When Cheonggyecheon was redeveloped, all of the merchants who lived there lost their jobs and homes and had to leave, but ironically, in 2024, Cheonggyecheon is now a tourist attraction in Seoul. Not only Seoulites, but many tourists visit Cheonggyecheon.

2024-09-07 04:22:15 +0000 UTCSeveral of the events in Moving are reconstructions of events that have actually happened in South Korea in the past: the crashed airplane in the Doosik episode, the North Korean militants infiltrating South Korea, and the Cheonggyecheon redevelopment protests in this episode. These are all real events that happened.

It could also be both as well I’ve heard of not so pristine police “hiring” people for stuff like this too especially back in the day.

So they probably hired some gansters or mafia to kick those vendors out because what police could do just probably hold the protest but ganster could scare the vendor and forced them out. I have seen some real cases like this

2024-09-05 16:39:16 +0000 UTCThe movement between the vendors and the police was a real thing that happened I believe. The serviced laborers were hired by the police to mess up the rioters without the police actually putting hands on them.
