MagicaCSG Beta 0.5.0: Subgrouped Boolean

Comments

noy yet. currently it's equivalent to transform multiple selected strokes.

May we eventually be able to specify/adjust the pivot point for rotation/scaling of subgroups?

moat

there will be something similar in the following updates.

I am loving 0.5.0! I have been hoping for grouped brushes since 2020, at least and this is great for some projects I've had in the back of my mind! For the future, in addition to blending, will groups get more options? - like their own Shell slider? Working off of that, is it possible to have brushes within a group "persist" through the group - simplest example would be a group containing a box with its interior hollowed out by a subtractive sphere. Duplicate that group, offset it slightly so that it overlaps with the first group. Mark the second subtractive sphere to "persist", so that it "drills" through the overlapping brushes of the first group as well. This should result in a single chamber inside, rather than two overlapping walls. Here is a terribly drawn example: https://imgur.com/a/lP0mSk9 I understand that I could just ungroup the subtractive sphere, and for now that is easily acceptable, just clunky, as I would need to select it along with the group if I wanted to transform the whole group. Thank you ephtracy!

5.0 has been a godsend so far. Thank you for everything. As an aside, I've updated and re-ordered my MCSG wish list. It's fun to check off features as they happen. Respectfully, before too many more shape or feature additions though, the program desperately needs the ability to output higher resolution renders. Larger than the 2000x2000 we're limited to. Especially for tall things, it really hurts to only have that. https://dynalist.io/d/DdCdeEwzDy01bm_-G31jsn27#theme=dark
