One year in Patreon - Thoughts.

Heyo peeps. I hope youre doing great. 

This is a journal with my personal thoughts about something in particular- This site, Patreon.

In a couple days it'll be my first "Patreon Birthday". One year since I started using the platform.

When I started it, truth be told, I was hesitant. I actually had my doubts anybody would support me monthly, and the first patrons I got were for me like, "omg it works". 

The road slowly went up. Right now Patreon is the one paying my bills. It's true that the path had a couple rocks -Late submissions at times and one reward that I forgot at some point- but in general it's been a straight way, and the problems have been minimal.  Technically, if I didnt have goals, I could simply do Patreon only and thats it -its not the case; I have money to save for something- but the fact that somehow I 'survived' in this platform is, for me, that always had a pretty pitiful self esteem until not long ago, something epic.

What am I going to do? What do I plan to do from now on? Continue where the path takes me and continue working. So far this accomodates me: Do Patreon stuff, do normal comics in fA, stay busy, earn to live and to save for goals. 

Meanwhile I'm trying to make the platform better for me. Supporters are going to be getting some more posts, previews of projects, WIPs and other stuff, like PDFs of my comics to read them all in one go once I finish them (Like I did with the Halloween comic). 

I know that a ton of people hate this site because artists hide stuff behind paywalls. But truth be said that Patreon was an enormous help this year paying my bills and also letting me work for personal goals, thing that with normal commissions would become much harder.  

Specific future plans.

I have plans for 2017, and in general talking about them helps me to keep doing them. So there it goes.

I'll continue working as now, and I'll try to increase my amount of supporters. Maybe new rewards? Exclusive streams or activities? I don't know yet. I only know I'll continue working with Patreon as I've been doing, or more.

Along with Patreon I'll continue making comics during the upcoming months to save for very expensive goals.

During the month of June I'll temporally pause Patreon, and I'll resume it in August. Why this? Because I'm going to travel to Germany, to visit my mate, meeting friends and also to go to the Eurofurence~ Yup, this is a pseudo confirmation (I'll confirm it completely the first days of January tho-. Of course I'm not going to charge you for months where I'll be mostly unable to draw. lol

And the rest, the destiny will say. For a long time I was like a boat in the middle of the sea without any kind of sail; the wind took me anywhere and I simply let myself go, and due to that I used to catch the worst storms. I finally installed a sail, instruments, and started to direct the boat where I want it to go, and now that the wind is flowing in the direction I want, I can simply let myself go where the wind takes me... and if the wind changes direction, I'll modify the sail and navigate to get back to the main path.

You've helped me to install these tools. Because even if I could give a huge shoutout to my closer friends who were always there in every moment -over all Katojana and Sparky the Chu, truth is, I couldnt have done it without your support. 

So thank you guys. You rock. If I ever have a son, I'll call him "Myfollowers".

uh.... ok no, Ignore that last promise.

But seriously and out of joke, thank you for your support for all this time, for the future time and lets hope 2017 to be much better than 2016 was. You're awesome.
