Breed Guide: Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retrievers!
Added 2022-11-14 19:30:20 +0000 UTCGoooood Monday my Garfields! Hope you're having a swell week. It got sooo cold here, I have total whiplash. It was 80 degrees and then suddenly 30! So I had to turn on the heat for the pets, (I am frugal and probably wouldn't without them lol) and now Salad lives by the heater all day. I'm like, do something funny so I can post videos! But they're like, no.
This week's breed was suggested by KibaWolfPangolin!! Thanks so much. I always try to not end up with the biggest wall of text, but I just found these guys so interesting that I kept writing about them. I didn't know anything about tolling, and I was incredulous at first...But I watched some videos, and ducks really do come to check out what fox-like creatures are up to.
Apparently, even foxes exploit this, and have been seen working in pairs! One fox hangs out by the shore and draws them in, and another hides in bushes, waiting to ambush them. At the end of the day, I really relate to ducks, as I too wish to see a cool fox. My mom also insists I was reincarnated from a duck, and that I came out of the womb quacking, so there's that.

My neighbors have two of these, both young! Beautiful dogs, and first time I got to see this breed in person. They do seem pretty energetic, but at least it's a change from the Invasion of the Doodles that happened since the pandemic (no offense to Doodle owners, but there are a LOT of them!!)

Apparently at like age 5, I could hook up a power drill and would just drill holes in a block of wood. My dad thought it was so cute that I used proper power safety with power strip and tool while my mom just looked on in horror.
