Chapter 23 

Chapter 24 Warrior From Another World Tier Halibel!

‘Who is this woman?’ Ichigo had chills. This woman was different than anyone they had encountered before. ‘What does she mean about true fight?’

“You must be one of this world’s heroes, what is your name?” She spoke towards Ichigo.

Ichigo smirked. “Isn’t it proper etiquette to tell your name before asking someone else’s?”

She lowered her fan from her lips. “Pardon my rudeness.” Her aura flared. “I am a warrior from another world, The Fan Hero, Tier Halibel!”

“Another hero?” The five looked between each other, sharing several confused looks.

“Well at least this one is a beauty!” Askin slicked back his hair. “If you’re a hero like us, how about we sit down for a drink or two!” He wiggled his brows in a flirtatious manner.

Halibel smirked. “Make no mistake, a hero I may be, but I am not your ally!” She pointed her fan at Ichigo. “Now, your name...hero…”

“Ichigo Kurosaki!”

She chuckled. “He who protects, I wonder will you be able to protect this world, or will you be sacrificed for mine!” She charged at Ichigo.

‘This is bad...I’m exhausted after that last attack…’

Before Halibel could strike the other heroes made their move. “Don’t ignore us!” Askin said thrusting his spear at her, only for her to dodge.

Cang Du and Uryu attacked her, only for her to back flip out of the way, with their momentum they ended up slamming into each other. “Impact Arrow!” Bazz-B fired a shot at her, which she moved to block with her fan.

Upon connecting. POW! She was hit by a shock wave and pushed back. ‘This one also shows promise.’

Bazz-B fired three more shots at her. “First Dance: Hungry Waves!” Water gathered around her fans and she unleashed a cutting attack to strike the arrows from afar.

The red head reacted quickly. ‘A water user huh, try this.’ He knocked two arrows. “Double Shot: Lightning Arrow!”

“Second Dance: Tranquil Sea!” She used the fans, closing them and catching the arrows directly at the point. The lightning magic fizzled out.

‘She neutralized the magic?!’ Indeed she did, Tranquil Sea could negate any offensive magic enchantment or attack if countered.

“Lightning Spear!” Askin charged in.

“Lightning Blade!” Uryu charged in, the two witnessing her water magic so used their own lightning attacks.

She blocked them with Tranquil Sea once more, their weapons reverting back to normal. “What?!”

“Tsunami Strike!” She spun conjuring a vortex of water, she hit the two, and sent them flying into the vortex, colliding with each other and falling to the ground.

Cang Du was preparing his own attack. “Thunderous Smite!” He conjured a black storm cloud above Tier’s head, when he brought his axe down a bolt of lightning followed.

“Fourth Dance: Calming Pearl!” A barrier of water formed around her, the lightning struck it and ran over it.

Cang Du was stunned. “But how...how did a water spell block my lightning attack.”

Halibel raised her fan to her face. “It’s simple...I’m just stronger than you…” He glared at her.

She wasn’t confident for long as suddenly an arrow pierced her barrier and caught her shoulder. ‘Him again!’

Bazz-B smirked. “Piercing Arrow!” He fired two more shots, but Tier dispelled her barrier and chose to dodge them.

“You also seem worthy of your holy weapon, what is your name?”

“My name is Bazz-B.” He tried to look confident but he was honestly worried. ‘I don’t think we can take her.’ He hoped Ichigo had a plan.

“You aren’t half bad, you and Ichigo seem to be worthy of your sacred treasures, the rest of you are not. I pity the holy weapons you hold.” Halibel fanned herself. “You do not deserve to call yourselves heroes!”

“How dare you insult Askin-sama!” Bambietta snapped. “Explosion!” She fired an explosion spell but Tier didn’t even block it.

“If you fools are so eager to die, I’ll gladly end you and let the sacred treasures find more worthy holders.” Both fans were opened. “Fifth Dance: Wrath of the Sea!”

This dance conjured violent currents that surged through the air like sea snakes, the heroes and their parties were caught in them getting twisted and thrown about before getting slammed down.

Ichigo grabbed Bazz-B and erected a shield for him and the party. The barrier held up but they were pushed back. ‘The force of her magic is intense.’ Ichigo thought. He was analyzing their fight so far, while taking some potions to recover, the dances seemed to be the fan’s techniques, where as she had other water attacks under her belt.

“Damn...she’s tough!” Ichigo’s barrier fell.

Ichigo stood up. “The scary part is I don’t think she’s gotten serious enough yet.”

“You gotta be kidding?!” Bazz-B looked at Tier. “Damn...we’re fucked…”

The other heroes and the party members were knocked out but not dead. “It seems you are tougher than you look, but no matter you will no longer interfere.” It was likely the divine protection of the holy weapons, but that would defend them only so much.

