Meet Aoyagi the Professional Breeder

Finally back into the neighborhood with a thicc older woman.

This week we have Aoyagi! She lives in the bottom left house in the neighborhood, and is known as a professional breeder. Here's the artwork.

In this world, the birth rate has been steadily going down. More and more men and women have just completely lost interest in having children. To combat this, the government has instituted a program where they'll take any children people have but don't want to raise, and they'll even give the parents compensation for their time. This has led to the rise of Professional Breeders. Women who don't have jobs, but instead just have babies over and over instead.

In this world, pregnancy works a little bit differently. Instead of having to wait 9 months, a baby can be born in just 7 days. However, to induce labor, the pregnant woman has to have sex with the father. If they don't, then they have to wait the full 9 months. So Professional Breeders have specific men that they partner up with, known as Breeding Bulls. Now that the context is out of the way...

Aoyagi is one of these Professional Breeders. She recently lost her Bull and is looking for another one. Aoyagi is lazy and doesn't like to do much except have sex. You've been told to stay away from her, because she's been known to trick barely legal men into being her Breeding Bull because of how fertile they are. Now that you're sexually active and beginning to go out on your own into the world, you can decide to go talk to her.

Aoyagi will be part of the pregnancy storyline that starts with Shizuka, but you don't need to start the storyline to become Aoyagi's new Breeding Bull. The storyline is more meant to send you to Aoyagi if you haven't talked to her yet, so that you're introduced to the pregnancy mechanic.

Pregnancy Mechanic -

Before I get into the design inspirations, I wanted to talk a little about the pregnancy mechanic. As sort of outlined in the story explanation, the way it works is that you'll impregnate a woman, then wait 7 days, then bang them again. Then you'll get paid. The second scene is a pregnant scene. I'll probably end up doing pregnant variations of the existing scene, rather than entirely new ones. Mainly to save time. Anyway, as soon as they've had the baby and you've gotten paid, you can try to impregnate them again. The chance of impregnation will vary depending on the woman. Aoyagi will have a 100% impregnation rate and it will be clear you're trying to impregnate her. That may not happen with other women though. You may not be trying to get them pregnant, but they may end up pregnant anyway. For now, the only women you'll be able to impregnate are part of the impregnation storyline. Which will be Shizuka, Aoyagi, and then a third character.

The amount you get paid will vary depending on the woman you impregnate. A tier 1 woman with a 100% chance of impregnation like Aoyagi isn't going to pay as much as a tier 2 woman with a low chance of impregnation, like Shizuka will be at the end of her storyline.

I decided to do the pregnancy mechanic as a way to make more money, and because I just like impregnation in games. I always think it's weird how impregnation games almost never have actual pregnant scenes, so I wanted to include them here. It would be super weird to just immediately have them pregnant, but of course waiting an actual 9 months in game is absurdly long, so I went with 7 days. Since that's a good balanced number of days. It's enough that you can just go home and sleep 7 times and go back to get paid, but 7 times is also enough to deter people from doing that. You can, but if you're looking to grind money, there's going to be much better ways to do it. It's meant to be a nice little bonus and to add another mechanic to the game. As well as some risk later on. Since as the game progresses, you'll end up with the choice of things like using a condom.

I'd like to add more characters that can be impregnated, or even possibly go back and add impregnation to some existing characters, but for now, I'm working on filling out the areas and trying to get storylines going.

Aoyagi's Inspiration -

Aoyagi was inspired by a few different women. I'll get the obvious one out of the way first, Misato from Evangelion. The primary thing I took from Misato was the hair, but that was more than enough to see a heavy influence. Even after changing up her bangs to be a little spikier, giving her sharp eyes instead of more rounded ones, having completely different clothes, and having a completely different body type, the influence is very clear. I had considered giving her some face lines to make her look older, and while that did make her a little more distinct, it just didn't fit what I was going for with the character. She's supposed to be mid-30s, and giving her the lines makes her jump up to look more like she's in her 40s. So I just left it. Plenty of other stuff is different that I don't think it'll be a problem.

Speaking of which, let's move on to character inspiration #2, Aoyagi Yoshino from an eroge called 彼女のお母さんは好きですか？～クールな人妻社長を籠絡せよ！～ or romanized, Kanojo no Okaa-san wa Suki Desu ka? from a company named Heiantei. Aoyagi was in the original build of the game before I started reworking it to have custom artwork, and in the original, this character was Aoyagi Yoshino. The only thing that really ended up being carried over to the final design was the name though.

And now for character inspiration #3, Jessie Maye from Honey Pop. Whenever I think of skanky MILF, I think of Jessie. So I ended up giving Aoyagi the leopard print, just like Jessie has. I originally had given Aoyagi a top more similar to Jessie's, but ended up changing it. It didn't fit as well with the belt and miniskirt, which is a type of skirt I've wanted to add in for a while. I also didn't think it was skanky enough. When you run into Aoyagi, she's just about to go on the hunt for a new Bull, so she's dressed as slutty as possible. I wanted to show some skin, so I ended up giving her a crop top and as short of a skirt as possible without showing her panties. I ended up adding the mesh part of the top to make the design a little more unique and interesting. Without it, it was fine, but a bit bare. I tried adding some other jewelry like a necklace, a choker, and some arm bands, but didn't really like any of it. It was fine, but didn't feel like Aoyagi. Then I tried the mesh and liked it.

Lastly, I made her thiccer because I wanted more thicc women in the game lol. She was originally going to be a little more fit, but for one, the sketch looked exactly like Misato in a slutty outfit that way, but also being thicc makes a little more sense to me. She's continually being impregnated, so it makes sense for her to be a bit bigger than a lot of other women.

And that's it for Aoyagi. Next week I'll be doing a WIP post on whatever I happen to be working on. I've been having a hard time finding a job and really need money, so I'm trying to rush through and get the game in a state where I can say it's "done" and put it up on places like Steam. Part of that is also getting v0.2 out as quickly as possible so I can start advertising a little heavier. I've mainly just posted the game on all the sites I can think of. I haven't done much so far because the game's been in such a basic state, but once v0.2 hits the game will have had a good amount of QoL updates like better balancing and the polish stuff like the custom music, there will be some story, there'll be almost 30 characters and more than 30 scenes in the game (if you count random character variations as individual characters and scenes, it's well over 70 for both), plus all the artwork from the collectables. If the game only gets to v0.3, then v0.2 will make the game about 70% done too. So I feel like that's a good amount of content and hopefully enough to get more people to try the game and support the project.
