It's a restriction that makes the ability stronger. And yeah, that's the guy with the nen beast! The Troupe was stalking him in an earlier episode. Yeah. Gon has kind of always been like this. He's operating on some sort of internal logic and moral compass that's really hard to get a grasp on. He's actually a really fascinating character in a lot of ways! It only really becomes clear around here that he's some sort of weird animal boy. The thing is that both his kindness and willingness to reach out to anyone and his selfish singleminded determination are genuine, and that's what's so messed up about him, in a way!
