Which Super Sentai?

Once this shed project is finished, I want to check out ALL Super Sentai and Ultraman Openings. With that in mind, which Super Sentai would you want me to start first?

Heisei or Showa, and which ones? Please don't repeat series, so if you see one already, simply hit the <3 button to let me know to add it to the next poll. Feel free to suggest an Ultraman series, too.

Thanks, everyone.

Sorry for the late reply. Blazar is definitely one of the best in the series, but Blazar is quite different from other ultramans so I’m not sure if it should be the first show for you. If you decide to watch it first it’s also ok. Just remember he is not a typical ultraman. My internet just went wild and I might replied several times with the same thing. Sorry if it caused you any trouble.

Thanks for the suggestion, Neos. I appreciate it. I'll add both to the poll.

Anriku

Sounds like I'll be putting both on the poll. ;)

Anriku

I'll put it on the poll. ;) Ty.

Anriku

I'll keep those in mind. Ty. How about Blazar?

Anriku

Appreciate the detailed post! Ty. I'll be adding some of these to the poll.

Anriku

King-Ohger does look sick. I'll add it to the poll.

Anriku

I'll look into it. I guess it's the least connected to previous ones?

Anriku

Noted. Thanks for the suggestions, dude.

Anriku

Gotcha. I'll add it to the poll.

Anriku

I think the 2 episodes special is separated enough from the main series to be enjoyed on it own. Beside, a lot of people I know start getting into Kyoryuger after King-ohger so maybe that's a plus. He's currently doing Gozyuger after all.

KSAE

Kingoh is great but there's a huge 3(?) episode chunk dedicated to Kyoruger in the middle. and bits near the end. He'd definitely want to see that series first.

elfgames

I would really recommend King-Ohger it’s got one of the coolest seasons ever and for ultraman Blazar is a great starting points lots of action and a really good cast

Neos

Donbrothers is an amazing, yet very unique sentai. The characters are the cream of the crop, but there are some criticisms about its plot, or lack there of. King ohger is a great example of a sentai that has a long, overarching narrative that pays off in the end. I’m biased towards donbrothers, but kingohger is undeniably great

JamProject

Honestly gokaiger, I think u might like it. It’s not close to the American version at all but honestly I think it’s WAY better compared to the American version.

Kaleb Canfield

I see what you mean. That's referring to viewership numbers each week as the show was airing on tv. It's not reflective of a show's quality.

Lightning

I would suggest you to start with Ultraman Z or Ultraman X. For the ultraman series I think you can start with the new generations or the Reiwa ones not only because they look mordern but also they have only about 24-28 episodes so you could cover them quickly to see if you want to continue watching more ultraman series.

On wiki.

So many possibilities, it's hard to say... KSAE covered King-Ohger well, and most folks consider it to be Peak Sentai. Definitely goes onto my short list. Go-Busters is a different vibe that does some interesting things like the giant fight scenes not just being "monster of the week grows", and has probably my favorite villain. Such a smug, devious little [expletives deleted]. They wanted to give a little love to Power Rangers and the fans in the west around this time, and they were NOT subtle with it - the equipment even says "It's morphing time!" Gokaiger is a great all around romp, and was the big "celebration of Super Sentai" before GoZyuger currently is. It did a similar thing with the mecha at the start of GoZyuger, but with the heroes themselves, and then used that and returning actors to go wild. Any of these three would have me cheering, but there really are very few BAD choices. Shinkenger, Lupin/Pat, Timeranger, Kyoryuger... there's a lot of fun to be had among the 49 teams and hundreds of heroes!

MelodyBunneh

King-Ohger. Relatively new, one of the best in sentai history. The writing is so good that the keyword "release the theatrical version of the last 3 episodes" blew up and got #1 trending globally on twitter. So far it's the only sentai to have its ending release as a full-length movie. Coincidentally, it's released in the same time as Geats

KSAE

blazar is probably the best ultraman to start fresh with

elfgames

Kyoruger

elfgames

I would say Gokaiger or Kyoryuger

Jaiden McClain

Exactly! I saw another rating for 7.9/10. Where did the 3% come from?

Progrise16

just listed some of my favorites, idk if I can really recommend one more than the others. I'd say look up a plot synopsis of them (plus the ones the other people have mentioned) to see if any jump out to you

Zoe Breeden

Where's the 3% from? It has it's haters sure but it's still a pretty popular and well talked about season with how unique it is.

Lightning

That's why I said underrated. I think if more people would revisit the show, it would be better remembered.

Progrise16

Which one would you recommend or want the most?

Anriku

Interesting. A versus theme might be fun. I see it had a 3% rating, though?

Anriku

Go-Busters looks cool. I like the suits.

Anriku

Seconding Lupinranger vs Patranger and I'll also add Dairanger (90s martial arts series) and Go-Busters (2012 spy series Power Rangers tribute).

Lightning

I think you should check out Kaitou Sentai Lupinranger vs Keisatsu Sentai Patranger. It's unique because it's the only Sentai season to have a versus theme. Also, I think it's an underrated season that needs more attention.

Progrise16

some of my favorites include donbrothers, gekiranger, dekaranger, jetman, abaranger, magiranger, shinkenger, gokaiger, gingaman, and timeranger. nice mix of older and newer series!