Her focus turned on Ichigo’s group. ‘Can we beat her?’ He felt a deep panic fill him. ‘Fight or flight...the choice could mean death…’

His hand was shaking. Renji took hold of his hand. “It’s okay Ichigo, we are with you!”

“Master, she is very strong but I think we can still win!” Toshiro said.

“If we work together, we might be able to bring her down.” Komamura said.

“Let’s kick her ass!” Grimmjow growled and flexed his claws.

“She’s strong but she’s alone, if we pull our strengths we can win!” Rose added.

Bazz-B patted his shoulder. “I got your back.”

‘Fight or run...let’s plan for both then!’ Ichigo smirked. “We won’t know until we try!”

She began to approach them. “Now then let’s fight for real!” Her next charge came, and Ichigo met her attack with his shield.

Halibel struck the Chimera Viper Shield and knocked Ichigo back. “Ichigo!” His friends called out.

“Well, impressive for you to block my attack.”

Glint!

Suddenly two snakes came out and bit into Halibel. “Poison? How cute, but this level of poison won’t be enough to slow me down.” She smacked the snakes away.

“How dare you!?” Grimmjow charged in, boosting himself with Gust Quick. It looked like he hit five times.

“You just delivered 15 strikes in a moment.” Grimmjow glared at her. “Also!”

Sajin had hid Renji using Fast Hiding. The nue attacked Halibel from behind, but she blocked him with her fan. “A good strike, as I thought you are different from the others.” She closed her eyes. “But not good enough!”

With a close of her fan she broke Renji’s sword. “Farewell!” She moved to kill Renji and Grimmjow.

“Snake Ivy!”

“Ropes of Light!” Sajin attacked, creating magical ropes to stop her movement. Rose’s attack came from below, snaking their way up her kimono to bind her.

“Ice Dragon’s Roar!” Toshiro unleashed his mighty dragon attack, unleashing snow and ice that struck Halibel, seemingly freezing her solid.

Grimmjow and Renji got away in time. “Yes we got her!” Toshiro cheered.

‘Too soft!’ Halibel opened her eyes and the ice shattered. “A good attempt but you failed to freeze me to my core.” She dusted herself off.

Sajin brought his hands together. “Shadow Double!” He manifested a copy of himself, both stood on either side of Halibel. “Shadow Bullet!” The two opened fire on her.

“Fourth Dance: Calming Pearl!” The water barrier was back, to her shock the impact of the bullets caused her barrier to ripple. ‘He is quite strong, a powerful magic user!’

“Frost Breath!” Toshiro sprang in using his breath attack, he managed to freeze her barrier. When the next Shadow Bullet’s came her pearl shattered.

Halibel sadly, was ready to block, especially after Bazz-B’s piercing attack from before. She blocked the Shadow Bullets. “Sword Fish Lance!” She shot at Sajin, but he switched places with his double. The attack blew a hole through his shadow clone.

The attacks kept coming. “Tornado Fist!” Tier blocked the attack, but was met with a surprise as the tornado kept going and pushed her back.

“Enough!” With a wave of her fan she dispelled the tornado.

“Blossom Blizzard!” Rose unleashed a flurry of magic petals.

Halibel used both fans to block the attack. Once Rose’s attack ended, Renji came in. “Blast Fist!” With an explosive punch he managed to break her stance. “Strike her Zabimaru!”

His snake tail lunged and managed to bite her shoulder. “I already told you such tricks won’t…” Burning pain shot through her arm, her limb going numb.

“Acid Spit!”

“Icicle Lance!”

“Tornado Shot!”

“Shadow Bullet!”

The four attacks hit. “Hehehehe….hahahahaha…” The smoke cleared and she looked unharmed. They didn’t know it but she had a defense buff on her thanks to her Shark Skin Skill, it was a small buff that protected her from magic attacks. “Wonderful, so this is the Shield Heroes party, I was hoping for a challenge.” She hated to bully the weak, having strong opponents to fight made a fight worth something. “Third Dance: Hunting Depths!” She conjured Water Sharks that attacked the party, one for each of them.

Renji and Sajin were able to hold off the sharks but were brought to their knees. Toshiro tried to outrun the shark but it chased him and took him down. Grimmjow tried to fend off the shark but got overpowered and knocked out. Rose was also brought down by the shark, he tried to hold on to work some healing magic on the others.

“You didn’t die well done!” She raised her uninjured arm. “Sixth Dance: Cleansing Waterfall!” She gathered water from the air, it washed over her healing her and cleansing her of the poison.

‘So the odd number dances are offensive attacks, while the even number dances are for healing and defense.’ Ichigo was worried what the seventh dance was gonna be, he had a feeling it’d be seven.

“You’ve raised your party well shield hero.” She raised her fan. “Tsunami Shot!” Water gathered and surged violently as it was condensed into a sphere. With a wave of her fan she aimed it at Ichigo and Bazz-B, whoosh!

