At least until the next movie, then let's pray they put as much thought and soul into it as they did for this one. What a love story to K-Pop and Korea Maggie! I'm honored to have seen and experienced it with so many others.

Once you sync the two based on the time stamp, it wasn't too bad because then I could moderate the volumes of both streams as I wanted, and I could hear the whole movie, instead of having portions of the movie audio muted, as they do on a lot of other reaction videos. Ultimately, I was glad to watch with these two gentlemen, and I really appreciated their input and insights to the Korean side of things in the movie.

I totally got psyched up more when I heard this, cuz it was already good and then that just increased my excitement. EXO my ult bias....lol in case you couldn't tell

I find it very unpleasant to have to watch the two on two separate devices. Maybe I missed it but it doesn’t say anywhere that it’s separate and that’s not what I paid for, so I would like to ask if it’s possible to give me s refund bcs I didn’t pay 4$ to watch you guys sit there without the actual movie. Again if I missed the notice somewhere my bad but I didn’t see anywhere stating that it’s only the commentary and not the movie also.

2025-10-12 12:39:25 +0000 UTC-BTOB’s Eunkwang just made a Golden cover, in the original key & killed it of course. - The creator Maggie & her husband actually went to see Ateez’s In Your Fantasy concert! Super cool! - I was blessed to visit Korea last fall for a month & it was so much fun seeing areas that I actually visited in the film. I watched the movie (the first time lol) with my son & being able to point out places I recognized by visiting was special. Getting to explore & climb a mountain and the area where Jinu & Rumi kept meeting was one of the highlights of my trip.

And a potential live-action remake!!! So hopefully that helps ease some of Han-C‘s frustrations. Annnnnnnd I may have bought wayyy too much merch from Netflix (and we‘re all campaigning for the lightsticks to be real things already)

When she spoke to people about wanting to create a group with deaf members almost everyone told her she shouldn't do it and it would be a waste of money because artists are supposed to sell perfection and how could a group with disabilities ever do that. But she said in the space of a year the comments under Big Ocean videos changed from 'I'm so touched seeing them work so hard' to 'oh my gosh you're so hot!!!' and basically just like every other group, and that the music shows were all interested because it was fresh and new and they thought performing in Sign language was really clever and interesting. I really love following her and Big Ocean because of how they disrupt some of the bad sides of the industry- they show full practices, bare faced, exhausted, they are really open about the process and even the staff interact with the fandom- they also try to poll the fandom if there are concerns about something and get direct feedback to shape how to develop in the future. I love how they debuted as a group of 'we're not perfect, but watch us grow' and want to be respected for that. I think a lot of groups are pushing to be a little more expressive and open but I just find Parastar a really interesting company in how they approach things.

2025-07-20 20:41:18 +0000 UTCI am still so shocked at how good this film is!!!! Just came home after back to back Stray Kids concert nights and I needed this to continue to ride the high ... Seriously felt like I helped to stabilise the Honmoon last night ... at least my heart was definetly glowing ✨. TMI ...I may have wached this the first time (not this evening!!!) while in the bath with my lightstick... no shame. Everyone has been comparing the Saja Boys to lots of different boy groups (ATEEZ, Enhypen, Vixx, BTS and even SKZ), which is entertaining in itself, obviously they used lots of different inspirations... For me I actually think of Stray Kids when I see Huntrix ... not because of the sound... but more for the lyrics, self produced aspect and the family-like bond... especially Rumi / Bang Chan and Zoey / Han ... I would love to say Mira reminds me of Changbin and make it a 3Racha trio ... but other than the pink Dwaekki hair she reminds me of Lee Know. ... But that is probably just me stuck in my SKZ Bubble. My Kpop fan friends all have their own ideas as well, and I think that is one of the great strenghs of this film ... Kpop fans can see their idols in it and understand the messages, and non-fans get a great beautiful entertaining film. I also want the tiger!!!

Junhee covered Your Idol literally a week after the movie dropped because fans told him he looked/sounded like Jinu. He and AleXa released a duet cover of Free, and AleXa just released a cosplay cover of How It's Done as the first video on her new youtube channel! Both of them just became independent from their former companies this year, so I'm really proud of them. I liked it a lot the first time around too, but got to enjoy all the little details the 2nd time. The soundtrack has been added to my regular rotation playlist and it's been on regularly at work too. OBSESSED with "Free." The 2nd chorus gives me chills every time. Honestly, I was never really a Twice fan, but this movie kinda made me wanna check out their songs. I NEED A DEMON TIGER PETPET ASAP. Ideally, one who has a magpie buddy 😆

I’d love to see you react to the full versions of the songs and maybe some of the covers—Jinu’s voice actor Ahn Hyo-seop did a video of himself singing Free, and my biased opinion is you should definitely check out Junhee of A.C.E’s covers of Your Idol and Free (which he did with AleXa), but there have been a lot of great ones, both of the songs themselves and of the dances.

One of them loves saja boys and says soda pop is great, but my other friend did not like it. She said it was too cringe. I just havnt been able to bring myself to watch it yet, but based on snips and clips i keep seeing on youtube and instagram i think soda pop might be too much for me, just a difference in music taste . but i think i will like the songs by the girls.

