If you decide to skip fillers I would still highly recommend episode 156, which has lots of Yami and Mereoleona! I promise you will not regret it :) I believe the episode is technically filler though.

Up to you but I'd prefer you do the anime canon/manga canon stuff, as well as the anime-canon arc from 142-148 which fillerlist classifies as 'filler' as I think it's very good. Also 149 is totally filler idk why fillerlist says its 'anime-canon' and 135 is fun regardless so I recommend it

What?🤨 142-149 were interesting and pretty good....gave a good look at the kingdom and the people actually living there. I was pretty invested in the story. 157 is definitely lots more recap and flashbacks but 152 has less recap than you think, the total minutes of flashbacks is like 2 minutes max? It's wholesome and has some great character interactions.

I think watching all of it except recaps (which is just like 2 episodes) is completely okay and should not be frowned upon. These episodes are fun/cool/interesting in their own way and while there is content that is not canon to the manga, it was approved by the mangaka. Also, if you like Black Clover, I don't see the harm in watching everything since it's going to end soon. Last and least important, I joined this Patreon specifically for Black Clover so I'd rather get as much as possible of the content I joined/pay for since I don't watch the other reactions. 😅

eh i wouldn't really recommend that, the earlier filler is good too, i'd hate to see them skip 136 personally. also if they're watching 151 they should at least watch 150 too, not only is it a pretty good episode which sets up the premise of the next one but i think it was referenced in a recent canon episode too?

151 is captain filler fight episode that's not important to the story and 154 just yuno vs langris shit, that gets summarized in first episode of the spade kingdom arc so it isn't as important as you make it out to be

Well after googling a ton in regards to black clover, there aren't actually a lot of "filler" episodes. It's not all canon. Only the anime canon episodes are episodes people would call filler, but if the author approved them as canon can they really be called filler?

They just reacted to 122. The series will "end" on March 30 with episode 170, followed by some kind of announcement. They're stopping in the middle of a story arc, which the manga is still on, so presumably they're gonna announce some kind of continuation. Maybe it'll continue as a seasonal anime. Maybe the manga ends after this arc, and the anime ends after it adapts the rest. (Totally speculation. I haven't really been keeping up with discussions around it.)

What's the criteria for "filler" and "canon" here? I guess by filler you don't just mean the stuff that wasn't in the manga, but stuff that really feels like it's just filling time? So you'd decide what to skip based on recommendations? I mean it's all "canon" right? Or is there some widely accepted list of what counts and what doesn't? (Genuine question. I fell off trying to watch all the filler and haven't kept up with that much of the discussion around it.)

I'm not your audience for this show. I personally voted for option 3, just to hurry its progression along and to have it end, potentially replaced with something better. Then again, I have no idea how much you guys are liking the show. If it's a show that makes you and your audience happy, keep going.

I say the 2nd option ep 151 and ep 154 are must watch tho, but they should watch the filler on their own, because it's some good filler episode like ep 136 and characters interaction before the manga canon Spade Kingdom War. Atleast on March 30 ep 170 the anime will take a break and there will be a HUGE announcement for the series and it's been hinted at by multiple sources. Black Clover will be a getting a movie during the anime break

I voted for all episodes including fillers. Some of the filler episodes are really fun. There’s one involving unspoken love that I think Imon and Abi would get a kick out of. However it seems the majority wants them to skip those, so go for it.

I agree bro, I'd say the last 5 mins of 157 is important due to someone learning a new technique but I guess you can always fit that on to the end of ep 156 reaction

I voted for the 1st option - all episodes including fillers just for experience 😂. But the 2nd option is good, too. Just keep in mind that there are also really really good fillers out there.

I'd say it depends on how yall feel about it. Personally, filler or not, if you really like black clover then why not watch every single episode? Minus recaps but including fillers. The show has really ramped up in the current arc so I think watching the light hearted fillers would be nice before getting into the serious stuff and finishing off the show. Also I disagree with lime in regards to episodes 142-148. I really enjoyed that little arc. It was a nice change at least for me. I'm sure most people would like to see your reactions to all the good, canon stuff but I say hey just watch everything that's left good or bad.

Filler got a bad rap from naruto. Its entertaining even if it's not furthering a specific plotline. Also I appreciate the show giving some screen time to the people we are supposed to care about saving. The whole point of the magic knights is to protect the clover kingdom but we spend so little of who or what that actually is in the show. The filler arc shows that a little more

I don't know what " anime canon " is in this case but these upcoming fillers range from really good to awful like as bad as the old Naruto fillers that people hated. I voted for the second option because if we go by manga canon then we barely have any episodes left which is too sad for me.

i voted for the second option because watching every episode is definitely a bad idea and so is skipping straight from 129 to 158 but i feel like i should clarify a bit because i'm not really sure what list you guys are going off and what it considers "anime canon" vs pure filler. to break The Filler Zone up into a few "phases"... 130-136 is the Good Filler... it's not really important to the plot aside from maybe 130, but it's still very entertaining (honestly better than like most of the series before the elf arc) 137-141 is basically the same kind of stuff but it starts to feel a bit more fillery, like episodic (or half episode) stories focusing on specific characters. i'd still recommend it but i don't think anyone will mind that much if you skip those 142-149 is a tediously slow filler arc, totally skippable 150-151 is more Good Filler, 151 in particular is one of the best episodes in the series so definitely watch that 153-156 is the canon stuff leading directly into the next arc 152 and 157 are basically just recaps. hope this helps...
