Don’t worry about that you missed the 1st name game changer as you are reactors who make comments but I got scared immediately after hearing them calling each other first names as that could be a trigger which it was for sure

It's a game changer for both of them, and I do think it is a very important part of the show, but with that said I watch y'all's reaction because I like to hear what y'all think and your take on things. Because there are things I missed or y'all see a different way and I think it's interesting. I have seen the show several times, and if I didn't want to truly hear what y'all had to say I would just re watch it again. The point I am trying to make is don't change anything y'all are doing. Your going back to re watch it and i do think you should because it is an important part of the show. Love you guys keep up the amazing work!!

2025-12-22 01:52:23 +0000 UTCIllya seeing what Scott Hunter and Kip did absolutely changed his entire world view in that instant and broke down every single "logical" reason he had to stay with Shane and he decided to also be brave and finally take what he has always wanted. To me, that is the biggest reason why I think when he tells Shane "I'm coming to the cottage" that Shanes jaw dropped and he was completely gagged. He never in a million years thought Illya would stay with him, especially after they had probably already discussed it and he completely understood all of the reasons. I also think that was why Illya was so forceful with how he said it and made sure it was immediate. He at that moment had firmly made up his mind finally and was making his intentions known to the love of his life as fast as he possibly could. No "Hello" no other conversation of any kind beforehand, just the firm delivery of that statement as fact that he needed Shane to know was his ultimate decision about their situation after all these years.

When Illya, Svetlana and his boys are watching the game, Illya tells Svetlana to put things in their suitcase. He is packing to go back to Russia, he had ZERO intention of going to Shane's cottage. Even though we didn't see the conversation happen, I think Illya and Shane had already discussed it and Illya gave every logical (to him) reason under the sun about why he just absolutely could not risk coming to stay with Shane and that Shane had accepted that.

You might have gotten sidetracked by the fact they were breathing so heavily into each other’s mouths with tuna breath!! I definitely was a little sidetracked by that. Also, who else was yelling “oh come on!” every time a sex scene presented itself only to have the next scene come on……. Just me? Ok lol

And my boys leaning into communication in a way they never have before because they each thought they couldn't have that even though no one will understand their journey like the other person. 2025-12-20 19:33:43 +0000 UTCWhen Ilya says “you don’t like me” to Shane in Florida, it kills me bc he’s not just saying it to shut down a risky situation, he mostly says it bc he feels fundamentally unlovable (also why he feels he doesn’t deserve Svetlana defending him from his bafoon brother’s verbal abuse) 😭. From the get go, Ilya’s been horrified Shane will leave him once he realizes that about him, so Ilya created a wall so that being inevitably abandoned doesn’t hurt as much 😭😭😭.

Connor Storrie is bringing my baby Ilya to life in such an incredible way. His version of Ilya is so perfect. The scene in the tunnel when he was on the phone with Shane. 😘 11/10. The fact that he could pull that off while speaking a language that is not his first. ❤️The entire cast is amazing, but Ilya is my favorite character from the book and Connor is making me love him even more, so I'm a bit biased. I just love this show so much!!!!!!!!!!!!

During the game Ilya was packing to go home to Ruasia but Hunter bringing Kip onto the ice is when he realized he could maybe have Shane and his career too.

My 18 yr old son is high functioning autistic (like Shane) and I see a lot of similar mannerisms. Especially in the dinner scene with Rose and in the hotel room where he holds Ilya, the way he phrases certain questions, eye contact and sometimes the understated more baseline personality is all recognizable. Hudson plays it fantastically. The female allies in this show, Rose and Svetlana, are fantastic. Rose SEES Shane and now they’re best friends and Svetlana knows that Ilya loves her but is not IN love with her but she has known him since they were kids and wants only the best for him, even though romantically, it’s not her.

From the visit in the hospital, Ilya and telling Shane to put his glasses back on, ilyas monologue in Russian to Shane about his feelings (😭😭😭) to the very end scenes….perfection.

So I’m pretty sure Rose is based partly on Jennifer Lawrence, especially bc she’s also got the whole funny, down-to-earth vibe going on. We love Rose in this household!!