I was super impressed the first time I watched it but I think I liked it better the second time. I love the homages to different groups sounds and visuals in the music and choreography. This was my third time watching it since it dropped and it hits even more on repeat viewings. :D Some fun bits of trivia about the film and setting: - some fans noticed, and one of the creators confirmed, that a major inspiration for the tiger and bird (whose names, according to Maggie Kang, are Derpy and Sussy respectively) was Joseon-era jakhodo art, where the tiger was drawn looking foolish to satirize the nobility, while the magpie was drawn looking intelligent to represent the common people responsible for the art style; this also ties into Jinu's backstory, as he's 400 years old and thus himself from the Joseon era; - the little girl who sings the "we are hunters, voices strong" song in the background is the daughter of Maggie Kang and Radford Sechrist, and her name is also Rumi - named after the character, as it took them 9 years to get the film made! Also, Sechrist is an animator in his own right and the creator of Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts, and as such helped to design in particular the tiger, drawing inspiration from their own pet cat as well as one of his Kipo characters, Yumyan Hammerpaw; - EJAE ended up as Rumi's singing voice because she helped to write/produce the Huntrix songs and thus sang the demos; they liked her so much that they kept her on! Rumi's regular voice actress, however, Arden Cho, is best known (at least to me) as Kira from Teen Wolf; - As of right now, Golden is charting so insanely in Korea (as well as globally) that the song has achieved a perfect all-kill, while for the Saja Boys, Soda Pop and Your Idol are also charting strongly; - Jinu's main voice actor, Ahn Hyo-Seop, originally trained as an idol and is himself a singer, but as Andrew Choi is Jinu's singing voice, the only song Hyo-Seop sings in the film is the short one with the pipa when he's first introduced talking to Gwima (the "will he let the fire go out" one). However, he's since posted a clip of himself singing Rumi's verse from Free, and it's awesome! - Multiple idols and groups have done choreo challenges for Soda Pop; some vocalists have released covers of Golden, and a few have even done covers in costume to match the film, notably Wonho cosplaying as Abby while covering Soda Pop and then donning a gat and hanbok to sing Your Idol; Jungkook also rewatched the film on livestream while singing along to most of the songs. Hilariously, Woozi and Wooyoung have both said that while they loved the music, they couldn't get into the story because they were too thrown off by the industry inaccuracies, such as (for instance) the idea of a joint fansign XD - Gwima being able to be read as a metaphor for the dark side of the industry was intentional on Maggie Kang's part; she's also said that she originally wanted JYP to voice Gwima, which would've really literalized the metaphor! - If you look at the scene in Doctor Han's office with the photos on the walls of him with past clients, there's a shot of him with three guys in red outfits that are very clearly based on Danceracha during Thunderous era! ATEEZ has also been listed as an inspiration for the Saja Boys during Your Idol, along with EXO. And I think D'Some even wondered about this aloud during the stream, but Jinu's visuals were indeed based in part on Cha Eun-Woo! - How It's Done blends *shockingly* well with Domino by Stray Kids, to the point where someone has made a full mashup of the two - I'll happily send a link if you're interested! - Rumi's sword is a traditional Korean sword, but when she receives Jinu's soul, the shape transforms into something closer to a hwando, which is specifically a Joseon-era blade. Mira fights with a hyeopdo, also known as an eyebrow sword due to the curved blade (which is very apropos, given her eyebrows and attitude!); while Zoey uses kunai. I could say more (I love this film SO much and could probably write an essay about the themes) but please let me know if you want me to send you links of idols doing challenges for/reacting to the film! :D

The ones I remember off the top are EJAE and Audrey nuna for rumi and mira. And EJAE contributed heavily to the whole soundtrack was a former sm trainee and ended up producing all over the industry including Armageddon and drama by Vespa and psycho by red velvet And shame as the weakness exploited by demons and the big conflict point was so smart for an idol and asian story that connects to all of us.

2025-07-18 04:48:38 +0000 UTCthe way i did it was open netflix on my ipad and play the patreon video on my laptop, when they counted it down i just pressed play. so, if you have a second device you can use (even your phone or tv would work), you can do it the way i did it. the only issue with this is that you kinda have to not pause either of the videos lol, otherwise you'll have to try to sync them up manually (i had to do that a couple of times, the easiest places to sync up are when ajummas show up on the screen because almost all the time Han-C mentioned them almost immediately lol). But if you don't pause, you should be fine with the syncing And i don't think i can help with getting into animated stuff since i've always loved watching animation my whole life, i guess you just gotta find something that really interests you?

2025-07-18 04:40:32 +0000 UTCI don't know if there was a mistake in the source you were looking at but the singing cast for Rumi was Ejae, apparently the producers got so used to hearing the demos from Ejae's voice, they just kept her parts, that's kinda why certain sections sound so raw, it's because it's the demo where she was just singing it for other people to sing the lines. Audrey Nuna did the singing for Mira's parts. Thankfully, I watched this already, in my own time, and 'in my own time' meant, it took me 3 days to finish. It wasn't any fault of the film, I loved it, have convinced 3 coworkers to watch it haha, but in this format... it's rough. I very, very, very rarely get into anything animated (even as a kid), I have the attention span of a gnat (except SKZ, been hyperfocused on them for like 4 years now) so.... tips...tricks??? For a newbie like me?
