Meet Sakura - The Housewife!

This week is a character intro for the second poll winner, Sakura!

Sakura is a married woman who lives in the same neighborhood you start in. You can usually find her at home. She's a sweet and loving woman who would do anything to help out someone in need. Anything.

At least that's the appearance she puts on. In reality, she's kind of a slut. She loves having sex and can never get enough. Especially with her husband always traveling for work.

Sakura is one of the many one-off characters in the game. She isn't planned to have any kind of story or anything attached.

Sakura's Inspiration - 

I did make some significant changes to the design, but the inspiration may still be a bit obvious if you're into H games especially. Sakura's inspiration was Sakura Aoi from Tsuma Shibori.

I wanted to keep the overall color palette of purples and pinks, since those are pretty soft colors and right now a lot of the characters are a bit darker. I was originally going to give her pink lips and no eye shadow, but I decided to give her some more striking makeup instead. In part as a reference to the old western stereotype of a housewife with the perfect makeup with red lipstick and everything. But also as a little hint to her true nature as a bit of a slut. 

And just like with Alicia, the high middle parted bangs just look weird to me in this style, so instead I went with straight bangs and a tighter ponytail as another reference to the old western stereotype of a housewife being perfectly groomed. 

And finally I decided to give her an off-the-shoulder style dress because I thought it fit well and there hasn't been any characters with that yet. I'm sure I've said this before, but I really want there to be a lot of variety in character designs. It's more fun than having just variations of the same type over and over like most games.

And that's it for this week's main art post. I'm probably going to work on catching up on scene cg and maybe sprites for the next couple of weeks. But I also may not. Scene CG especially is a lot more work, so I may not have time to do two in a row.
