[PATREON EXCLUSIVE]

Here it is, The Perks of Being a Wallflower reaction is finally yours. The last time I watched this film was in the cinema, wayyyyy back in 2012. So it's been a long time coming for me to rewatch this film. Or, cry through it!! I adored this more than I remember and it's truly a beautiful piece of cinema!! I basically remembered this film being about a group of misfits and that's about it... so it was kind of a first watch lol.

In the United States, depending on the state you live in. High School is generally 9th year to 12th year or 10th year to 12th year.

Pausing to say, yes you really should watch Rocky Horror and put it on here to let us watch with you. :)

Idk if they do this in Europe but around Halloween in America different movie theaters play rocky horror picture show and it is such a fun experience. People will dress up and bring props to throw at different parts of the movie. There is also a secret script that audience members will yell out during the movie and everyone will get up and do the time warp dance. If you ever watch the film and they have this where you are it is a great way to experience it!

I've seen this movie a lot. There's something about this movie that is healing for me. A lot of people are surprised when they hear about a man being sexually assaulted but it happens more often than we think. 1in6.org

So elementary is kindergarten and years 1-5 (most kids are 5 when they start K), middle school is years 6-8, and high school is years 9-12. Year 9 is freshman, 10-sophomore, 11-junior, 12-senior. We use the same terms for college too.

I'm also so sorry to hear about your friends, in some ways I relate because this film has a similar meaning to me... It's a movie that brings out what I've always called "healthy tears," because it doesn't leave you feeling hopeless or in that pit, but it also doesn't hide that those feelings are real and present in the world. Thank you so much for watching with me, and I am glad you were able to re-realize the movie!

Freshman= first year of high school: age 14-15 Sophomore= 2nd year: age 15-16 Junior= 3rd year: age 16-17 Senior= final year: age 17-18 So Charlie is in his first year of high school while all of his friends are in the last year. Now ages vary depending on birthdate and whether someone was held back or skipped grades.

You totally got it, the book and film are set in the early 90’s. Glad you were able to clock it from the clothes and phones. The speech definitely gives it away with the words they use too. No matter how many times I see this I cry so I was wiping tears right along with you babes

14 to 17/18 for highschool ages, which is honestly not my favorite in terms of age gap... I like to imagine Charlie is like 16 in my head
