hi, i have problem :( (anyone else have this issue?)
Added 2024-07-31 11:51:08 +0000 UTCwent on a small business trip, came back and my vam is not scanning the addonpackages somehow? there was no problem until i came back home...
i had to keep re-scanning addonpackages by opening package manager, and it's big hassle and time-consuming to reload all of "Session Plugins" plugins... and my addonpackages is almost 1 tb, even with my high-end cpu, it takes 3-5 mins for the scanning of var packages to complete (with ocasional crash)
no data was lost, and i can still work on Goblin x Elf even with this issue, thank god..
Comments
thank you, but i tried that, still same issue :(, the problem is my VaM is not auto-scanning addonpackages var at all. it really does seem to be corrupted .var file, preventing vam from scanning all addonpackage var, right now progressing on the scene while trying to fix it..

2024-07-31 13:19:30 +0000 UTCi will try that too, thank you very much, a user mentioned about corrupted .var, but it would be hellish to get the corrupt one out, with 1+ tb size of AddonPackages

2024-07-31 13:17:35 +0000 UTCI forgot what specific error code and description it gave, but it should be obvious if the problem shows itself in the error logs

2024-07-31 13:16:21 +0000 UTCDig around in the error logs, at least for me, a package was corrupted. In your scenario you didn't add or do anything to the packages so I don't know what's going on with your VAM, but I just removed a package the error logs said was acting up and it fixed the scanning of packages.

2024-07-31 13:13:09 +0000 UTClet me try that...

2024-07-31 13:13:03 +0000 UTCIt shouldn't have to do with your CPU, some of it does but it's mostly GPU and read speed on whatever you have your packages saved on. Eventually I had to move all my packages to a bigger but slower hard drive. If you can spare a SSD for VaM it'll improve the load time noticeably

2024-07-31 12:59:37 +0000 UTCby going to Package manager then pressing blue button "scan packages" still trying to look for the fix, i get "too many heap actions" crash too when manually scanning var packages.. even with i7-14700k

2024-07-31 12:13:43 +0000 UTCThis also happens to me for some files, how do I rescan packages? Sorry I know you're looking for help. I didn't think there was a fix rather just VaM not being optimized I usually end up having to wait minutes for scenes to load
