Dev Update #10 - Our First Major Update

Hello Everyone!

Welcome back to another week’s newspost. We’ll be going over the last week in Alpha, what we’re working on and what’s coming next. 

It is time. 

👾 Our First Major Update - v0.5.0-alpha

We have released the first Major Update, which includes Farming and Mastery Guilds.

These updates are quite large, and include many other additions, changes or removals. Please read the changelog carefully so you aren’t confused by some changes.

PLEASE MANUALLY BACKUP YOUR SAVE BEFORE UPDATING!!

With Farming and Mastery Guilds released, here is the plan of attack for next features:

As usual, we are monitoring ALL feedback and bugs! There’s quite a bit happening behind the scenes that we have not announced yet, but hopefully soon we can share more details.

🏋️ What we have been working on 

Here is what the team has been working on recently.

Development

Malcs:

• Finalised Farming & its initial balance.

• Finalise Mastery Guilds and its initial balance.

• Worked on the many miscellaneous changes and additions included in the Major Update.

• Has been sorting out some big unannounced things going on in the background.

• Making preparations for future feature development.

• Working on getting Steam Alpha ready.

Coolrox:

• Finished adding some additions to the core Modifier System functionality.

• Integrated the new modifiers functionality with Farming.

• Refactored some core Game Data functionality for maintainability.

• Started work on implementing a localisation system for the game.

Game Design

Prat:

• Prat remains sequestered in his office finalizing Agility.

Artwork

Tapi:

• Further work with Farming artwork! This time working on trees and all their bits.

• Tapi is currently on leave, due to return next week.

What if I find any bugs while playing?

If you find a bug, please submit it either on Discord in the #mi2-bug-reports channel, or using this Google form. Please use the Google form if there is any crashing, that way you can also submit a game log to help with the bug squashing process.

What should I do if I’m having trouble accessing the Alpha or Patreon Chat in Discord? 

If you (or a friend, an enemy) are having issues accessing anything, please shoot us a DM on Patreon. It’s easiest for us to assist from there, as Malcs’ DMs are always crazy on Discord. Thank you!