Ichigo changed his shields activating Dual Shield to use two different ones at once. “Back me up!” Bazz-B nodded.

He blocked her attack using Guard Dog Shield. The impact caused shadow hounds to spring up and attack Tier. ‘So he has counters for even long range attacks.’ The dogs were fierce enough to hold her down, they would have to be destroyed or slow her down.

“Gator Wheel!”

“Swift Arrow!” The two heroes attacked.

Halibel blocked the buzz saw, but wasn’t fast enough to catch the other, as an arrow zoomed fast and caught her shoulder. ‘I see, they’ll keep their distance and stall me out.’

Ichigo surprised her as he ran up and got in her face. “Razor Wheel!” The Gator Shield 2 spun around like a buzz saw and Ichigo used it slash at Halibel, she tried to block it, but the spinning blade overwhelmed her defense and he landed a slash on her, cutting open her kimono a bit.

‘To think the shield hero would have offensive options, but…’ Her aura flared. “Shark Fin Tide!” Water erupted from her form, with glowing shark fins moving around it.

Ichigo blocked the attack but he was pushed back and his shadow hounds were sliced up. “Piercing Arrow!” Bazz-B attacked the barrier, only for his arrow to be sliced up by a shark fin.

‘An attack shield?’ The spell ended. Ichigo and Bazz-B could tell she was a seasoned fighter, with as many skills and abilities as they do if not more.

“Are you mocking me?” Halibel glared at Ichigo.

‘What? Does she think I’m going easy on her?’

She walked over to Renji. “If you don’t stop holding back, I’ll have to end this one’s life.”

“Stop, get away from him!” Ichigo howled.

“So it seems, this one must be the sacrifice to get you to fight me seriously.” She raised her fan.

Ichigo roared in rage as the Shield of Rage 2 manifested once more. It caused Dual Shield to fall, focusing on the one shield. “You asked for this!” Ichigo fired a Doom Blast.

Tier used her fans to block it, but the force of the attack pushed her back and slammed her into the ship. “Indeed I did!” She charged at Ichigo and struck him, he was able to withstand it this time, plus…

“Burning Curse!” Flames burst out and washed over Halibel.

“Hmm...I was expecting a bit more, these flames of rage feel a bit cold…” Ichigo’s eyes widened. She jumped. “Shark Fang Tempest!” Ichigo was pelted with glowing shark teeth.

This attack had a piercing effect which cut through all of Ichigo’s defense buffs. “Gah!” Wounds all over his body.

“Ichigo!” Bazz-B called out. He readied an arrow.

“Don’t interfere, this is just getting good. Water Prison!” She trapped him in a sphere of water. “Is this the best you have? If you don’t break my concentration he’ll drown.” Ichigo could tell now, this game she was playing she was testing him analyzing him. Just now she figured out that this shield didn’t have a counter for long ranged attacks.

“You want my best...you got it...Iron Maiden!” He performed the combo, and hauled Tier into the air. As she was drawn into the Iron Maiden however…crack...wham-bam!

The iron maiden began to swell as if it was filling up with water before it burst open showing Tier unharmed. “Not as powerful as I was expecting.”

‘I’m out of moves…’

‘Hate her...kill her...destroy her…’ Ichigo began to sweat as his mind began to give way to darkness.

“Deep Sea Fangs!” She brought her fans together and created magical shark teeth and launched them at Ichigo.

“Gah!” He cried out. The armor shattered and his shield reverted back to one.

“If that’s the best you have, this fight is over, I’ve won this fight at the wave!” She raised her fan.

“Shadow Chains!” Chains wrapped around Halibel. He had Grimmjow and Rose, and Renji had Toshiro. Rose used his roots to absorb the Water Prison, he didn’t know he could do that until he clashed with the shark, he had absorbed some of the attack allowing him to retain consciousness. Bazz-B was free.

“Truly a fantastic duel, thank you Shield and Bow Hero, this was fun. Seventh Dance….” Ding-Ding-Ding. “No...out of time...already...but how…”

“First Light!”

“Poison Mist!” Komamura and Rose combo attacked and created a smoke screen as they fled.

Ichigo summoned shadow hounds and the big doggos carried the group running as fast as their four legs could run.

Halibel broke free of the chains. As a sign of the wave’s closing the ship lost it’s ability to fly and began to slowly sink from the air. She tried to attack at a distance, but her long range attacks lacked the power to finish this as Ichigo’s shield skills and magic supported their escape.

“So this is my loss...but know this heroes...this isn’t over…” Next time, she wouldn’t be alone. This was but a scouting mission for her, her vassals wanted to go in her place, but she chose to come alone. “It is we who shall win the battle of the waves!” She lifted into the sky and vanished.

The wave ended and not a minute too late, as Ichigo passed out from his injuries and lack of magic power, the shadow hounds dispersing as he lost consciousness.
