The Expanse 6x4 Full REACTION

What an episode. Sadly I didn’t realize that my camera was blurry part way through this reaction. I try to make sure to look at the view finder to see if I’m blurry or clear. But I was too focused on this episode and didn’t look up in time :(

I apologize for that guys. Can’t believe there’s two episodes left of the series

Agreed about Drummer's quote. I fucking LOVE it. Just on this rewatch, listening to her speech actually made me teary-eyed.

I'd love to see her react to them

Times are dire, that's unfortunately certain. I'm a communist, so I believe the only way to fundamentally change things is to abolish capitalism. To overthrow our capitalist fascist state. And for that it takes revolution. Every communist I know who watched this series has a strong support for the Belters, and while most would have rolled with the "hard core" OPA, most would not agree with Marco's means of revolution (ie the genocide of Earthers). But it will have to take armed struggle. In the meantime, we have to organize, study, and forge strong communities and mutual aid, because we will have increasing need to depend on each other as time goes on. Sorry if that comes across and doom and gloom. I definitely believe times are changing for the better in various ways and will continue to. I think people are truly realizing the facade of capitalism and the isolation and despair it brings and want us to value altruism and community. Anyway, as someone with autism who has a great deal of empathy, I truly empathize with you. lol 💓

IDK if you mentioned the X-Ray shorts but there are 5 of them. One for each of the first 5 episodes of this season. Figured I mention them, you'll enjoy the little bit of lore they add I think.

I really love all the conversations between characters this season, and this episode in particular: Amos & Holden butting heads over Jim's disarming decision. Naomi & Holden trying to deal with the complicated truths behind that decision (and, more broadly, Holden's well-meaning but counterproductive attempts to "protect" Naomi). Clarissa & Holden on the value of NOT killing someone, even if they deserve it. Bobbie & Amos remembering Alex. And Chrisjen & Monica discussing Monica's "Lucky Earther" piece and what it says about how easy (and stupid) it is to hate people who are "other." And, on the other side of the conflict, we have: Marco & Rosenfeld on leadership & mercy. Filip & Tadeo on the importance of family. And even Rosenfeld trying (in her own way) to teach Filip to be a better man, even if his father isn't one. Meanwhile, on Laconia, even Duarte, bizarrely and inappropriately confiding in young Cara about the personal grief and insecurities behind his betrayal of Mars and "hope" for Laconia, is compelling, though it makes me want to smack him and say "dude, you really want to lay all the existential BS behind your evolving fascism on a 10 year old who just lost her brother?" It's kind of the first hint that that guy Ain't Right. And then, as a bonus, we see Michio showing her true worth, while Camina Drummer looks at the cost Marco's war has had on her family (Josep in particular) and her People at large, and decides at that moment to go all in on publicly opposing Marco. What a badass she is. You know, everyone knows that this show does the battle scenes and military tactics and one-shot shootouts and ALL of that stuff amazingly, and I love that stuff too. But I think these quieter, talky, character-revealing episodes are, in the end, the ones I love the best, the ones I keep coming back to and thinking about. I can't think of a team of writers in all of television who does a better job of giving us this stuff. The quality is just awe-inspiring. And, Imon... as always, I appreciate your insights and thoughts and reactions as well. You may be blurry, but damn, you GET it 👏. I can't wait to share the last two episodes of this show with you. But also, it's sad that it's almost over 😭.

As far as crime and punishment goes on Laconia, it seems pretty authoritarian, even fascist, it's run by Martians who thought Mars was too soft and weak and not strict enough. I was also going to mention what Admiral Duarte said at the end of season 5 right before they got killed by the ring things, but Aldo covered that really well in the comment above. I love Drummer's quote to Marco, "Live shammed and die empty."

It's cool about the blur. The show is to Awesome to look away🙂🙂

Laconia is super interesting, but most reactors get annoyed at it. I'm glad you're enjoying it. To bring some context back to it, remember this is the planet that the rogue martians from S5 went to and sent the protomolecule to. So most of the martian military there are the same as the admiral and aide from the final scene in season 5: "dishonorable discharge will be a bullet, or worse"; "we have to be more pure than Mars ever was". They're buliding a militaristic dictatorship. Yes, love Michio! That scene after she cut off Josep's arm in the ship, laying with him lovingly just breaks and warms my heart into a million pieces.

Bobby is gonna be in the live action Moana!!!
