One thing to try is not necessarily, like, always going for the, like, totally valley girl speech pattern thingy? For example, y'all might could've gone and stuck with the good ol' country gal accent y'all was fixin' to give Daisy there before ya went an' made her talk like one uh them there city gals from Cal-ee-forn-ya. Seriously though, wonderful story; I always enjoy your work. :-)
