Though Ayaka was able to make adjustments in Chihiro's game to lead her to a knockout victory in round 2, she still has noticed Hikari's potential.
Right after the fight she invited Hikari to a sparring session in Ayaka's gym which Hikari happily accepted. To spar with the Japanese featherweight champion, and to be coached by the number #3 contender to the world title was just too tempting. Not only did Hikari accept the invitation, she also jumped on the opportunity to join Ayaka's team.
When Ayaka saw Hikari spar with Chihiro she knew she had to test Hikari in a fight with a strong opponent. She wanted to see what Hikari really is made of, and how she will deal with pressure. Ayaka chose Nagai Koga as opponent for Hikari as her first opponent under Ayaka's wings.
