Tend to your garden
Added 2018-05-30 06:24:30 +0000 UTCI only found out about the Wacom Next Level competition a few days ago, and had been entertaining the thought of making this piece. With hearing about the competition, I put stylus to tablet to get this piece together!
The backstory of this piece is reflective of my interactions with others and the world. While talking to someone angry, I offered "tend to your own garden" as advice. And that little sentence stuck, this image came to min, but with my currently commissions and projects, I couldn't justify starting the piece. With finding out about the competition, it clicked that this was perfect, and got to drawing.
I find it a better use of your energy to focus on yourself, instead of fighting and attempting to change others. You are only in control of you. Focus on improving yourself, in whatever form that takes. Tend to your garden.
(I offer this advice to myself as well, as I am terrible at self care. But self care is good and really important and makes all the difference!)
