We all lost our mind. You really have to experience Guerrilla at their concert. The “break the wall” fan chant is like an out of body experience. You should also watch The Ring and New World concert performance. Seonghwa is going to wreck you.

Now, that being said, let's get into a few fun facts that might blow your mind: 1- The instrumental of Sector 1 intro is the same one at the beginning of Answer MV (so they have been cooking The World Ep. 1 since 2020) 2- The bell sound at the end of Guerrilla MV is the same of Halazia (and Halazia MV was a spin-off of their lore), also the Prestige Academy uniform that the kid is using in that ending clip, is the same HALATEEZ/ATEEZ wear on Bouncy MV as symbol that they infiltrate the academy! 3- ATEEZ gave hints up for Guerrilla MV ever since their Rhythm Ta (Awakening Of Summer) performance in Kingdom 2021, they used newspapers talking of The Black Pirates/HALATEEZ, flyers of "Art, Dance, Music" prohibited, a sound record like the one used at The World Ep.1 trailers and even the airship balloon! 4- "One ring to rule them all, one ring to bring them all" in The Ring is a reference of The Lord of The Rings books/movies. **Not a fun fact but there's performances videos of all the songs of this album except for WDIG, so you SHOULD DEFENITELY react to it** Of all of ateez discography, The World album series is heavely focused on the Z world and lore so the sound is more cinematic rather than melodic, which is why most of the songs will be very experimental and unique, cuz it TELLS a story and will have many book and movies references so I hope you have that in mind so you see the album series on a new perspective! ATEEZ are so dedicated to their craft, and I admire how they always try new genres and make it their own, will look forward for the next album reaction.

But basically each track in the album is a different stage of the rebellion. Guerilla/the ring are when the fighting is happening. WDIG is right after when the people aren’t under mind control anymore, so it’s sort of them wondering where they go now and what they’re supposed to do. And then “new world” follows it as like the motivational call to form the new world.

2025-03-14 05:24:30 +0000 UTCNigel if you remember from kingdom, the beginning of the song Guerilla when it says “the disease is human emotion” is the same intro they used for the kingdom performance where they did Ikons song “Rhythm Ta”. In that performance they portrayed lots of elements from the Guerilla MV, which had not yet been released. That whole performance was basically a teaser for Guerilla. It had the rebellion and the blimps and flyers, and the same intro to the song!

I thought you would rate it like that based of your last rankings and music taste. So i guess most of the world series will not be to your full taste Guerrilla does not mean the animal. It is a term within war for a specific group. New World, Cyberpunk Guerrilla and The Ring live are an expirience. I never heard a louder fanchant than i did for guerrilla. Hongjoong also learned the scream and is doing it now live. So crazy good. Please watch live performances of this album or all. You really need to see them. Seonghwa is just an amazing performer :) as they all are. But he goes wild on stage 🫨

2025-03-14 04:22:22 +0000 UTCNigel, so explaining a bit, they were in a world where people are not used to feel or think they were controled by others and that is scary but also convenient because when you don't need to make decisions or deal with ur own feelings, "life is less confusing" however, they asking people to stop doing that, wake up, look the world, don't be numb to it. That itself is very fiting to our world, people are numb online, looking to forget real life and feelings with the endorphine they get from content, they are ok with others making decisions that affect them, (rulers, goverment, parents, etc) but in the lore what happens is after they change things and make people wake up to look at them, now those people have to deal with feelings, fear, confusion, suffering, emotions, everything they didn't have to do before. So the last 2 songs, WDIG and new world talk a bit about that chaos. That chaos is new to those waking up and seeing the true world, so like humans we know, emotions are confusing and not always easy, we struggle with that our whole life and those have to face that now. But in a world with so many feeling that way, is bound to be complicated and very chaotic. And that is where we leave on this album to the next one, to explore that chaos.

This may just be me, but I feel like ATEEZ have the type of songs that are meant to be performed live. I believe that watching the performances to many of the songs Nigel doesn't like may change his mind about the song. While watching this video, I was visualizing the choreo for Sector 1 and The Ring because those performances are perfection. Side Note: I hope Nigel will get into fancams from ATEEZ. Since we're on this album, one I think would fit is a San Guerilla Fancam.

I feel like this album, and for the most part the entirety of "The World" series was kind of polarizing when it released, people either loved it or hated it lol, but in my experience a lot of Ateez songs had to grow on me.

