v.0.20 Progress Report (III)

I know the progress report was due yesterday, but I wanted to share some good news with you before writing it.

From Monday to Thursday, I made some progress in the update (797 renders and I don't know how many words), but I stopped the development of the next update on Friday.

Why? Because RiamMar (the modder who made the interface) sent me the code for the gallery! Obviously, the gallery was empty and I had to fill it up. Thanks, Riam!

And then I had some doubts. Only lewd scenes or every scene? I went for every scene, filtered by girl and kink. Since the gallery is thought for monolingual games, I took some design choices (some of them out of necessity):

You will have every scene of the game (Season 2, right now) available.
The scenes are not dependent on your saves, so you can use the gallery before loading the save.
That means your data isn't carried to the gallery (mostly, the characters's names).
That also means you can change your choices for a specific scene through a small questionnaire the game will ask you when you enter a scene (if any variable is involved).

I always wanted the gallery to be able to reproduce the whole story of a single girl if a player wanted to, and with this gallery, it's possible (for Season 2 only, right now)

Making it work, with every choice involved for every scene in Season 2 (89 scenes) meant I had to write 4,494 new lines of code (as a reference, the average lines of code per update in Season 2 is 3,798 including the dialogue lines). So you can imagine how I spent the weekend + Friday. Writing code and testing things.

As collateral, all that code added 1,094 words to Season 2, so the game has surpassed the 500,000 words mark in English (not counting what I've already written for v.0.20).

More good news. RiamMar also sent me the code to highlight the Load/Save page we are in.

So not a lot of progress in the development of v.0.20 (good, but not excellent), but I'm happy to bring a new funcionality to My Dorm and fix one that wasn't working properly.
