Nakara Development Update
Added 2025-11-12 00:00:07 +0000 UTCHello, this is Redspike.
It’s been a while since my last update.
Today, I would like to talk about the future direction of Nakara and what is planned going forward.
Looking Back on the Development of Nakara
Nakara originally began as a small, short-term project.
The initial plan was to develop it over about one year and finish the game with five stages.
However, things changed greatly as far more people showed interest than I ever expected.
The more the game spread, the stronger my desire became to “show more.”
As a result, I ended up adding much more content than originally planned.
Trying to keep up with constant updates under tight schedules eventually affected my health, and there were times when development had to temporarily stop.
Even so, thanks to everyone’s support, Nakara was able to reach completion.
I am sincerely grateful.
Moving Forward
From here on, updates will be released more slowly.
This is not simply about slowing down—it’s a deliberate choice to ensure ideas are refined properly and the game’s quality remains strong.
And personally, I also need some time to rest and reorganize myself.
Future Update Plans
The previously promised H-scene updates will continue as planned.
As before, new H-scenes and stages will be added in 0.1 version increments.
The story of Nakara is not over yet.
However, instead of rushing to finish it, I plan to continue development gradually, after ideas have been shaped and polished.
During this process, new endings, maps, enemies, NPCs, and enhanced roguelike elements will be added as free updates.
Regarding Twitter
Recently, issues related to NSFW content reports have repeatedly occurred on Twitter (X),
so I have decided to discontinue official activity on that platform.
Future development logs will be shared through Patreon, Ci-en, and Itch.io.
Additionally, promotional announcements will mainly be handled by Shady’s Corner, who is currently managing the Steam publishing process.
Steam Version Status
The Steam demo version was recently rejected during the review process.
Because of this, the release schedule for Steam has been significantly affected.
I am currently working with the publisher to make adjustments and prepare for resubmission.
I am exploring every available option in hopes of releasing the game on Steam.
However, if multiple resubmission attempts still result in Steam declining the release,
I will proceed with the full release on alternative platforms instead.
If there are any changes or confirmed updates regarding release platforms or schedule, I will announce them immediately.
Finally
It has already been over two years since I began developing Nakara.
Thanks to everyone’s support, I was able to complete this game—
and more importantly, gain the courage to take on new challenges and prepare the next story.
From here on, progress may be slower, but it will be steady and sincere.
I will continue expanding the world of Nakara and developing new stories.
Thank you, truly, to everyone who has supported me so far.
I appreciate your continued interest and support.
Comments
I hope we'l get something with Mage boy. Maybe boss fight where he will be captured by Nakara's spell and made to fight us? As a variant.
