To be fair I think the Chris Watts situation was a testament to how good the polygraph woman was and the detective, as well as other people involved in the interrogation were. They were able to get this man to admit his crime so quickly. Them "consoling" him was a way to manipulate him into feeling safe so he would reveal the truth and the location of the bodies. They technically had nothing on him to keep him in custody other than a confession. And they were able to get the location of the bodies and everything. But I do agree with people explaining away his crimes and trying to find humanity in him is the polar opposite of how POC especially black people are treated when they are victims! Nevermind if they commit a crime as gruesome as that being a family annihilator.
