oooooh. I think I got messed up somewhere then,. I think we thought they'd switched the babies on purpose to protect the heir from like, potential assassins or something, and then the actual heir died anyway, so it became a moot point. So I guess the question is how did they find out about the switch then? Did Ah-Duo come clean after the death? I don't recall.

2025-03-12 18:17:54 +0000 UTCLuomen wasn't the one who switched the babies. It was Ah-duo. So, a reminder of what we learned in season 1, based on what Maomao figured out. Jinshi was born at the same time as the current Emperor's younger brother. While Ah-duo was giving birth Luomen was pulled away from her to attend to Empress Dowager, as she was given higher priority. Ah-duo saw the difference in treatment and switched the babies to make sure her son would get preferential treatment. Not long after the Emperor's younger brother, now in Ah-duo's care, died because of honey. Some time after that it was discovered that the children were switched and Luomen was punished for failing to notice it, especially since it was already too late.
