I think i'm finally, basically at the compromise between quality and efficiency that would suit a comic. 7 hours from scripting to finished isn't too bad, i don't think. and if i hadn't gone as hard on the internal it probably could have been done in 6.
Or, i could skip the sketch step and just go straight into the Ink Sized canvas. I think i'll give that a shot next time, to skip the intermediate step. Most of what i do in the third step is just trace over my sketch anyway.
