When I asked uranium to write this one, I was recalling my years as a retail worker that have caused me so much PTSD when it comes to Christmas/Holiday music and how I would've liked to go out in style. This time I'm taking you along for the ride!

Summary: It’s Christmas, and that means going to your parents’ house for dinner. As you prepare for the two-hour drive, you get a panicked call from your best friend. She’s hosting Christmas dinner for her family this year, and as she was putting the turkey in the oven, her entire apartment building lost power. You decide to help her out and say she can finish cooking at your place. And since you won’t be there anyway, why doesn’t she invite her family to have dinner there as well? After your bestie arrives and gets the food in the oven, you both enjoy some free time before you have to leave. Over a glass of wine, you talk about your crazy families and she asks how she can possibly repay you for your generosity (spoiler: it's not with a gift card).
