, I know normal people aren’t normally in the comment sections because we have lives, but just wanted to come in here and say I appreciate everything you guys do! I have an endless supply of content to listen to at work, on the road, or when I’m going to sleep and that’s all because of you guys. Thank you!

Colton McKinney

Hey Dustin, I got the pulse explore on sale, I think for 170. I like them very much. I pretty much use them every time play the portal. I've also used them with the PS5 and the vr2 which was way better than the stock buds that come with the vr2. I also have them paired to my phone and will listen to a podcast while gaming and the buds will play sound from the portal and phone simultaneously. The eartips weren't my favorite but I have I bunch of extra tips and found much better tips to use. I'm trying to keep this short. Sorry lol

Glad to have you back guys! And I 100% agree with the listener who wrote in about wanting CCD's take on things, rather than worrying about other commenters opinions. You guys are the zeitgeist, not some random corner of social media.

Ben

We love you, Dustin. Remember, there are lots of sad and lonely people during the holidays.

For a second I thought Herman was Nick Scarpino in the thumbnail. lol.

The criticism you received over the Intergalactic stuff was valid, your own personal relationship with the creator has rendered you unwilling to see things objectively. I don't remember which episode, but over the break you (Colin) said that you hadn't played Metroid Dread and one of your primary reasons was that you dislike the company that made it. So it seems that in your world, you're allowed to refuse to play games by specific companies or creators, but other people aren't afforded the same privilege? This is illogical, and circles back to how I started this comment. Your personal biases haven't merely clouded your judgement, they're left you blind and tone deaf. You have a similar blind spot with your incessant anti Saudi Arabia human rights opinions, while you praise Apple products constantly despite them using slave labour in China. We all have our own foibles so this isn't a personal attack, but to act aghast and speak like your own shit doesn't stink when you are so vociferous in the other direction is a terrible look, and it's likely a huge part of why you got so much puhsback.

Chris, give us your ranking of The Strokes’ albums!

Forest management is a big issue up here in Canada. Our idiotic federal government refused to do any controlled burns. Even our indigenous peoples know that controlled burns are very necessary. All the underbrush just sits there waiting to be ignited by pretty much anything. The other pathetic thing is that the second a wild fire happens everyone blames climate change... Its so pathetic.

As someone who disagrees with the sacred crew’s take on the whole intergalactic situation I’d like to say a few things, and start a discussion here in the comments. Dustin or anyone from last stand, I’d love for you to read this but I totally understand if you don’t because it’s going to be a tad long. Before I start I’d like to say that I absolutely love last stand media and have been a long time fan. My goal here isn’t to change anyone’s mind, I disagree with things said on sacred symbols all the time, that’s fine. My goal is to get the sacred crew or at least some members of the community, that there are some valid criticisms of intergalactic. I’m not one of these people who are upset because the protagonist is “ugly”. I couldn’t care less if a protagonist in a game is conventionally attractive or not. I also don’t think there’s anything wrong with female characters in your story. I think women can be very relatable and well written in games. But there are a few key points that aren’t being addressed by the sacred boys regarding the intergalactic backlash. People with a traditionally conservative worldview don’t like to see women being portrayed as heavily masculine, whether it be in games, movies, anything really. I feel that pushing masculine virtues upon female characters over and over again has an unintended consequence of making feminine qualities seem lesser than, which isn’t true. Obviously, they aren’t lesser than, real femininity is something that should be celebrated and welcomed. You may say, well then just don’t play it if it bothers you, why even complain? It’s just really disappointing to see because naughty dog makes SUPER high quality games. Few make games on that level. We only get a game like this once every handful of years, so when one lets you down, it stings. The worst part is, I feel like people such as myself are being lumped in with the “Jordan is ugly, and everything is woke” crowd by the sacred crew. I think it needs to be acknowledged that there is a small minority of socially conservative people who have a legitimate grievance. I’d love to hear anyone’s thoughts in the reply’s to this comment!

the trolls were purged, the discord is much better

Lord have mercy I'm about to bust 💦

"everyone's a prisoner to the poisonous discourse of the loudest" Colin couldn't have hit that nail harder on the head. Every good person who I've met in the Sacred Discord has eventually left due to this. I had to remove myself from it as well. Ultimately a Discord server isn't all that important to your business, I'm sure. But it sucks that the community has no chance at growing in a positive way because of the dickheads who exist purely to stir the pot, and who are on there 24/7. I work in this industry and I get a ton of joy out of discussing all angles of it with people online. I wish this was where I could do that. I think you three are the most level-headed, unbiased and intelligent personalities in the gaming journalism space. You're the only ones I listen to for serious discussion, and I love that there's a comedic bonus as well. It's such a shame that your communal spaces don't reflect that, and are instead a breeding ground for trolls, bigotry and perpetual negativity. BUT.. that's just the Internet for you. I really don't think there's anything to be done other than to purely disengage, the way Colin did two years or so ago. Even if you enacted the "vote to eliminate the 10 worst offenders" idea, it wouldn't help anything. People would just re-join under alt accounts. Or more would step into the spaces left behind.

KeanuReeve

It was actually shocking to me how bad the YouTube comments were on the SS episodes over the break. Love you guys and this community overall, and be kind to one another ❤️

Wyatt the Riot

Peace and Love. Stay happy, healthy and hydrated!

Colin, you've been off the island for too long. It's the same shit here with people being inconsiderate of your time. The asshole has come out in people everywhere these days.
