Problems in Paradise (and V)

The beast is back home.

It arrived yesterday late afternoon and I mounted it this morning.

After doing some stress tests I continued the render queue where it stopped, They did not need to format the computer, so I can continue where it stopped when it broke down.

First surprise. The computer arrived with a hit in the back panel and the screws are bent. I took some pictures before finishing the unbox and sent them to the tech service (they don't work today). But the computer started, so I won't send the computer to the manufacturer again because of 3 bent screws even if they took responsibility for it.

Second surprise: Since the queue still had the latest renders done, it showed the time per render (3:50, 4:19, 4:15, 4:20 the last ones). The next render in the queue, Saira pic, took 6:36 plus the usual ~2-3 minutes loading time. The next ones, Saira blinking animation, 6:34 and 6:37. And so on, every render in the first 12 took between 6 and 8 minutes, and I was like "What??? It's 30-45% slower!!!"

I stopped the queue and queued the renders I had the times it took before the breakdown. *Relieved sigh* They lasted 3:51, 4:16, 4:16, and 4:21. So 1-3 seconds difference with the renders pre-breakdown, sometimes positive and sometimes negative, so I won't mind that negligible (0.4-1.2%) difference since it can be something from Daz.

The time increase in the first renders compared with the pre-breakdown is the girl in the pic. Saira's hairstyle is a GPU-hungry bitch compared with Erika's (the girl in the last renders). It's amazing, but it takes a lot to render.

So, after all those tests, I put TheBeast to render once again and it has been rendering for 4:34 minutes right now without any issue, so I decided to write this post to let you know I will continue from now on working as usual.

I have 1,815 renders posed and waiting to be rendered so, when the computer finishes the old queue, I will add them and wait for some days until it finishes them. Fortunately, not all of them have Saira as the protagonist, so some of them will take a lot less (and others a lot more because they are group pictures with Saira in them). I could imagine the computer looking at me with sad fans when I add the queue.
