A little bit of a loose interpretation, but I dig the results. Long ago a legion of soldiers on their way to a battle disappeared in these swamp lands, never to be seen again. Was the local flora responsible? Well, we'll never know for certain, but since then the local flora has been known to inhabit and even animate the armor of these long gone knights. There are tales of travelers still disappearing in those marshlands...
