2020-10-01 17:16:18 +0000 UTCOne thing I can say about this show having finished it is that there are so many aspects of it that just about anyone can relate to and that's what makes it great I think. The parent who doesn't believe you'll be anything in life, the selfish asshole who is just really broken inside, the person who settles even if it's not what they really want, the workaholic who can't make time for anything else, etc and then seeing how each character deals with all the different aspects of their life. Being able to relate it to your own life or even someone else's life that you know is what makes it even better.

It's not just that he grew up with that, but that even at 50 years, all the change and progress Bojack had finally got, She sabotaged it all in 30 seconds. This episode really helps frame allot of why Bojack is the way he is. - It's not every episode, some are almost lighthearted and fun. Ep 2x1 is a statement of intent. Says: This is what we're doing, so don't say we didn't warn you. again, sending lots of love and support. Thank you.

I came from a home life similar to young Bojack's and can relate to Imon coming from a less understanding strict ethnic / religious background. But unlike Bojack i had a caring mother and siblings. Diane told Bojack she doesn't believe in "deep down" and your actions make you what you are. Bojack tried his best here forcing himself to be a more positive and likable person. His mother brought back the darkness their family has deep down inside... and in this dysfunctional life and environment it actually helped.
