Nope i've seen it twice before. First time i watched season 1 with my brother and didn't think of it much different then typical adult cartoons. Fell off from there. Always heard it was great though. Then i got fired on my birthday, lost a relationship earlier in the week and generally spiraled out of control and figured while i had free time now i should check out the rest of the show. Was absolutely floored when i discovered what the show really is about and it helped me a lot though was also painful to digest at the time. How are you enjoying the show so far? Interesting to hear someone watching it for the first time with Imon and Abi. Did you have any knowledge or thoughts about the show before starting this series?

Yep, pretty much the thesis of the show. Is this your first time watching it too?

I feel you. It just sucks to feel like I'm causing them to worry, and it also sucks to be lying to/performing for them, so it's easier to just keep my distance

Fun fact: the termite queen was voiced by RuPaul :D
Also, I can't wait for you to react to episode 11. It's one of my favorite episodes.

Imon talking about her entreprenurial (yes it is a word!) spirit as a young girl seriously resonated with me. I remember badgering my mum and my school to let me sell the cookies we used to bake at home, because we were so poor I wanted to try and do something about it. Whilst my mum loved me, she had a lot of stuff going on in her own life to contend with, and so could never give me the support I needed to persue it, and after the years passed that part of me slowly withered away.
As an adult I'm now trying to rekindle it, but it's so much harder than if I'd had it nurtured when growing up.
Always love these reactions, and love the fact you share these parts of yourselves online despite the fact it must be bloody nerve wracking considering what the internet is like, especially towards women.
All hail the fire that is you two <3

You never want the people you care about most to see you at your worst. Very true for me right now.

Bojack avoiding Diane because he wanted to be better before seeing her reminds me of Diane avoiding him in S2 after moving out of his house because she was ashamed of who she was when she was there. I think shame can have a crippling effect on our relationships and ability to connect to others. Finding people who accept you as they seem to accept each other is a great cure for it.
After having that whole party at their house for over a week its relieving Mr. Peanutbutter came to the conclusion he no longer wants to be Govenor. Hopefully now him and Diane can focus on each other since there's not a bunch of people in the house anymore and she doesn't need to write political think pieces about him.
