Dahlia was halfway through her morning coffee when her roommate leaned against the doorframe, arms crossed, their grin just a little too smug. "Make sure you finish that coffee! Busy day ahead of you!"
Dahlia squinted over her mug, suspicion flaring for a moment. "Why are you looking at me like that?" she asked, lowering the cup slightly.
"Like what?" they replied, their tone all innocence. "I’m just glad you’re finally drinking it. You’ve got so much to do today."
Hesitating, but unable to resist the rich aroma of her favorite brew, Dahlia took another sip. Minutes later, she felt it—the familiar tingling sensation racing through her limbs. Her stomach dropped. "Oh no," she groaned, looking down as the room around her started to stretch and grow. Or rather, she started to shrink. "No, no, no! You’ve got to be kidding me!"
Her shirt now engulfed her entirely, the soft fabric pooling around her like a blanket. She scrambled to free herself from the folds, wrapping herself in her panties. "Again?! What is wrong with you?" she yelled, her tiny voice carrying more frustration than authority.
Her roommate loomed closer, crouching down to get a better look at the doll-sized Dahlia struggling in her clothes. "Poor little Dahlia. You're so easy to shrink! You fall for it every time!"
Dahlia glared up at them, clutching her makeshift cover. "You’re insufferable," she huffed, her face flushing pink.
They chuckled, clearly enjoying themselves. "And you’re adorable," they teased, gently poking the heap of fabric that contained her. "Come on, don’t be mad. You’ll be back to normal soon… but for now, let’s just say my day just got a whole lot more fun."
Dahlia groaned, sinking into the folds of her shirt. "Great. Just great. Here we go again."
