Here's our newest map set with two maps!
The first is Greenwood Chapel (53x53), a fortified church located on the highest hill in the Greenwood. It is a place of worship for druids, rangers, fey folk, nature clerics and any other sorts that have a connection with the forest specifically or nature in general. The trees in the towers as well as several of those spread across the church grounds can transform into treants in times of war.
Encounter Ideas:
- Arachnid Egg Hunt- A druid has tasked the party with finding Giant Spider eggs hidden throughout the chapel before they hatch and without arousing suspicion which might cause panic among the chapel's occupants.
- Vexed Vegetation - The plants have transformed into various plant-based monsters that have become quite agitated and violent towards the locals. The party has been asked to figure out what's going on, possibly destroy the transformed plants, mitigate the source of their transformation or possibly discover a peaceful solution.
- Dryad's Dilemma - A dryad has asked the party to retrieve the blessed Greenwood Chapel waters to heal her wounded home-tree but the priests at the chapel are unwilling to part with their blessed water for this purpose.
The second map is Running Up That Hill (30x40), the ruined location of the master's old home. Beware the tentacles, as they'll attempt to drag intruders in and lash them to the pillars strewn about. Also the puddles can poison your mind, making you suspicious of your surroundings and allies or draining your memories if you wade too far. If you can make it to the top you'll face the master, a worthy challenge for any party.
Encounter Ideas:
- Master's Pride - While facing the master in battle, the party discovers they can use the tentacles against him by standing in the pools; sacrificing sanity for powers.
- Escape Plan - After realizing they cannot defeat the master on his own turf the party must escape through the portal in the south trying to avoid the tentacles and pools as much as possible.
- Enemy of My Enemy - A rival of the master is buried in a grave to the south. The party must hold off the master's minions (and the master himself) until the ritual to awaken this rival is completed.
