The Legend of Korra 4x2 - "Korra Alone" Full REACTION!!

This to me is also why I like TLOK. You never see the prolonged effects of trauma for Aang because he had to accomplish a very specific task in a year. Here Korra has the time an we see the up and downs of recovery. Also, was so ready for the real star of the show to show up. Love that line at the end. Twinkle Toes.

who had the worse ptsd and physical therapy Korra or Hank?

You talked over this, but Korra wrote to Asami in the letters and not Mako or Bolin (she told her not to tell them she wrote at all). Just thought that was worth pointing out

Really great episode! Seeing Korra go through physical therapy with Katara was great but she's still holding on to trauma from her past experiences. Its also great to see a fun free spirited moment of Adult Aang with that picture. Glad subtitles didn't spoil the Toph reveal. This episode has a alot of parallels to Zuko's story. He had an episode called "Zuko Alone," she tossed her arm bands in the water much like he did the blue spirit mask and most notably they both cut their hair to leave their past identities behind them.

It sucks that aang isn't truly there as one of her past lives but toph calling her twinkle toes is always heartwarming to hear.

Dune

Korra's illusion represents her PTSD from fighting Amon, Zaheer, and Unalaq. We have to keep mind this woman has been abused and misused in a multitude of ways. So like most abuse victims, she has these mini episodes of self doubt and depression. It's actually really good writing all around.

Funny enough, not the first time an avatar imagined seeing themselves being attacked by their avatar state. Aang had similar dreams in the beginning of book 2, seeing himself in the avatar state attacking him. Maybe its an avatar thing.

The vision of Korra and her creepy self isn't a spiritual thing. Not a spoiler but, the poison pool is meant to show its a manifestation of her trauma. Korra is going through hardcore PTSD so it isn't something she can just "face" like a villain and make it go away. It stays with her, no matter how far she goes. So many people kind of miss that, and assume korra has to "understand" something or "face" something. It's something that's a part of her, and you can't expect her to behave any different than any other person suffering from trauma just because she is the avatar. She's still a human being. This main episode is why she is my favorite character.
