I want to say thanks to you guys. I wasn't sure if you would be cool with me putting music here as paid content, since I figure most people signed up for this based on the main Katsu videos, which is completely understandable. So I asked you guys and put up a poll.

The response was overwhelmingly positive and encouraging, and you guys left a lot of supportive comments, and I really appreciate that. It makes me glad to know that I can be a little more experimental with what I make, and you guys are willing to give it the same value as my reviews. I love making music, and I'd like to do it from time to time.

This song was something I haven't done before. I definitely use synths in most of my music, but they're usually accompanied by guitar and - most importantly - bass. I grew up listening to Primus, RHCP, Sublime, and other bands where the bass either carries the music, or is the lead instrument, so when I write a song, I don't start on a midi roll, I start with my bass guitar. Candy Ass is a good example of that - the entire song is constructed around a bassline.

Just as importantly, I usually have lyrics on my tracks.

Doing an EDM song with no vocals and just synths is not something I usually do. Everyone says electronic music is easy to make, but making it sound interesting sure isn't. If you're doing a song with vocals, your verses and choruses can be instrumentally very similar or even identical, and it works, because the lyrics are constantly changing and keeping the track interesting, and that's what I usually do.

I've done little bits of electronic music, but I've never done a full track like this. It's not my wheelhouse, and it was hard to keep it interesting.

I've had requests to put this on spotify, but I can't. Spotify requires going through a distributor, which costs a lot of money, and also requires you to give up personal information which I'm not willing to give. The best I can do is put it on soundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/user-156409346-701601099/nfteeznuts

Anyway, where are the normal videos? There's a lot coming.

This month, instead of making individual videos from start to finish one after the other, I decided to write a bunch at once, record them all at once, and edit them all at once. I want to see if that process is more efficient. So there's going to be a shitload of content dropping in rapid succession during the last week of the month.

And speaking of that, I have to get back to work. As always, thanks to you guys for being here. There's lots of videos coming, and I'll see you soon.

"That way the mind doesn't have to switch modes quite as often." Yes! This is exactly what I was thinking. Writing and recording two videos at once and then editing those two videos at once feels easier than doing the entire process twice in succession.

Appreciate it, and I'm glad you like Candy Ass. It was one of my first songs, so it wasn't polished but I think it had good energy.

As a programmer I completely understand why you'd want to change your workflow like this. When I don't work in a team where you have to keep changes small so we won't stumble over each other's changes I also prefer to start by adding 20 Buttons/Sliders/whatevers to the GUI, then adding all the code for what they're supposed to do, then testing everything and then documenting everything. That way the mind doesn't have to switch modes quite as often. If you build a buffer the audience won't even notice the change in workflow, but I'm not gonna say no to you dropping everything at once. :-)

I loved all the songs on the last channels videos. I listen to candy ass a few times a week. So however and where ever you put out music, count me in

If the mass video dump format works for ya then cool. If not no biggie, do it the way you find most enjoyable :)
