Minor factoid for the Marie Antoinette quote. Back in her day bread was baked in wood-fired ovens. The oven was fill with wood that was burned down to embers and raked out. Then the dough was put in. The bottom layer of the bread (the cake) was frequently somewhat burned with traces of the ashes.

2025-01-21 15:06:06 +0000 UTCmy main guess is either thats just part of his personality, he's evil but he just respects when a deal is a deal, or maybe its strategic (if he's known to make good on his word maybe he'll get offered more deals like this in the future). or maybe its just a parallel to buffy not killing drusilla there even tho she definitely could have - she respected the little deal she'd made with spike there, and spike proceeds to respect the one he made with ford.

Also I never before caught that instead of "The Silver" 😂 theirs was called The Sunset Club 🌇 since that's when the vamps can come out to play 🧛🏻 I'm loving watching along and catching things I've missed during my countless repeated viewings of the show 📺

Fun Fact: Robia La Mort( Jenny) used to tour with Prince as part of his Diamonds and Pearls dance team. She appears in several of his music videos. Fun Fact 2: Julia Lee the blonde vampire wannabe that Spike bit auditioned for the role of Buffy originally.

Season one, it was that he killed his parents, this time how he tortured, killed and turned Drusilla into a vampire. If I was Buffy I would’ve run the other way despite the fact that he has a soul now. At the end the parallel between how Buffy feels towards both Angel an Ford is really well written and acted. Beautiful episode, of course written and directed by Joss Whedon.