Yes, you should definitely go back through the albums to watch dance practices AND LIVE PERFORMANCES!!! Not every song has a dance practice, but a good majority have been performed live or have a special clip. In order not to be negative in the comments, I'm going to hold my opinion about your opinion on the album. 😒 For me, Movement has always been in my top 3 favorite albums for Ateez. Currently, it's tied for first place with Outlaw (the next album). "Guerrilla" is what made me an atiny but "The Ring" became my favorite song on this album. To answer some of your questions: "We are the Guerrillas" - Guerrilla here is in reference to guerrilla warfare. Which is where small, irregular forces use unconventional tactics against larger military or political forces. So Atz, is using guerrilla warfare tactics in the MV to disrupt the system in Strictland (the world they're currently in) with their music and wake up those that are being brainwashed. "The boy at the end of the MV" - So like the old man says, they cannot force these people to change. They have to let them choose to change. And that's what we're seeing at the end of the video. One of the students from Prestige Academy has chosen to break free. So the resistance is working. -- FYI: The boy at the end was a KQ trainee. I believe it's either Minjae or Yechan from Xikers (of course, before Xikers was a group). Atiny (or Roady) correct me if I'm wrong. "WDIG" - Someone provided an explanation for WDIG, and I think it could be up for interpretation, but to me, I thought it was more of them asking themselves, "where do I go from here, now that this has started". Ateez are essentially strangers to this world, but they're here to fight for this cause. And now that the resistance and this fight has started and the world is crashing around them, I feel like this song is a self-reflection for them to look back at what is happening around them. And they question, "where do I go" from here? And they answer themselves with "Low, low, low, diving deeper" because at this point, they can't turn back. They can't stop here, they have to keep going and fighting the fight. Which leads to "New World" because the world has now changed from what it used to be. Overall, you understood the message really well! Like you said, the trailers really help with understanding the album and this series if you're trying to understand the meaning behind the lyrics. And I also love how the songs are written for the lore, but even with this type of sound and message they're giving, it can still be tied to real life, which is sad at the same time, haha. I think the entire concert is on YouTube, too. He was a fashion designer but lost his daughter and starts hallucinating her in the Strictland dump and the yellow fog (Ateez's Fireworks MV). I know you never liked Guerilla, but it has THE fanchant. The feeling of being at a stadium in LA in July and screaming with thousands of Atinys to " Break The Wall" is the best experience ever. Truly beyond words how amazing and motivating Ateez music is. I remember listening to Guerilla and other songs from this album and the next two. I was ready to overthrow the corrupt power everywhere while twerking lol. 😅🥰

The songs sounded okay, but quite similar to each other, so I couldn’t quite tell what song I was listening to if I didn’t look up the title except for Guerrilla. HOWEVER, after listening to it for years now, it has become one of my favorite and go to albums when I go into an Ateez binge. I adore and scream at the top of my lungs every single song and lyric that I ended up knowing by heart and every time I listen to it I get this feeling in my chest to start screaming and rebel over everything that is wrong in the world. Long story short, for me, this album went from okay to mfking inspiring so trust the process unc!

Just a fun story I wanna share about this album: shortly after this album was released they went on tour (the fellowship:break the wall) and ofc most of this album was on the setlist!! The way they opened this concert though... INSANE. Usually at concerts, groups will display their mvs for the fans while they wait for the show to start! So ATEEZ did just that: display mvs while we waited. Next thing you know- ONE MINUTE BEFORE THE SHOW STARTS.. sirens go off and blare all throughout the arena leaving us all in shock, Lights flickering and everything!!! Then the confetti canons go off releasing little papers similar to the guerilla mv!!! some had the words "break the wall" while others had the anarchy symbol (the huge red A they show on the blimps in the mv) TRULY FUCKING COOL. The opening song.... New world. Light saber looking lights around them while they were in hoods (fun fact they had xikers on tour w them predebut to give them exposure, so they got to hold the lights for them LOLOLOL) BEST CONCERT EVER!! and if you haven't seen guerilla concert vids... Guerilla is THE song to scream your lungs out especially at the end where the song goes "BREAK THE WALL." It's our iconic fanchant and the loudest one yet, I truly recommend hearing it. So "in a world where all of this is promised and preached, I am excluded, or do not fit into their 'ideal'". How the government promises many things only for people to realize that they are not the demographic that the top % is looking out for. They are, in other words, insignificant or unimportant to the people in power.

2025-03-14 01:42:07 +0000 UTCWhat's crazy is we got a snippet of this story/lore in Kingdom Legendary War when they performed 'Rhythm Ta' and incorporated the whole rebellion and the sky blimps and the intro of the performance used the backing dialogue from their trailers: "the disease is human emotion". And this album came out way after Kingdom, about 2-3 albums after. It's amazing how involved their storyline is. You should go back and react to the Rhythm Ta performance now knowing this.

How they integrate the story is 🤯 I knew it wouldn’t be your favorite set of songs since you tend to not like these styles as much as the more sweeping vocal and more upbeat songs. Which is OK! But I can’t wait for you to see more content! WDIG - You were basically right. It is from the point of view of the people waking up and feeling both good things and bad things for the first time and now sure if they like it or what to do with themselves. In the lore, the boy that comes out to find them has a brother who is like that. He has woken up, but wishes he didn’t because he can’t cope. Sector 1 - Wasn’t my favorite at first, but it definitely a favorite now. I LOVE IT!
